How do I edit a template I created?

I searched through past discussions and I'm still not getting anywhere. I can open the template but can't make any changes. I know it's probably me but it's a bit of a pain in the whatsit. Please help!

Once opened the material in a template should be editable. Test by creating a new text box or shape on the page and see if you can add to it or change it or type into it.
If you can't edit material that means it is locked or a master object. Unlock the items under the Format menu.
I am not on a Mac right now but Make master objects selectable is in Advanced at the bottom of the 3rd menu from memory. You may need to also unlock the Master objects if they are also locked.
If you are still having problems click on my blue name and email me a file to look at.

    Hi Atrec,
If you don't need your old custom template, save your changes with the same template name. It will tell you that this template exists and will ask you Replace? Say yes (if you do want to replace the old with the new!)
To delete unwanted templates, go to Finder > Menu > Go and press the option key. Your Library will show in the Go Menu. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iWork > Numbers > Templates > My Templates.
Delete any unwanted template by dragging it to the Trash or click on it then command-delete.
Having gone to all that trouble to find My Templates folder, right click (or control click) on it and Make Alias. Drag the Alias to any convenient place for a quick way to get back to that folder.

  • How do you edit the template image that appears at the top only in portrait mode?

I am using a customized version of the iBooks Author template which has the space image. I have replaced the images for the book cover, chapter and section. But I noticed that when you rotate the ipad to view the entire TOC, the original space image is still there. How can I edit the template image that appears at the top of the Table of Contents only when you rotate the ipad in portrait view?

I just tried w/that template - switched to Portrait mode...tapped once to select that image....cut - gone. Switched to Landscape...not there. Back to portrait...still gone.
    What process did you use?
Can you repeat your issue with a fresh book?

The resource limits set for a profile are enforced only when you enable resource limitation for the database.
Enabling and Disabling Resource Limits While the Database is Open
    ALTER SYSTEM SET RESOURCE_LIMIT = TRUE;

  • How can I edit an iMovie project created on one machine on a different one?

I created an iMovie on one MacBook, and want a colleague to edit it.
I created a dropbox folder, moved all the files there; i can see them on the other Mac, but the project doesn't show up in the project window in iMovie on the other Mac and I can't open it there by browsing to it in Finder...
    Can anyone help?

I think you can transfer an iMovie for iOS project from the iPad and edit it on iMovie on the Mac. This works fine.
However, you cannot start a movie on iMovie for the Mac and transfer it to iMovie for the iPad.
    Think of it this way.
Say that iMovie for the Mac has 1000 features*, and iMovie for the iPad has 400 features*. These 400 features map one to one to an equivalent iMovie for Mac feature. Because there is a good mapping, you can transfer and edit.
But if you go the other way, iMovie for Mac has 600 features for which there is no corresponding feature in iMovie for iPad or iPhone. So there is no way to edit an iMovie for Mac project on the iPad.
    * I made these numbers up for illustration purposes.

    Hi,
what's your Fireworks version? You should be able to edit and modify any state in an animated gif without all the States to modify.
Now all depends on what you have in your States. For example, if you have symbol 1 in State 1, you duplicate your State and get symbol 1 in State 2. When you modify symbol 1 all the symbols 1 will be modified at the same time.

  • How do I edit image viewer slideshow created in CS3, in CS4?

I apologize for posting this twice...once in a previous post and once here. The reason being...the other post was old (2008) and I'm afraid it might get overlooked. So I thought I'd create a new discussion.
I created a bunch  of slideshows in CS3 using Insert - Media - Image Viewer. I was looking  for an easy way for my client to update the site themselves. Even  though it creates a Flash element, it is easy for them to go in and  switch out the images. All they do is click on the slideshow box, hit  Window - Tag Inspector and click on the little folder at the side of the  Image URLs' line. Nothing could be simpler. Well...I went in to see my  client to show her how to do this but she has CS4. When I tried to do  the same thing, nothing looked the same. The tag inspector did not have  the same elements in it at all. Does this mean she cannot edit the  slideshows I have created? Ugh...
If anyone can help  with a work around to this...I'd be very grateful!
    Thanks.
    Pam

Thanks for your reply via e-mail David. I tried to reply but it's a no reply address so I'm posting here:
Do you happen to know if my client who has CS4 would be able to open the slideshows I created in CS3 using the method mentioned here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Bridge/3.0/WSCF044571-2772-4d28-9EBD-2C9F46AF008A.html
Not having CS4, I can't even play around with it to see. Or will the slideshows have to be recreated in CS4? Has my work in CS3 over the months gone to waste in other words?
Alternatively, would it be better for us both to purchase a $29 Dreamweaver extension such as the one below, so we could both access the slideshow from CS3 and CS4 at the same time?
    http://www.dwuser.com/flashslideshow/v3/
I need to keep building the new site using the slideshows while she maintains the old site (no slideshows) until we upload the new site this summer. I don't want to continue building slideshows she cannot access.
Thanks a lot for your help!

  • How do I edit a site I created on my desktop, onto my Powerbook??

So I created a site on my G4 Desktop using iWeb -
then when I logged into iWeb on my new Powerbook, I couldn't access any of the sites (which are stored on my iDisk)
How do I open or transfer over the page info to be able to edit from my second computer which also has iWeb?
    Is there a way??
I published my sites to folder, then copied that folder over - and iWeb wont let me open it... any advice??

wow - not entirely show HOW it worked - but it did!
    Thanks!!
Now this is merely copying today's version onto my powerbook correct?
    Let me explain -
I just transferred sites from my Powerbook to my G5 office computer...
My sites now open up in both...
But my Question is - If I go back and edit something on my Powerbook - the G5 Office computer version won't change, correct?
There is no way to sync the pages up via iDisk yet?
AND LASTLY - to confuse matters -
My original iWeb pages are on my G4 Desktop at home... So I have three Computers that I'd like my sites to be on...
If I go add my G4 desktop sites to my powerbook sites and vice versa - they won't erase whats already there, right?
And the duplicating on that program you gave me, thats not duplicating anything on the idisk, right? just merely converting sites so they can be transferred?
Let me know if I lost you... LOL

  • How can I edit a word file created with Export PDF?

I can add text boxes, but I can't add text in other places.

    Hi Jkostka,
For starters, please try triple-clicking in the text block that you want to edit. If that doesn't work, we would need to take a closer look at the PDF that you converted. Do you know how it was created? If you don't, please open it in Adobe Reader, and choose File > Properties. The document creator is listed in that dialog box.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • How to create editable PDF template for XML Publisher reports

    Hi,
I have got a requirement to have some editable fields in one report whose output is in PDF format.
I tried looking and saw this can be done using the XML Publisher report and using PDF template.
But I got only Adobe Acrobat Reader and it does not have the facility to create Form fields.. Can you let me know what software I need in order to create the editable PDF Template.
In the user guide, it didnot mention anything regarding this.
Can I create editable PDF report using RTF template or do i have to got for PDF template only?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
To edit PDF template , u need Acrobat writer, which is not free .
I am still wondering what is this ?
"" Can I create editable PDF report using RTF template ?? "".
What is editable PDF report. ?
i think what you tried to mention is ,
can the PDF output from xml publisher is editable ?
If that is the question , so here is some points,
If you have Acrobat Writer or prof.edition, you can edit all the PDF documents irrespective of being from where it is generated.
To make you understand more of XMLP.
You create RTF template in word, so that , after merging with xml you can have multiple output formats like PDF, XLS, EFT,.....

  • How to remove Editable region from nested template?

I'm trying to remove an editable region from a nested
template while retaining it in the parent template. DW doesn't want
    to let me do this.
    Example:
    - I've created an overall template call ALLPAGES.DWT
    - In it, there's an editable region called "related links".
    - The "related links" will stay the same for all my main
pages (welcome, news, info, etc), so I'd like to create a nested
template called MAINPAGES.DWT where the field is locked.
    So here's what I did; I started a new page from ALLPAGES.DWT
and then I created a template MAINPAGES.DWT from it. Now I want to
remove the editable region "related links". According to the DW
manual, I should be able to highlight the region and go to
Modify > Templates > Remove Template Markup, but that
    option is greyed out!
Apparenlty the only way of removing the editable region is to
create a smaller editable region within it. But that's unnecessary
and sloppy. How can I remove the region entirely?

    I really disagree with this.

I spent quite a bit of time using them, tweaking them,
    understanding them,
and watching the problems that others have had here on the
    forum. My
compelling conclusion is that there is nothing you can do
    with nested
templates that you cannot do more simply and with far less
    trouble by using
other methods, some involving other kinds of template
    regions, and some
involving simple use of Library items, or better, server-side
    includes.

This is not only unkind, it's completely erroneous. Far and
    away, I am the
single most enthusiastic proponent for the use of templates
    on these boards.
Perhaps a read of my book would help you rid yourself of your
    attitude, too.

  • How to edit a templates HTML stucture?

Created a page with the standard "two level tab and sidebar" template and found it to have the users name in the lower left corner $APP_USER.
A search for the origin of this name lead me into the flow_020200 schema where I found the wwv_flow_templates table to have a CLOB column "footer_template" that contained the HTML I was looking for.

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The door to the user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your users Library will appear about halfway down the list.
