I'Ve bought a book via Kobo. I can't open the book as I get a prompt saying I need to sign in via my Adobe ID. Any advice on how to do this!

Adobe has killed flash on mobile devices.
If it is a web site requiring flash, look at iswifter in the app store.
Otherwise, download on a computer and transfer the books over.
If it requires adobe's drm for the downloaded textbook -you will need something like blue fire reader.

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so they won't appear in the cloud for re-downloading. Have you not got a copy of them on your computer and/or on a backup ? I recently got my brother's old iTouch iPod for x-mas. In addition to the music i've put on it i thought it might be cool to read books on it so i bought a book ("Tweak" by Nic Sheff) and tried to put it on my iTouch/pod by dragging and dropping it in the section. It told me that i could not do that because i needed to first download the app iBooks. So i proceeded to download the app and put that on my iTouch/Pod and that was all well and succesful, but then i tried again to drag and drop the book. It shows the book as being on my iTouch/Pod when it is plugged into my computer, like it says on my computer's iTunes that the book is on the iTouch/Pod, but when i look for it on my iTouch/Pod i cannot find it in my iBooks app, nor can i find it inany other section or any other part. I'm thoroughly confused. Does anyone understand what i'm trying to ask/Have i explained my problem well enough? Please, pleaseeee can someone help a sister out? Your help would be so greatly appreciated.

p.s. i am not entirely sure about the operating system i have selected, i took a guess at that. it says iTunes 10 on my iTunes. not sure about the iPod/Touch, can not find anything on there.

You should be able to access any book you have purchased from iTunes anywhere.
Do you have settings > iBooks > Show all purchases turned on.

Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software!

Are they described in the store as being in English ? If they are then you could try deleting them from the bookshelf in the iBooks app and redownload them via the Purchased link in the ibookstore in the app : re-downloading.
If they re-download in the wrong language again then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find the books and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

Followed the directions on this page. Books are not listed among the options at step five, only movies tv shows and music, so how do I download my books then? I previously purchased two audiobooks on iTunes. They are available on my iPad, but not here.

If you go into Edit > Preferences then on the General tab on the popup that you get you should be able to select which types of content 'show' - tick the box against 'Books' :
Books then show under your 'Library' - if you select it, are those audiobooks listed there ?
