Go to the iTunes App Store, sort the applications by release data, and look at the older ones; these are likely to be compatible with iOS 4.2.1. If the iPhone is a 3GS or newer model, it can be connected to iTunes on a computer and updated to 6.1.3.

I click update on the app or try to purchase an app and it asks for my password. I enter my password, the icon spins and then just goes back to saying update or purchase. I have tried resetting my settings and shutting my phone off and nothing has seemed to work.

  • How to install downloaded app on to iPhone

How do I install a downloaded app onto the iPhone?

When you get an app from the App Store, it automatically downloads and installs. The installation process is not separate from the downloading process. To download an app, simply go to the App Store and tap the price of the app. That button will turn into "Install" or "Buy App", and tapping that button will start downloading the app.
The app will appear on your Home screen. Flick between the pages to find it. If you can't find it, use Spotlight search to find it. If you are running iOS 7, pull down on the apps to reveal a search bar; if you are running iOS 6 or earlier, flick to the left of the leftmost Home screen page to find a search bar.

how do i download information from my iphone 4s to my computer

What sort of information ? You can copy purchases from iTunes to you computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For documents/files in apps then it will depend upon what the apps that they are in support e.g. transfer via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc. Or you do mean something else ?

  • I'm trying to use my iPad mini for the first time with a previous apple ID and password but it will not connect to iTunes but I can download apps from my iPhone using the same appleID and password and it works on my iphone...PLEASE HELP NOW

I'm trying to use my iPad mini for the first time with a previous apple ID and password but it says "iTunes is not working try again"...it allowed me to download an app on my iPhone using the same apple ID & password but all my apps are in "Waiting Status" on my iPad mini because it says "iTunes is not working"...PLEASE HELP ME NOW!!!

Previous user installed iOS 7 beta on that iPhone.
Take it back and get your money returned. You
are running into a new security feature. Whoever owns
the ID that it is asking for is the only person who can
remove the security. That iPhone is worthless to you.

  • Is there any way I can just update the apps on my iPhone using iTunes on my PC?, Is there any way I can just update the apps on my iPhone using iTunes on my PC?

I have more than a 100 apps which I do not use but are there in my iTunes library! My iPhone has only a few (40) updates. As I am not allowed to use office wi-fi to download or update my phone apps, I want to use iTunes on my PC for the same. But I do not want to waste time searching for the apps on my phone and then update it using iTunes. Also, I do not want to update all the apps in my iTunes Library as there are more gthan 100. Can anyone suggest me a method where I can just update the apps that are on my phone using iTunes??
I have the latest iTunes installed.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss.  To use a device with a different setup you transfer the old library from a computer or a backup directly to the new setup, not the device to the library. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • How to re-download apps to 3GS iPhone?

My Step-Mom just exchanged her old iPhone 3GS to a new iPhone 3GS. She did not backup her phone to iTunes. The new phone is completely "raw", is there a way she can automatically download all of her apps to her new iPhone? I was told in another forum she needs to download them one by one. She has over 4 pages of apps. Is there a simpler way, maybe taking the phone into an Apple store?
    Please let me know.
    Thank you.

All iTunes content that was on her old 3GS should be in her iTunes library on her computer including 3rd party apps. Sync Apps should have been selected under the Apps tab for her iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. With this selected, after an app is downloaded with the iPhone, the app would have been copied to her iTunes library on her computer the first time she synced her iPhone with iTunes after doing so. The same applies with music.
If her iTunes library does not include any of her apps, she didn't have Sync Apps selected for her iPhone sync preferences and the only way to get the apps back is to re-download all apps one by one - with iTunes on her computer. Follow this by selecting Sync Apps under the Apps tab for her iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and select the apps in the window below she wants installed on her iPhone followed by a sync. She will not be charged again for a purchased app as long as she uses the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
An Apple Store cannot change or do anything about this.

  • How can i download apps for my iPhone 3G?

Is they any other way i can still down load games / apps for the Iphone 3G?
keeps saying:- incompatible with this iPhone...
it wont let me install Candy Crush Saga or even someting like Angry Birds. I have one upset little boy!!!
    can anyone advice me?
    Regards

Please do not contribute to electronic waste and discard a device that works perfectly fine. There are hundreds of thousands of apps for iOS 4.2.1. Apple does not make it easy to find them, for obvious reasons. A Google search for
    "angry birds" "requires iOS"  -4.3 -5.0 -5.1 -6.0 -6.1 -"5 or later" site:itunes.apple.com/us/
will give your son a choice of over 2,000 angry birds apps.

  • How do I get apps from my iPhone to iTunes?

My iTunes account has 20 apps.  My phone has 40.  When I select Sync in iTunes on the Apps tab it says that all apps on my iPhone will be replaced with apps in my iTunes account.  How do I get the 40 apps on my phone into iTunes?  Thanks in advance.

Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • How do I transfer apps from my iphone to iTunes when I've reinstalled my pc

    Hi,
'because of issues with my PC, i had to reinstall it. I transfered
my apps and music to an external hard drive, and transfered it back to my PC later on. Anyway, I had some apps that I didn't copy to my PC before the "reinstallation"
so my question is: How can I keep those apps when syncronizing my iphone to itunes now?

Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes(under the edit menu). Connect your phone, Store>Authorize this Computer, then File>Transfer Purchases.

  • How do I download app updates in the new iTunes?

A few apps of mine have updates that are too large to download via data and wifi on my phone has been broken due to water damage. I used to just go to "Apps" in iTunes, select "Updates," download all that were available and sync the updates that way. I cannot find ANYWHERE to download app updates in iTunes 11. Assistance?

At the top left is a dropdown where you can select what you want to look at eg Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books and Apps. Select Apps the check for updates button is bottom right.

  • How does one remove content from iPod/iPhone using iTunes 11

Well, I can more or less get content on my mobile devices with iTunes 11 (managed manually, as I've always done).  How do I get it off?  I have a series of files formatted as audiobooks (continuing education). I put them on my iPhone (for in the office) and iPod (in the car to work).  Now I'm done - and can't get them off.  Going on the Music app doesn't allow me to remove an audiobook, and that's never been an option on the iPod.  When I try to do it through iTunes, I get the following:
Pod:  I can at least FIND the files on "On This iPod", but cannot find any option to delete (and I tried both del and command-del).  I ended up having to set it up to sync, which I dont like as I typically (for space issues) keep my audiobook library on an external disk - anything I put on the Pod has to stay on the hard drive till I finish listening to it.
Phone:  I can't view the content on the phone other than apps.  Via iTunes, I can't even see what's there, much less do anything with it.
Am I missing something?  There seems to be no option to manually manage media anymore - I can't do it without syncing, and that requires me to leave everything on my hard drive indefinitely.
If anyone's found a solution I missed (other than the process to revert back to 10.7, that is), I;d appreciate a point in the right direction.  Mahalo!

When you click on your device you are presented with the pages
    Summary
    Info
    Apps
    Tones
    Music
    Movies
    TV shows
    Books
    Photos
To remove Audiobooks depending on the type of Audiobook ie a series of mp3 files you will find under music and probably have to deselect the album name to remove it. I don't have any of these as I download from Audible or I use Audiobook Builder to stictch together mp3 files into m4b files. To find these Click on Books you will immediately see a section for books (in reality ebooks). Scroll down past that and you will see Audiobooks where you can select and deselect. Deselect the required Audiobooks and Click Sync

  • How do I delete songs & podcast from iPhone using iTunes on new MacBook Pro

I have recently bought a new MacBook Pro after years of using PC.
First thing I have to say is that I love it. I've had a couple of problems here-and-there but these have been teething issues which these discussion boards have mostly helped me resolve... I have been unable to resolve this one issue though which I was hoping that someone could help me with....
I have plugged my iPhone into my new Mac and let it appear in iTunes but when I attempt to delete old songs or podcasts from the iPhone it does not let me delete them... I've tried holding control and clicking on the items- hoping that delete would be an option, but it isn't. Also I've notice that delete is not one of my options in the edit tab at the top of iTunes.
I understand that I can delete individual podcasts and albums/songs through the iPhone itself by swiping right and selecting delete but when I do this for All individual episodes of a podcast then the main header for the "show" still remains...
Would love if someone could help me with this- need to be able to manage the songs and podcast on my iPhone.
    Thankyou for your time.

"Ok- but what if I want to manually manage the songs and podcasts on my iPhone and somehow loose access to the computer which I used to put said songs and podcasts on the iPhone in the first place?"
The you would ned to use the backup copy of tht computer to put everything on the new computer.
"  Is there a way in which I can manage/delete the content on the iPhone using my new computer without retoring it to factory settings and starting all over again?"
You do not have to restore it, but you cannot access the music at all from this other computer until you sync it, which will erase the content.
"And just to clarify: I don't have any problems with playing the content that remains on my iPhone, it's just the managing and deleting of this content."
    I understand completely.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
