How do I download current music and apps to new ipod touch from old ipod touch?

My daughter is getting a new IPod Touch and we aren't sure how to transfer all the apps and music to the new one. Does it download easily from her account when she registers the new IPod. We don't want to have to buy everything all over again.

You can sync as many ipods as you like to one computer.
Plug in the new one and sync whatever you lime to it.
Everything that is on the old ipod should be on your computer.

Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?

It probably means that only one of you can use iCloud or at least sync calender/contacts with it. I would guess that you could manually manage the other phone as you have before.

Well... there really isn't any fully legal way to do this.
The simplest solution is to continue sharing the same iTunes purchasing acct, but create different ones for iCloud (assuming that's why you needed to do the split).
Slightly less kosher: Burn AUDIO CD's, of the music then copy them back to your new account.
BE sure to do this from original acount, To keep the music info, you'll copy over the CDDB file (in prefs somewhere) - since this maintains the data of CDs that you've had in library.... (it isn't carried over onto a user created CD.)

Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. It is ultimately up to the user to manage their content and ensure it all exists in an accessible location.
