How do I download OSX Mavericks? It started, but stopped.

i can't get the OSX Mavericks to download. it started. I had to quit, now I can't get it to start again. How do I get to download again?

10.6.8 Definitely has the Mac App Store.
It should show progress in the 'updates' tab of the App Store (but most likely not the purchases tab, for whatever reason 10.6 never shows anything but either an icon in the dock or the status in the updates tab), but you may have to clear out the temporary files and start it over again.
Check to see if there is a numeric folder in one of the following directories:
Mac HD > Users > 'Your Home Folder' > Library > Application Support > App Store
or
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > App Store
Quit the App Store, remove that numeric folder, then try again.

I just downloaded OSX Maverick and now I cannot drag addresses from my contacts to the "To" box when sending email.  How can I get back to dragging groups or individual contacts to emails?

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.
If you agree please send an email to apple feedback for Maverick OS X.

  • HT201364 I download osx mavericks, how do i install? Please help!

I download osx mavericks, but I don't know how to install.  Please help!
    Anyone can teach me?

If it has finished downloading it starts automatically. All you do is click on the Install button. If his isn't what has happened, then the download is incomplete or corrupted or you did not download it from the App Store.

After downloading OSX Maverick you then cant use work. excel or powerpoint. What do i use and how can i recall my word documents etc

Use Office for Mac 2011.  If you have it, open one of the programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and do Help > Check for Updates from the menu.
Otherwise, purchase Office 365 and use that.

  • After downloading OSX Mavericks, my AOL mailbox has disappeared and all the AOL messages get dumped into the inbox along with the gmail messages. How can I get the AOL mailbox back?

After downloading OSX Mavericks, my AOL mailbox has disappeared and all AOL messages have been lumped in the inbox along with my gmail messages. What do I have to do to get my AOL mailbox back?

Linking AOL and gmail?  I don't know what that means.  But if it means what I think it does - that you have the AOL and gmail servers chatting directly with each other through some configuration, I'd definitely disable that.
In general, the messages either aren't deleted, or aren't correctly deleted, or there's a protocol or network error, or some sort of a mail server error.
First diagnostic is a mailbox repair.  Mail.app > Mailbox > Rebuild
Then verify that the credentials are correct and the connection is reliable:
    Mail.app > Window > Connection Doctor
And yes, if you have gmail and AOL chatting directly with each other, undo that.

  • Impossible to download OSX Mavericks from App Store

I would like to upgrade to Mavericks, but I can't download OSX Mavericks form AppStore, because my computer is always smashing into the process. After restart, I see in Launchpad, that the download is in progress, but it is paused.
I tried it several times, but the result is always the same: I have to press power button to get my computer alive again.
I have a MacBook Pro, purchased in May 2010, running OSX Lion. Could anyone help me how to solve this?

I tried with wifi and with cable as well. Unfortunately with the same result.
Some days ago (since 24.11) my computer seems to be totally damaged, because it is smashing always in ten minutes after start. It is no matter if I start a browser or just want to write an email. After a few minutes comes the "beachball"... I think it has to get a clean install, but to manage that, I would have an OSX setup file.
Before 24.11 evening it has no problem except this download issue.

  • I have just downloaded OSX Mavericks and am having a lot of problems with my iCloud account. I get a message "this iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with (and then it quoted my e-mail address) Does anybody know what the problem could be??

As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).
    Many thanks

  • Downloading osx Mavericks

When I try to download osx mavericks it gives me an error message. It says "We cannot complete your purchase, The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." Could anyone tell me how to fix this?

For those like me who can't see the progress of the download happening on that little bar that comes with launchpad, or on the icon that opens up in the dock, here is your solution:
Open activity monitor, go to the network section, and you can see under Data recieve/sec, how fast you're downloading Mavericks. For me the speeds were 500kb/s on average and reached peaks of 1MB/s. It took about 5hrs for me (last week).
I'm downloading it for another computer this week the download is going by much faster. It's a function of your internet connection as well as the number of people trying to download the software.

  • I downloaded OsX mavericks and it doesn't want to instal.

i downloaded OsX mavericks and when i came to instal it a message appeared 'close all applications to instal'. i clicked on it several times, waited, and nothing happened. Then i clicked 'quit instal', the downloaded Os X mavericks disappeared and i'm downloading again. Did anyone face the same problem? Any idea what to do if it doesn't instal again?

    Hi daddyh,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The "Install OS X Mavericks" application will appear in your Applications folder once it is downloaded.
Check the Applications folder to see if it is there, or do a Spotlight search for this file.
Double click on the Installer file to begin the installation.
The file will be removed once Mavericks has been installed.

  • How do I download osx Lion v 10.9?

    How do I download osx v 10.9?

There is no Lion 10.9. 10.9 is Mavericks, and you can download it for free through your App Store application.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?

  • How do I purchase osx mavericks for a new install?

Sold my Macbook Air to my daughter. How does she load OSx Mavericks after erasing the HD? Get the message that we must use the Apple ID that was used to purchase Mavericks? I can do that except then the machine has my Apple ID not hers.

Did the machine initialy come with Mavericks or with an older OS? Also what is the model number of the Air?
You cannot change the Apple ID from the purchaser you will need to go back to the original OS and then your daughter can upgrade to Mavericks.

Are you connected via wifi? If so, and it is an option, try connecting using a ethernet cable. It sometimes seems to help as it can give a more reliable connection for the 5.3gb download.
If you do manage to download it you may want to make a copy of the installer file - which gets downloaded to the Applications folder - before running it as it self-deletes on successful installation. It may save you another monster download in the future.
