How do I do voice recording on Ipod 30G

I would like to be able to record voice on my ipod. do I need software updates?

When the hardware becomes available, you prob'ly won't need software updates. Previous microphones/voice recorders didn't need them (I thought maybe you wanted your question answered).

  • Audio/Voice Recorder for iPod [video] classic 160 GB Silver 6th Generation?

Hi, I'm looking for a voice recorder for my iPod, but I'm not sure which ones are compatible with my version, and which one is best.
i.e. Belkin TuneTalk, Griffin iTalk, etc. (I don't know which one is compatible, and then which one is best.)
This is the iPod I have:
Apple iPod classic 160 GB Silver (6th Generation)
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-classic-Silver-Generation/dp/B000JO7RVC
I've been doing research on the matter, but due to conflicting reports, I am left in ultimate confusion.
So I thought it would be best to ask the experts.
    Thanks!

    tunetalk & classic: No way.
I am having endless trouble with Belikin Tunetalk stereo & IPOD classics.
I've asked Belkin & Apple & had nothing useful.
background: Been using Belkin tunetalk stereos (2) with 2 Ipod 5G (video) for more than a year. They work ok: [given the well know issues of harddrive noise picked up with internal microphones.]
Two modes available: "low" 22050 MONO & "high" 44100 Stereo
Had a ipod die on me, so upgraded to classics.
Recorded away, got nothing but 44100 MONO. Not supposed to be able to do this mode. & since I was recording TWO channels, I lost data. Belkin site says for classics only with the lastest software".
I've reflashed the ipods multiple times I one ipod records only mono (BLACK), the other (SILVER) records about 1 in 10 mono. Of course you can't tell till you're done whether you're going to get mono or stereo!
As iDude80n said about asking experts? Any one know if I go buy TWO MORE ipods, eg nanos, will these things actually work? Will post as separate question.

  • How to add a voice recorder widget/interaction?

Well, that's my question. It's because I'm working now on a project that simulates the new TOEIC Speaking and Writing test, which is basically an online test, and I need to record students' answers to grade them later. BTW, I already checked this other thread Voice Recording and Playback widget which is pretty much what I'm looking for. I just opened this new discussion because it seems that's an old topic, and chances are that there might be a widget with this functionality by now. Thanks!

    Oh, what a pity!
Well, in any case, I've found this website Vocaroo | Online voice recorder which has turned out to be pretty handy, so I've used the website widget on every slide students are to record their voices. Hope someone in the future creates a widget for this, though.

  • How to edit audio files recorded on Ipod

I'm new at this! I'm recording long interviews on my Ipod, which get downloaded as Voice Memos into Itunes. I need to edit those files, and thought Garage Band would be just the program to do it with.  Now I'm not sure it will work.  The original files are in.wav format, but I figured out how to translate them into .mp3 format, too. Regardless, Garage Band won't recognize them. What is the best way to edit those interviews? Is there a way to do it with Garage Band? If I have to look to some other app, what do you recommend? Thanks for any light you can shed!

If they are in itunes, you should be able to just drag them from the itunes sidebar area in garageband to edit them.
If not and mp3 isnt working try converting it into aiff although wav works fine on garageband too.

  • How to sync old voice memos from ipod Touch to computer

Due to a computer crash I lost all the voice memos on the computer. So, I wanted to sync the voice memos still on my ipod touch to the computer again. Unfortunately, sync music, include voice memos, doesn't do the trick. How can this be done?

Since the original computer crashed did you do the following:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library and your new (or rebuild computer) is a new computer/iTunes library.

  • XtremeMac MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder For iPod

Im using a Sony recorder, that my friend let me borrow, to record my lectures for class. In order for me to transfer the recordings onto my mac, I must have windows. I don't want to install parallel onto my mac just for the recorder.
This device claims to be a detachable microphone which can records meetings, lectures or audio content directly onto iPod. It has a speaker for playback, I'm assuming that this device will not transfer onto my mac.
If anyone has used it, or has any suggestions on a recorder that i can record and then have it transfer to my computer or has any idea on how to get recordings (its in dvf format) please let me know.
    thanks!

The Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic allow you to record memos onto a 4th gen iPod nano.
I've noticed your OS is not recent enough for the latest iPod nano, or more importantly the iTunes version required for the 4th gen iPod nano. I'm surprised it works with a 2nd gen iPod nano.

Are you using a compatible headset, do you have it plugged in all the way if you are?

  • Voice recorder apps for iPod Touch 2G?

Hi, I'm searching for a voice recorder app (iPod Touch 2G) that produces an mp3 format. Any recommendations? Ease of transferring to my macbook pro is also a consideration. THANK YOU!!!!

The Griffin one is here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=293673304&mt=8
This is a free app. If you like it, you can upgrade to the premium version without the ads.

  • XtremeMac IPV-MIC-00 MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder

    Hi everyone,
I can't find a recording device that's compatible with the iPod Classic 160GB, but I heard that some of the recording devices for the iPod Video can also be used for the iPod Classic. Is this true? If so, has anyone ever tried using the XtremeMac IPV-MIC-00 MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder for iPod Video with their iPod Classic?
    Thanks.

  • Voice recording - disk sp

I have a 20 Gb Nomad Zen and am interested in doing some voice recording. Before I buy the FM voice thingy, does anybody know how many minutes of voice recording I get onto 20 Gb?
    TIA

Just tried a short test voice recording with my Zen Touch. Looks like the start / stop of voice recordings are virtually unlimited, but the duration of all recordings added up cannot exceed 0 hours. Recording is in .wav format and I used Nomad Explorer to transfer from Zen to PC. Files could easily be burned onto an audio CD this way.
I bought the Zen Touch in Australia, and the FM / Voice recorder / wired remote came bundled with the deal for AU$399.00. I believe the wired remotes individual cost is around $50.00. The FM radio is very good with autoscan and about 20 preset station saves. It houses the built in mic with a small LCD readout depicting the tuned in station frequency or the track being played or the duration of the current recording etc.
I have only been playing with this unit for a week, and by no means consider myself to be an expert. Hope once again this helps you.

  • How can I use my iPod Classic (6th Gen) as a voiice recorder?, How can I use my iPod Classic (6th Gen) as a voice recorder?

I just bought an iPod Classic, and in the shop, the demo model had a "Voice Recorder" option on the menu, and I read somewhere that my ipod could be used as a voice recorder, and I was just wondering how to do this? Do I need a microphone??

Yes, you'll need to purchase a microphone for it.  Just do a simple Google search for iPod Classic microphone, and should get a number of good hits.  Here is one such product that would work.

  • How do I convert my old iPod into a voice recorder?

PART No. MA003FB/A iPod 60GB White Model A1136 Serial No. 4J547DUSSZA purchased in June 2007
iPod (5th generation)—also known as iPod with video or Fifth Generation iPod 2005/2010 click wheel.
(It is not a nano, shuffle or touch, it may be a classic or just an older iPod)
How do I turn this iPod into a voice recorder?  What do I need to buy and will I need to update the iPod software.

    Hi Patdean,
Yes, you can use your 5th Gen as a voice recorder. I used to do this with mine. You have to get an external microphone for it, and it has to be one that connects through the connector port, not through the headphone jack. Later generation ipods will take a mic in the headphone port, but not this one. There are several companies that make them, mine was a Belkin Tune Talk, and it worked really well. No additional software needed. To make a recording, use the wheel to go to "Extras", and plug in the mic. The voice memo recorder won't show up on your ipod until you plug in the microphone, and once it does, hit the record button, and you're good to go. Check on Amazon or someplace similar, I think these are still being made, but be sure to check compatability with your ipod, as not all dock connector microphones are compatible. Hope this helps!

  • How can I use my ipod touch 2G as a voice recorder?

I'd like to use my old ipod touch as a voice recorder. It's an ipod touch 2G (8 gig) using iOS 2.2.1. I tried updating the iOS but an unknown error (-1) occurred. I'm using iTunes 11.3 on a MacBook Pro 10.7.5. Any ideas?

    Error (-1)
    Try on another computer
    Also see:
iOS: If you can't back up or restore from a backup in iTunes
    Then see:
    -1 error
    -1 error too
If still problem  that means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If you get it to work I then the 2G iPod has a built-in Voice Memos app but you will need to purchase an microphone since the 1G-3G iPods did not have built-in mics. The mic plugs into the headphone jack.
