How do I edit bookmarks in Firefox 6?

I am running both Firefox 5 & 6 and I can't figure out how to edit bookmarks. What's the secret?
Thanks!

"Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4 and later.

  • How to save/backup bookmarks in firefox 5.01?

    Dear Support,
Please teach me how to save/backup bookmarks in Firefox 5.01?
    (1) On the File menu, there is only "Import" option but no "Export" option for me to export or save my Bookmarks.
    (2) On the Bookmarks menu, there is no "Manage Bookmark" tab as some online help suggested.
    Thank you.

  • How do I import Bookmarks from Firefox 28.0 into Firefox 29.0.1?

How do I import Bookmarks from Firefox 28.0 into Firefox 29.0.1? I am running OS X 10.7.5 and just updated Firefox from 28.0 to 29.0.1. How do I import my old 28.0 bookmarks into 29.0.1? I've tried all the suggestions but nothing works. WHERE are my old bookmarks? Help, please!

Your bookmarks can be imported and exported from the Library (Bookmarks Manager).
*Go to the clipboard icon, click Show All Bookmarks <i>OR</i> press Cmd + Shift + B
*Once there, you'll see Import and Backup (see screenshot), you have a choice to choose between backing up as a JSON (Import and Backup -> Backup) or HTML (Import and Backup - > Export bookmarks to HTML)
Once this is done and the file has been backed up, you can import them using the same method (Import & Backup -> Backup for JSON/Import & Backup -> Import bookmarks from HTML (HTML)
One of our awesome contributors explained the difference between a JSON backup and a HTML backup that is very explanatory:
Restoring a JSON backup will replace all your current bookmarks (you get a warning about that), so if you already have bookmarks that you wish to keep then export them to an HTML file before restoring the JSON backup.
You can import that HTML file after you have restored the JSON backup to get your current bookmarks back (you need to remove duplicates).
You can't import a JSON backup to add (merge) bookmarks.
Importing bookmarks from an HTML file adds the imported bookmarks to the already existing bookmarks, so you may need to remove duplicates.
An HTML backup doesn't support tags and annotations, so if you want to preserve those then you need to use a JSON backup.
A JSON backup doesn't preserve the website favicons, so you need to visit a website to get back that favicon.

  • How do you backup bookmarks in Firefox 11.0 and restore

How do you take and backup the bookmarks in Firefox 11.0 being there is nothing under the menu's of where to go. Also how do you restore a backup in version 11

nanceal, <br/> Maybe your problem is the integration of the Gnome or Unity Desktop and the Firefox User Interface in Ubuntu. Try clicking in the strip at the top of the bookmarks library adjacent to where it says Library. Do the options then appear ?
I am using Ubuntu 11.04 with <s>Gnome</s>('''edit''' I posted a Unity example) Desktop and Firefox 11 so my setup will not be identical to yours. I have attached a screenshot .

  • How do I transfer bookmarks from Firefox 3.6 on one computer to Firefox 4 on another computer?

I have a new HP 6720 Pavillion Desktop using Windows 7 and downloaded FF4.0 to it. I have bookmarks in FF3.6 on an older computer using XP and have exported Firefox to a jump drive. I need step by step instructions on how to get my old FF profile info including bookmarks transfered to my new computer.By the way, I need the same instructions for transfering my Outlook email files and address book on the old computer to Thunderbird on the new one. You can export the bookmarks using Firefox 3.6 to a json file, then restore that file to Firefox 4 on the new computer. For details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks

  • How to import /export bookmarks in Firefox for Mac

I wanted to export my bookmarks in Firefox for Mac, in htm or pdf format. Cant find any command for that. Nor any import from htm or pdf. Nor can I list all my bookmarks aplhabetically ; I have lots of bookmarks in different folders and I want to see all these bookmarks listed with no folders.

In Firefox for OS X, you can export your Bookmarks to HTML via the Bookmarks dialouge window.
Open your Bookmarks dialouge via the Menu bar: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks.
When the new window has opened, this is what you can do to export your Bookmarks: https://support.mozilla.org/media/uploads/images/2012-09-16-05-44-02-10bc19.png (or view the image attachment).

  • I got a new computer and installed Firefox, but don't know how to transfer the bookmarks from Firefox on the old computer.

This has to be one of the the most common problems that people encounter. We all get new computers every so often, and we all need to keep the old bookmarks when we get a new computer and install the new browser.
I feel like I must be among the small minority of people who do not know how to do this. My older computer is not dead, it just got old (it uses XP). I have been keeping it around until I get all of the data from it. Any help in doing that would be greatly appreciated.
I am now using Windows 7.

Firefox also makes regular backups of your bookmarks in a folder named bookmarkbackups in your personal settings folder. You can restore the backup to your new Firefox, but unlike importing the HTML-format file, it is a complete drop-in replacement, so if you have saved new bookmarks you do not want to lose, the export/import method may work better for you.
By default, Windows hides your personal settings folder so the easiest way to access it is from inside Firefox. You can use either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This will launch a window showing your Firefox settings files.
You might want to back up this whole folder if you have other data you want to preserve from your XP computer.
Either way, you should find the bookmarkbackups folder here and when you click into it, find maybe 10 files with dates in their names.
The procedure to restore the file once you have it on removable media or some other convenient place is described in this article: [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]].
Regarding the other files and what you might find of use: [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].

  • How do I import Bookmarks into Firefox from another hard disk that has Firefox installed on it but is no longer the primary disk?

I was running firefox on a desktop. The hard drive became unusable as the primary drive, either due to a software installation that left the operating system unstable or malware or both. The hard drive has been cleaned of malware, but was replaced by a new hard drive which has a new installation of firefox. Operating was and is Windows XP. The old hard drive which is now F:\ is still in the computer. There are many, many bookmarks on F;\ ...Firefox that I need to import the Firefox on C:\. I believe they are the .json files. Can I copy and paste, or import the bookmarks?

  • How do I export bookmarks from Firefox for Mobile (android) to an html file?

I have bookmarks on my Firefox for Mobile v 33.1 that I would like to copy/back up to an html file. Even if I access the desktop version on my tablet I don't see the Show all Bookmarks - Import/Export option. This Android profile used to be linked through the old Firefox Sync to my PC but the issue is that I can't access it from my PC anymore as I just had to replace the hard disk. I have now installed the new Firefox on my PC but it won't sync with the old Android version as the new Firefox Sync is not compatible with the old one. Also when I go under Sync on the Android, it says the email account is deprecated.
Going forward I understand I need to remove account on the Android, update to the new Firefox Sync and newly link PC and Android device. However I have read that If I remove the account on my Android Firefox and set up the new Firefox Sync on it, I will lose my old bookmarks and it will only start saving and syncing bookmarks from then on even if I use the same email address to set it up. If this is the case and before taking this step, is there a way I can copy my old Android bookmarks to an html file?
All suggestions very much appreciated! I'm completely lost.
    Thanks

Tangram that is an answer for desktop Firefox. It does not apply to Firefox for Android.
There is no way to export bookmarks/history in Firefox for Android.
However your Firefox sync account is unrelated to the Firefox for Android profile. You can safely remove the account without loss of data. Then set up a new Sync Account.
