How do I eliminate the need for my webpages to access Adobe resources during pageviews?

I was testing the download speed of my home page using webpagetest.org and noticed that there are 4 elements which combined take nearly 1.5 seconds to download from the Adobe servers, completely separate from my own server. They are:

I see a good portion of the time accessing those sites is spent resolving the dns. Is there a way to have everything on my site to speed things up? I'm also concerned if one of those sites are having problems, possibly my site won't load at all?

I'd think you have a Keychain problem (Keychain storing passwords and the likes).
When you are being asked, are you offered the checkbox, "Remember this password in my Keychain"? If so, check and see if it stops asking.

Recoding to eliminate the need for PLSQL_NAME_RESOLUTION in 10g

Up until now (in forms 6i) we've been using this workaround, as we have quite a lot of instances in forms libraries where a procedure in the library calls another procedure back in the form. We're now going to forms 10g and realise we need to recode, as this isn't recommended and the workaround isn't supported.
I've already replaced quite a few of the procedure calls in the libraries with execute_trigger commands, but am not sure what to do about those with parameters. For example, in 1 of our libraries we have:

further up in the library is a call to this proc. But this one's only there for compilation - at the moment, the procs in the forms (with the same name) override this one. They all have this library attached. For ones like this with no params, I've been using execute_trigger. But what's the neatest way to deal with the procedures with params?

Package variables work great. Create a package spec in your PLL library with the variables you need to pass. Then, you can address these variables from both the PLL procedures as well as from anywhere in the form.
However, be aware that each time you add another variable to the package spec, any form that uses any variable in the package spec must be recompiled.
If you use form parameters from the PLL procedure, you will need to use the Copy built-in to set their values. Due to the above problem, if you expect to be changing the list of package variables often, then maybe the form parameters is a better solution.

If after clearing history, I am still getting filled in suggestions in Firefox 3.6 user names using Mac OS 10.6, how can I eliminate the suggestions for users and searches?

I made an error when I was filling in a user name. Firefox is continuing to offer this as a suggestion in a drop down menu after using Clear Recent History. I used Clear Recent History, tried restarting Firefox after clearing history, and reinstalled Firefox. I did a search on Google, Firefox and Apple to see if someone else has reported this problem. All gave the same information that I have already tried.

In my case it seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore after the FF update. (and yes, my add-ons are enabled - to answer the tech support people's first question).
For me, the coupon printer doesn't even show up in my Firefox "Add-Ons" list anymore. Is that what people typically see when they're saying the coupon printer "doesn't work" with FF? The coupon printer was visible on the add-ons list before my FF update, and now it's totally Gone! It seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore since the FF update.
When I'm on the coupons.com site and I click "print coupons", it tells me I haven't installed the application. But it Is installed on my computer, I can see it in my folders, and it works on IE, so it's definitely there.
BTW - I have uninstalled/reinstalled the coupon printer application. I have tried all the suggestions on the Mozilla help/forum sites, as well as the Coupons.com web site. I have closed and re-started Firefox after the installation. I have also shut down and restarted my pc after installation. I tried installing the application with Firefox open, and tried it again with Firefox closed. I've even cleared out all my cookies/history associated with Coupons.com.
... I can't think of anything else to try, except for the "solution" of using IE for coupons.
If it Really is a problem on the Coupon.com end of things, do you think it's worth it if we bombard the coupons.com support team with messages saying they need to fix the problem? (or just a waste of time?) ;(

How do I eliminate the "Waiting for sync to Start"

I have too many photos to keep in sync (at least initially) over WiFi, so I plug in my iPhone to keep those in sync.
However since IOS5, I just get an endless "Waiting for sync" message when the phone is plugged in. I even turned it to airplane mode to eliminate WiFi as an option and it didn't help.
Anybody have a clue?

Does getting a new iPad 2 eliminate the need for ATV

I have an iPad and will upgrade to the iPad 2 when it is released. My understanding is that with the new iPad 2 that via an HDMI cable you will be able to connect to your TV and mirror on the TV anything that is on the iPad 2.
So, not to be cynical but if I have my photos and music on my iPad 2 and can use a browser to get to Netflix do I really need ATV? I just bought ATV last week and thinking about returning it if the iPad can do all the same things. One less device, one less remote, one less cable, etc. is always better in my mind.
Not bashing ATV, just thinking out loud.

The Mac mini can do 1080p video output and surround sound through its HDMI port. You can watch video from just about any source in full screen resolution, including Hulu Plus and Netflix using Safari, iTunes or Front Row for iTunes videos, QuickTime or the DVD Player application for DVDs or home brewed files, etc.
It's a Mac and not a dedicated player, however, so it doesn't have the simple, monolithic user interface that the ATV does, but that's not a problem for me as it's easy to control from the sofa using the Mobile Mouse app on my iPhone.
In fact, we just added another Mac mini to the TV in the den, so we now have two. Of course, they are significantly more expensive than an ATV, but with none of the performance issues or limitations.

I would like to do an EXCEL export.
Therefore I like to check if EXCEL is installed or not.
I use 'open registry key.vi' and read out the Excel\InstallRoot.
If there is an installed EXCEL than I export the data using ActiveX.
Everything works like a charm with LV 8.5.
The problem I have is that 'open registry key.vi' useses RegOpenKeyExA from the Advapi32.dll.
RegOpenKeyEx does, in fact, create a non-existing key and returns 0 (ERROR_SUCCESS?).
LONG lRegResult = RegOpenKeyEx(HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, m_RegSubKey, 0, KEY_QUERY_VALUE + KEY_WRITE, &hkRegistry);
Successfully opens or creates m_RegSubKey under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
Is there a way aroun this call?
In fact you need administrator rights to do this call because of the try to write a non exsisting key.
In my case this avoids the EXCEL export and any kind of registry access from LabVIEW without administrator rights.
:-) Who the hell has done this ;-)

Did you try to wire a "KEY_READ" constant to the security access mask input of the open registry key VI? I had a similar problem, if you just need to read a key or check if it's present use read access only, that should work.

I have updated to the latest form of Mozilla Firefox, and the top of the screen is altered so that it occupies far more space than it used to do, leaving far less space for what I want to look at. Why are there spaces between bars? Why are the tabs deeper than they used to be or need to be? How can I eliminate the pointless top bar which merely duplicates the information in the tab bar? Is there any way of simply restoring the previous arrangement?

Okay, I accept that this is just how it is, and there is nothing to be done about it, because no-one except me thinks that the icons and toolbars should be organised to take up minimum space in order to allocate maximum space to the page.
The crowning irony of all this is that, having updated to the latest Mozilla Firefox and consequently having this arrangement at the top of the page which I don't like, the middle of the page now comes up with its old message, 'You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade now.'
