How do I eject a mini cd from my iMac?, How do I eject a mini cd from my iMac?

My 4-year old put a mini cd into my new iMac. I can't see it. The mac didn't run it. I can't eject it. Any ideas? (PS I live in Nairobi, so would rather not have to try to find a repair shop.)

    Dear Mendel the option;
First, hold the mouse or trackpad while your Mac mini is starting. By doing this, you will force your Mac to eject the DVD.
If it doesn't work, hold Command and S keys while your computer is starting, and once OS X has started up, type:;; dosen't work because i use a wireless mouses o for any operation and command it should be first mouse working and for that porpose the mac should be completly open or started;in order to be aible to use the mouse.

    Ejecting in Mac OS X:
    1. Drag it to the Trash in the dock (it will turn to an "Eject" icon)
    2. Right click and choose "Eject"
    3. Click it once and click File>Eject from thre Finder menu
    4. Click it once and press Cmd+E
    5. If your keyboard has an Eject" key (usually located above the "Delete" (a.k.a backspace) key, you can Eject media from the optical drive with that
ANY files or apps opened or running from the external drive MUST be closed BEFORE you can eject it.

  • How to eject boot disk from mac mini

I have a 1.66/duo mac mini on 10.4.11. I trying to upgrade to 1.5.4, but the installation procedure said that it was impossible on this computer. Now I cant eject de 10.5.4 installation disc

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
After you get the disk out of your computer, is the disk a grey disk from another Apple system? If yes, you won't be able to use it to upgrade, as you need a black retail disk. The grey disks are locked to the systems they are manufactured for and identified on the label.

  • How do you remove a cd from the macbook air superdrive when it won't eject.  all is get is the option to burn a cd when i click eject

Just bought a mini and a dvd superdrive.  was uploading pictures and one cd won't eject when I click on the eject icon.  It will display that I can burn one if I insert a cd, but won't eject the current cd.  How do you override the pop up or manually eject the  cd from the superdrive without taking it to a store or asking for a replacement?

You can also eject a disc by restarting your computer and holding down the primary mouse button while the computer is starting up until the disc is ejected.

  • How do I remove a disk from my mac mini (late 2009)?

I am trying to regain my mac mini (late 2009) which came with OS X Snow Leopard.  WHY?   Because, after spending quite a few bucks, I have tried and failed to find a suitable substitute for APPLEWORKS.  (I still have the disk)
I erased the Mac Mini's memory, so it is blank READY FOR me to install Snow Leopard. I still have 10.6.3 install disks.
    HA HA.   That's a laugh.
    1) After I put it in the MM,& started it up using my 10.6.3 install disk. The install app told me I couldn't install this system on this computer.  WHY WHY?
    2) Now I have a 10.6.3 disk stuck in the MM and I don't know how to get it out.
    Anybody PLEASE PLEASE !!
(Normally I use a MM (mid 2011) but I want this other MM available to me.)

Dear Allan,  Very interesting solutions to a stuck disk.  I'm going to keep it for future.
I finally did get my disk out - because I started up using my Mtn.Lion BU (it's a Firewire) which I connected to my old MM late 2009.  There she was & I ejected it.
And I did finally get my MM  2009 working again with Snow Leopard - with the great help from ds store.
So now I have my Appleworks back too.   YAH!

  • How do I eject the install disk on the mini mac?

In wiping the mini mac, it keeps looping to the erase and install.  It won't allow me to shut down or eject the disk to put in the program disk.  When the screen gets to the Install Mac OS X, it won't show any disk (the Mac Mini) to install it.  I used the Utilities to erase and install, but I can't go any further.  It should install with a system lower than the OS X Yosemite.

  • How can i eject a mini disc?

I inserted a mini-disc on my mac and now I can't see it anywhere and it is stuck
    How can I eject it?

    Well, you can try:
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
      1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
      2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
      3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
      4. Press COMMAND-E.
      5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
            /usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.
But this only works if it's a tray drive. If it's a slot drive all you can do is try to shake it out or take it in for service.

  • How to stop my mac from ejecting CDs without even recognizing them.

My mac OS X version 10.9.4 ejects any CD i insert without recognizing it even in Finder. How can I get my Mac to read CDs?

    Barney-15E wrote:
The reason it spits them back out is because it can't detect that it is an optical disk. There is no way it will read them even if they stayed in.
Give baltwo's suggestions a try, but you may have a failed drive.
Hmm, I wish that my Mac Mini would spit the CD back out. I spent a few hours the other night burning CDs to my Mac. This particular one was apparently so badly beatin up, that it didn't like it. It didn't mount in Finder or in Disk Utility.
I took the CD drive case apart only unable to find a paper clip to push the emergency button in. Thankfully I started Windows via VMware and was able to eject it from there.
If I didn't have Windows, was there anything else I could of done to force the Mac to eject the CD? It's an external Slimtype BD E DL4ETS drive.

  • How do I eject (or get out somehow) a mini cd I slid into my MacBook Pro CD slot (rather stupidly not thinking about its small size not being a good fit)?

How do I eject (or get out somehow) a mini cd (3" size) which I slid into my MacBook Pro's CD slot? (Rather stupidly, I admit, not thinking about its small size keeping it from being a good fit.) And of course, it didn't seat on the cd's spindle, and thus is not being "seen" by the computer as being present when I press the eject button, so nothing happens. Because the CD slot has a membrane covering the slot, I can't see in to locate where it is or to try and slip it out manually, either.
Details about my computer, although I don't know that these are needed, are as follows:
      Model Name:    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:    MacBookPro8,1
      Processor Name:    Intel Core i5
      Processor Speed:    2.3 GHz
      Number of Processors:    1
      Total Number of Cores:    2
L2 Cache (per Core):    256 KB
      L3 Cache:    3 MB
      Memory:    4 GB
      Boot ROM Version:    MBP81.0047.B27

Thanks for your suggestion, although it didn't work for me. The one that did suggested inserting a sticky note - sticky side down to catch the disk - and slowly pulling it out. I was dubious, but it worked just like magic!

  • How do i eject a cd rom from the drive...?

    Hello All!
How do i eject a cd-rom from the the optical drive when the icon doesn't appear on the desktop? Its just spinning and vibrating.
When I try shutting down the mini, everything happens correctly but the drive just spins and doesn't finish... So I had to unplug the unit. Still nothing...
I am the new owner of a refurbished mid-2010 MACmini.
The disc was an old cd-rom from 2003 with a label. I guess I won't do that again.
    HELP!

    Hello All,
I tried several sugestions I read else where and this is what worked for me:
Reboot while holding down option key. Shifted to restore disc and tried to eject from disc utility, but no luck. I went to apple and shutdown except that with the drive spinning it wouldn't complet the task. So I unplugged & restarted while holding down the mouse key. The drive grumbled and spit out the disc! Yay!!! I threw said cd-rom across the room!
I hope that I haven't hurt my new baby mini!
Thanks for all your previous posts. They gave me something to try instead of pulling my hair out!
    Kudos to you all!!!

    Hall Palm Desert,
if your Mac monitor has Thunderbolt ports, and the PC monitor is on the end of the daisy chain, then you might be able to do it by connecting your PC monitor’s VGA cable to a Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter (e.g. Apple, NewerTech), connecting that cable’s Mini DisplayPort end to one of the Mac monitor’s Thunderbolt ports, and then connecting a Thunderbolt cable between the other port on the Mac monitor and your MacBook Pro.

As  Winston Churchill wrote, however you might want to do a factory reset on the Apple TV.
This way all information pertaining to your daughter will be removed from the device. Specifically if see was sign into any of the streaming service, Netflix, Hulu, etc. her credentials will still be associated with this Apple TV, doing  a factory reset will remove all that and make it as if you purchased the device and just plugged it in.
