How do I edit the host file in ipad

I would like to test our site and would like to point the URL to a different server. Is there a way to edit the hosts file similar to how you would do it on other computers?

I tried to edit the hosts file in Lion with: sudo nano /private/etc/hosts. Then entered Password. The window came up blank evev though I know there is data there.

Thanks BD for your response. I have looked at Youtube where they are demonstrating how to do this by using sudo nano /etc/hosts. After entering the Password it shows a screen with the text of the hosts file. On the bottom of the screen it shows the number of lines read. When I do the same thing I get a blank screen and on the bottom it says no file. I am either doing something wrong or this does not work. I even tried changing the permissions of the hosts file to R & W for system, wheel, and everyone. This also did not work. I have not tried Hostal yet but if I can't find a simple way to text edit the hosts file I will give it a try.

I have turned off my virus scanner, unplugged all usb except for iphone, edited the hosts file and run diagnostics which showes communication with apple is fine. There is nothing wrong with the OS update.
Delete ALL your email accounts.
Restart Playbook
Put the accounts back and ensure they are all set with PUSH ON. Manual (push off) will burn battery.
Similarly delete your wifi connections and add back when required.
Turn off wifi is not connected to wifi.
Any "hunting for connection" in email or wifi will burn up battery.

How do you edit the audio files in the slideshow of my idvd project?

I have created a project in idvd and I dragged and dropped in the music files from the audio tab that I wanted - I selected multiple songs (2) and I hear them play just fine. The problem is that I want one song to play for a certain section of the photos and then I want the other song to start at a particular point. Why am I not able to edit the music in the slideshow and how can I do that?

iMovie is a good way to do this if your project is film based. If your using photos (slideshow) in iDVD, I would be inclinded to use GarageBand to edit the audio portion of your project (It may be just me, but whenever I've attempted to create a slideshow in iMovie, the photos look "grainy" to me, not as clear).
If you know the time of when you want your songs to change, you can adjust the length (time) of each song in GarageBand as well as fade in/fade out transition of the two or more songs. After saving, you then can access the saved audio mix via the audio tab in iDVD. (I'm making an assumption that one might be familiar enough with GarageBand to do this

Can you edit the HOSTS file on an iphone?

Is there a way to edit the iPhone equivalent of an /etc/hosts file? This is necessary to access some internal test/dev resources on our network. Jailbreaking is NOT an option. Creating and installing configuration profiles via the iPhone Configuration Utility would be allowable.

Why? There's no way they are going to pay a licensing fee for something like that.

Which iPad model do you have? If it's an original iPad, it cannot run iOS 6. The highest it can run is iOS 5.1.1.
Generally Error 3194 means this:
Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. FollowiTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

I tried editing through the forms module preperty palette , but could n't change the Title, or file name on forms menu screen ...
I guess , the entries are made through some other means...

using the below code too not getting me the new names entered by me ... still the old title names are comingWhat do you mean by new nemes? It will return you the actual file name which is saved in phycical location and form name will return you the module name which displays when you open forms in builder.
Or you mean something else then its better to provide any example..like what is happening actually with you.

What is the file format of the vector you downloaded? Custom Shapes have a .PSP extension, and are placed according to this table.
Preference filenames and locations in Photoshop CC
They will then be loadable from the Custom Shapes drop down — click on the cog icon > Load shape > Find your downloaded vector.
Once placed in the image, it will appear as a Shape layer, and can be edited with the Path, and Direct Selection tools (black and white arrows on the toolbar)

I have a similar issue with regards to the filename...
When I navigate to my website, it doesnt work unless I actually type the filename at the end of it. Example: type in "www.whitelion.com" (this is my real domain name) and it doesnt work. When I type in "www.whitelion.com/index.html" then it works.
This is obviously inconvenient because my clients will never know to add the filename to the end of the site.
Is there any setting or way to get the page to appear by just typing the original domain name without adding the extension?

That software that is available in the nokia site “nokia phone browser” is not useful! Why?
It is not working unless the mobile device is connected (attached)
It is quite slow when editing the contacts! (attached)
Then why the nokia doesn’t offer a simple software that enable us to edit and explore the content of our nbu files?
Is there some workaround in this regard?

Image shows both NEF +JPEG, how do I know I'm editing the RAW file?

In the Library module I have images that show NEF+JPEG. When I click on the image and go to the Develop module, how do I know that I'm editing the RAW file?

When you go to the develop module (a.) The file type should be displayed and (b.) In the basic panel you will have the option to select the White Balance, if the file were jpeg or tiff i.e. an already rendered image it would only show embedded. See screen capture.
