How do I download Photoshop CS5 on my Mac OS 10.7 Lion?

I just paid for my photoshop CS5 extended, and am trying to install.  The Akamai Download manager says that it is not compatible with the Mac OS 10.7.  I know there is a way around this what do I do?

If you have the trial version of CS5, you can just enter your newly acquired serial number into it.  Try downloading said trial version from the regular Adobe downloads site.if you don't have it.
The serial number alone is what determines whether you have the standard or the Extended version of the application.  The download is the same.

    It's not possible. Serial numbers are platform specific. Even if you install the CS5 trail version, it won't activate with your PC serial. Your only option is to upgrade to Creative Cloud.

    Britz00 do you have another computer available with an optical drive?  You can copy the install files from your DVD and then transfer it over to your Macbook Air.  Alternately you can download a trial of Photoshop CS5 and then input your serial number.

    2. in the next tab, please open this link:- http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    3.Download both the files & save it to desktop,
    4.Now you can install.

    Don't know who you are or who you're with, sorry to have caused trouble. But, the problem is with Adobe. Either they offer an upgrade or they don't. It is very convoluted and frustrating on the website, they owe users more!!!!!! I followed THEIR links to this forum and posted my question. I would think that if you are with Adobe at least you would provide a link rather than angry criticism.

    if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies. 
    the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com). 
    failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

    Tessa, if you orignially got CS5 from the Adobe online store, you can log on again, and the link will be there in your Orders page.  I don't know how it works if you started with the DVD, but John sounds like he has sorted you out.
    Just checked, and that's a handy page John.  It is now bookmarked on my system, and I'll wager by most other people who view this thread.
    I'll add a me-too for backing up.  I lost a raid0 array a month or so ago, and it had hundreds of hours of video editing on it.  (time invested - not edited video)  I had a nearly up to date copy on another drive, but I also run Shadow Protect which can be set to record changes to the backed up drives every 15 minutes as a background process.  You can also make a virtual copy of your boot drive, and a bood CD that will have you up and running five minutes after a complete boot drive failure.  One of the best $100 I ever spent.  You don't even know it is there until you need it.
