How do I edit borders in numbers?

I have been unable to edit cell borders in Numbers on my iPad or my MacBook Pro.
I've followed all the suggestion online but I am now officially frustrated. It was so easy in Excell.
Why is it so hard in Numbers? Please Apple let's make it simpler.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Correct. I don't see that as a major issue, but you might want to request an 'All Borders option be added to the menu to reduce this to a one step process. The route to send that request directly to Apple is via Provide Numbers Feedback, found in the Numbers menu of numbers '09 (and in the application menu of all or most current Apple applications).
2. You asked:

Something I hadn't tried before in Numbers, but it turned out to be pretty 'intuitive.'
Selecting Allow Border Selection let me select these borders (on the table shown previously) with three clicks (with the addition of a modifier key on the second and third):
Click on the border between C2 and D2. Alll of the border between columns C and D is selected.
Command-click on the border between C7 and C8. All of the border between rows 7 and 8 is selected.
Command-click on the (selected border) between D7 and D8. The segment is removed from the selection.
Now that was 'incredibly easy' and 'intuitive' to me for the reason suggested in my earlier post—although I hadn't previously tried this in Numbers, the behaviour is similar to what I had experienced previously in Pages (and even earlier, if memory serves, in AppleWorks).
After making the selection, I applied an action: set the selected borders to a solid green line, 4 points wide:

When I add a border in Numbers, it looks right but when I go to add another in the same table, the first one disappears -

Method one:
Select the border you wish to change with your cursor - the cursor icon should change, if this doesn't happen you need to Allow Border Selection - look on the toolbar for the double-topped-rectangle with the arrow pointing into it, pull down the menu and this should be the bottom option. So select the border by clicking on it, click again to change the length of the border you are selecting. OR use that same menu in to tool bar to select the borders you wish to change. Now use the menus to the right in the toolbar to change the line, thickness of line and colour.
Method two:
Use Inspector - Table Inspector
Either way, if you select a group of cells that have different cell border properties, your change may not stick - to fix this change it to something else, and then change it back or just change the ones that are wrong.

How can I edit the page numbers I've inserted?

When I click on the insertion cursor, the options in the Section>Page Numbers cannot be accessed. Same as when inserting from the Insert>Page Numbers menu. I tried deleting the page numbers, hoping that the settings would go back to default, only to find that it goes back to the previous style/settings.
I browsed the other threads in vain of a solution. I hope an expert could help. Thanks!

nope. i did this on pages '09 from scratch. i was following a pre-designed template from photoshop so I did every technique i could to make it appear closely as possible to the design.
i achieved the header by inserting tables instead of ordinary text and background.

The only I way I can think of to modify a single value and have that value change in multipl locations is to have all "the other places" reference a single cell. There is not way without a referene to modify a set of cells simulateously.
This may be something like what you want:
Enter a value in the table "Original Data" cell A1 and the A1 cells of tables Ref1, Ref2 and Ref2-1 will change

Can anyone tell me how to edit the contact numbers in the recent call list? Eg. I would need to add a certain prefix in front of the number to return an overseas call in my recent call list. I tried to copy n paste the number after adding the prefix manually via keypad, but this method erases the prefix. Is there any other way to do this besides saving a different number in my contact list?

As it happens, I use my "Recent Applications" menu as a list of "favourite" apps more than as a way to access recent apps. I won't go into too many details of "why", but I do have the "Finder" in there.
I am using "Panther" so I don't know if this still works, but try opening "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and entering this command:<pre>defaults write com.apple.recentitems apps -array-add '/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app'</pre>It may be necessary to log out and back in again for the change to take effect, or the change at least may only be active in apps launched after modification of the file. There may also be issues related to the number of items in the list - it may be necessary to increase the "Number of recent Applications" through "System Preferences", or else clearing the list before entering the above command.
I also keep my "com.apple.recentitems.plist" file "locked" - this prevents items from being dropped through non-use. Despite being "locked", the menu does update during a login session so I still get some "recent item" functionality from the menu. Everything does of course revert to the saved state for the next login, however.
Regarding the "Dock", in "Panther", after "hiding" the "Dock", it is relatively easy to "pause" or restart it, repectively, using:<pre>killall -STOP Dock
killall -CONT Dock</pre>Perhaps these commands could be incorporated into an "AppleScript" application and added to "Recent Applications". However, you will also lose the use of ⌘-Tab application switching, Exposé, widgets, and the ability to minimize windows while the "Dock" is paused. I have just migrated my library from Aperture to photos. All seems to have gone smoothly, except for one thing. All of my photos are 'untitled', whereas in both Aperture, and previously iPhoto, the filename was used for the title. If I hit CMD+I and get info, the title is still there as the filename, as I use the filename for all titles.
Is there a way to batch copy all filenames as photo titles, this was done automatically in Aperture and iPhoto, as when photos were imported the filename was used automatically.
Any help appreciated.

Hold down the OPTION key. The Save As option should appear in the File menu.

Editing Info
Each audio or video file in iTunes has several settings and tags that can be easily modified. These options can be accessed by selecting any file in the iTunes browser windows and selecting "Get Info" from the File menu. You can add song lyrics, artwork and set special playback options. The "Info" tab lets you edit information about the file including artist and album info.

Ok... I see your problem... when pasting into Pages, the formulas from Numbers are included. Perhaps this is really more of a Pages question (in which case I'm far from expert). A couple of ideas:
• In Pages, try "Edit"/"Paste and Match Style", which may insert tab delimited cell values (no formulas). Then, if you want the table format back, select these newly pasted tabbed values and use Page's "Format"/"Table"/"Convert Text to Table"/
• In Numbers, before copying, make a temporary table of the plain values first, then copy and paste that into Pages. To do this, select the range of cells you desire in the Numbers and "Edit"/"Copy". Then "Edit"/"Deselect All" and "Edit"/"Paste Values" and "Edit"/"Cut". Now just a table of values is on the clipboard and you can head over to Pages to paste.
