How do i download a dvd onto ipad2?

I am trying to download a dvd onto my ipad2!  Any help please? Windows XP

You don't if your DVD is a commercially recorded DVD, because of DRM protection.  If you have an issue with this, complain to the entertainment industry.  If your DVD is not a commercial DVD, and you recorded it yourself, there is an App called Handbrake you could check out in the App Store.

  • How do I download a DVD and transfer it into iMovie?

Okay, so I have a few DVD and quicktime files I want to make into a movie. However, iMovie won't recognize them when I try to import them. Plus, how do I download a DVD onto my computer. It's sort of a home movie kind of thing and I want to send it to someone. And oh yeah, I don't understand a word of computer jargon, so in plain english if you could. Thanks.

    Hi
There are no program as standard in a Mac that can copy a DVD to iMovie.
You need to do it another way:
    • Roxio Toast™ can back engineer to streamingDV that iMovie can read/import - or -
    • Use a DVD-player and a miniDV tape Camera and copy to tape. This iMovie can import.
    Else:
    A. don't put a mini DVD into Your Mac unless it’s a trayloaded DVD burner/reader
    B. Read what Karsten collected:

DVDs are in a socalled delivery format (mpeg2), which isn't meant and

for using the iLife apps, you have to convert'em first, in
recommended order, choose one of the following tools/workarounds:
    • DVDxDV (free trial, 25$, Pro: 90$)
    • Apple mpeg2 plugin (19$) + Streamclip (free)
    • VisualHub (23.32$)
    • Cinematize >60$
    • Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
    • Toast 6/7/8 allows converting to dv/insert dvd, hit apple-k
    • connect a miniDV Camcorder with analogue input to a DVD-player and transfer disk to tape/use as converter
    • Drop2DV (free) a free tool claiming to convert DVDs into dv-stream...
    • Use iSquint for your conversions : www.iSquint.org

If it's a home DVD copy the files to the computer.  If it's a commercial DVD you don't because it's illegal to do that and also against the terms of use of this site to even discuss.

I am assumming these DVDs are your own personal property and are NOT rented or borrowed DVDs.
Once again, assuming that you own these DVDs, I recommend using Mac DVDRipper Pro to extract the content from your PERSONAL DVDs. I have it installed on my computer and it rips DVD's at maximum speed and uses very little processing power.
You can find more info. about Mac DVDRipper Pro at the following link...

How do I download a dvd i have purchased from a source other than itunes to my ipad?

Commercial DVDs are generally encrypted. In the U.S., it's illegal to break that encryption. Because of that, the Terms of Use of this forum prohibits discussion of software or methods.
If the DVD is not encrypted, Handbrake is probably the most commonly recommended software.

How do I download my DVD Lightroom 5 on my iMac with no DVD drive? Is there another way to get the program on my computer? I have a trial copy currently on my computer.

Just download the version from Adobe.com here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=Macintosh&product=113
and use your serial number. This is the current version and newer than what is on your DVD.

    How can I download IOS5 for my iPad2 3GS without a computer?

First off, you should post your question in the proper forum section.  This section is for discussion about the Thunderbolt displays, not iPads.
but to answer your question, you can't.  Since you are currently running version 4.3.3, it doesn't have the over-the-air software update feature.  That feature came out with version 5.0.1.  You will need to use a computer (or use a friend's computer or take it into the Apple Store) to update the iPad.  Once you have updated it to iOS 5, then you will be able to get future updates without a computer.

  • How do I download a DVD to my iMac?

I'm new at this, have not tried this before.  I have a privately made DVD of a one-act play I produced this summer.  I want to download it to my iMac so I can upload it to my website's server.  I have not found a "download" feature under Finder or elsewhere, nor does the DVD itself indicate a download feature.  Maybe the latter is the problem and the DVD will not let itself be downloaded.  But I'm not sure of this.  I will ask the DVD maker.  But meanwhile I ask the community if anyone can tell me how to download the DVD.

I've never used Mac DVD Video Converter
I looked at Mac DVDRipperPro... but was put off by the $.
I've been very happy with Handbrake.  The price is right (free )... and it has plenty of options for the output of the final video format.  It is a little more complex, but the built-in presets are helpful in that regard.

  • How do I download Mountain Lion onto my other iMac, after the initial install?

I am wondering how to download Mountain Lion onto my second iMac, after the initial install.  I understand the purchase is for multiple computers, but I have completed the install on my first iMac.

Once you’ve purchased Mountain Lion, find the installer on your Mac. It’s called Install OS X Mountain Lion.app and it should have been downloaded to your main Applications folder (/Applications).
Right-click (or Control+click) the installer, and choose Show Package Contents from the resulting contextual menu.
In the folder that appears, open Contents, then open Shared Support; you’ll see a disk image file called InstallESD.dmg.
    Launch Disk Utility.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disk image into the bottom (empty area) of Disk Utility’s sidebar (on the left).
In Disk Utility, select InstallESD.dmg in the sidebar, and then click the Open button in the toolbar to mount the disk image’s volume in the Finder. The mounted volume is called Mac OS X Install ESD, and it also appears below InstallESD.dmg in Disk Utility.
Select Mac OS X Install ESD in Disk Utility’s sidebar, then click the Restore button in the main part of the window.
Drag the Mac OS X Install ESD icon into the Source field on the right (if it isn’t already there).
Connect to your Mac the properly formatted hard drive or flash drive you want to use for your bootable Mountain Lion installer.
In Disk Utility, find this destination drive in the left-hand sidebar and then drag it into the Destination field on the right. (If the destination drive has multiple partitions, just drag the partition you want to use as your bootable installer volume.) Warning: The next step will erase the destination drive or partition, so make sure it doesn’t contain any valuable data.
Click Restore, and then Erase in the dialog box that appears; if prompted, enter an admin-level username and password.

  • How do i get my dvds onto my ipad 2 for free and easy i just can get it atall any help would be great.

does anyone know how i put my dvds onto my ipad for free. i have tried a few things but cant get them to work any help would be great.

If the digital copies are compatible with iTunes and iOS devices, there will be some sort of redemption code or other link that will obtain the movie from the iTunes Store, at which point it will automatically be in iTunes.
Note, though, that there are digital copies that are not compatible with iTunes (ones that use the Ultraviolet protection scheme, for instance). Also, many DVDs and Blu-Ray disks offer digital copies only for a limited time after the movie is first released, so the offer may have expired by now.

  • How can I download a dvd into I Movie?

I have various dvds of my daughter's dance performances and I would like to compile them and make a movie.  How can I download the movies into I movie?

When you start up Handbrake, you will need to identify the source that you are copying. I assume you have an Optical drive by which you can read the DVD. Then it is a matter of clicking on the various options for the copying process, especially insuring you know where the copied file will be. It wil be in an MP4 format, which can then be viewed by Quickplay or QuickTime.. It can be also be imported into iMovie, using the import function under the File menu.

  • HT4095 how do I download a dvd and add it to my library?

Q:  HOW DO I "BURN"A DVD  TO MY COMPUTER??

What sort of "DVD" are you referring to? A commercial video DVD or a movie or TV show? If that's what you mean, then sorry but breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries) and hence Apple explicitly forbids such posts. We're therefore not allowed to discuss it here.   Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on computers and portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature. Walmart/Vudu also has a service that basically gives you a digital copy of a DVD you already own. See:
    http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer.
