The iPhone should appear to the computer as any other digital camera would. Photos are not extracted using iTunes. You need to use your photo management program.

You don't - not directly anyway. You can download the music again in the purchased tab of the iTunes app on the iPad. You will not be charged as long as you use the same Apple ID.
You can also transfer the music into iTunes on your computer and then sync the songs to the iPad. This will only work for music purchased from iTunes.

I am looking for an easy way to transfer the videos I shot with my iPhone4 to my iPad2 (wireless if possible).
iCloud shares only photos as far as I understand. Dropbox also doesn't work for me because I want to access the videos with apps like iMovie.
I am thankful for any support.
PS: If it comes to any desktop related solution I work with Windows ;-)Due to thier usually large size, I don't believe they will auto transfer via icloud.

When I sync my Iphone to Icloud, my photos are downloaded, but none of my videos are there. Is there something else I should be doing?
Photo stream does not support videos, only photos. iCloud only stores your camera roll videos in your device backup; it does not sync them to your other devices.
You can import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then add them to your iTunes library and sync them to your other devices. You could also explore other cloud services such as DropBox, which will upload your videos and make them available to your other devices. -

Yep.
However, importing pics/videos in your camera roll DOES NOT involve syncing, & you can import these directly to your computer. Launch iPhoto, connect your phone, import. If iTunes launches, quit it.
That's all you have to do. You can import camera roll pics/videos to any computer you want. -

Plug the USB cable into PC & iPhone. An autoplay will then show your phone as a connected device and ask what do you want to do. Either click on "import pictures and videos" or "Open device to view files". I use Open device to view files as I like to have control of what is downloaded. The rest is easy.
