How do I eliminate unwanted objects in shot?

Hi all,
I have a tracking shot I want to utilize, but have to truncate this due to the fact that there is an unwanted reflection of a crew member in the chrome frame of the set table. Is the use of masks the most obvious solution to this problem and does this have to be implimented frame by frame? Any tips on ensuring the removal of these objects are seamless? Thank you in advance for any help?

I'm thinking that aftereffects has a motion tracker that can track a spot on the video where your unwanted object is, without seeing your footage, but making an assumption that a shinny mirror like surface was in fact what you had the reflection on, you could use the motion tracker to track the reflection and add a little blur and then a little tint possible to match the frames color;
This would avoid the need for you to manually track the reflection, Motion tracking has flows in the way it devolopes keyframes, which will mean you will have the tweak the keyframs to get a smooth motion if the reflection is moving in the video frame;
However this could speed up your results.
I used motion tracking before when I worked on a PC, mostly to overlay new video onto something like a TV image, or to add animation to follow someones hand that sort of stuff. I never used it to remove an object, however if a little blur fixes the issue, and all you have to do is decided where on each frame to add the blur, motion tracking would likly be a big help;
After effects Pro is what includes motion tracking:
http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/matrix.html
I hope this at least give you an idea of how to start, or triggers some thought from others...
p.s. you dont have to use the motion tracking data for a blur, you can use several points and have a mask created for you, or even use that data to clone from another video - once you have the data, you can generally be very creative with how you use that data in your footage.

  • How to mask out unwanted objects in locked-off shots in Prem Pro CS5.5

    hello,
I have Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection.
I am editing a short film on Prem Pro and on some of the locked-off shots where the camera doesn't move there are objects in shot, such as boom mic, that I want to get rid of by painting over them with what would be in the background (either by taking similar background from background nearby or by taking the background before/after the object moves into shot).
I have no idea how to go about this or what software to use. Should/could I do it all in just Prem Pro or would it need to be done in After Effects and or Photoshop or a combination of some or all of these.
If someone could point me in the right direction or recommend an article/articles or book to read to learn how to achieve this then that would be great.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have attached JPGs from 3 clips.
Clip one had the mic visible to the left at the bottom of the shot and also at time the woman's leg goes behind it (example b)
Clip two has a computer monitor just visible through the door at the bottom left corner of the shot.
Clip three, set in park, has a crew member's coat-tie flapping in and out of shot. Example A without it in shot and example B with it in shot.
Help on how to deal with these or advice on books to read to help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • How can I eliminate unwanted horizontal scroll bars from certain pages on my site?

A few pages on my website have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the browser. I have several other pages in the exact same format and none of them have the horizontal scroll. No elements are off the edge of the page or anything. I'm a designer and don't know code, which is why I'm using Muse, but all the forums I've checked so far give coding solutions that I don't understand or know how to apply to my Muse site. Anyone have any suggestions?

Can you post a URL for your site? (You could publish a free temporary site on Adobe Business Catalyst and provide the URL.)
Other than the page being wider than the browser window or there being content that's outside the page bounds, I don't know what else to tell you to look for. If you provide a URL, we can probably detect what's causing the horizontal scrollbar and let you know what needs to change.

Somehow I pressed some keys once and got both Yahoo and AVG toolbars on my computer. I want neither. I have tried to put AVG in the trash, but it is still there. I want to use straight Google for my searches.

First of all, please update to at least version 3.6.17.
The reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

  • How do I eliminate unwanted DNS?

For some time I have used Open DNS on my airport extreme network, now I don't seem to be able to get them out of my network configuration: I can add new DNS, but I cannot delete the old Open DNS because they are greyed out in my network airport dns panel. Open DNS are seemingly slowing down my connection, so I would like to remove them. Is there a way to get rid of them?
    Thank you!

You most likely set them up on your Router. You need to enter your router configuration and remove them from there.

how can I eliminate unwanted addresses in Addressbook V 4.0.6?
If that's what you really want to do, the answer should be obvious: delete them from the contact in Address Book, the same way you added them.
But if you're really talking about removing Previous Recipients, that's controlled by Mail, and BDAqua has given you the method to do that.

  • How do I eliminate delays in transmitting buffered CAN data?

My application using the PCI-CAN Series 2 card is programming automotive modules in a time-critical environment using a MSVC++ application running on Win2000. We need to send about 1.4 Mb of data to the module as quickly as possible, preferably less than 70 seconds. We are communicating with the modules at 500 Kbaud using standard frames (not extended).
Looking at the CAN bus on a scope, we see that the frames themsevles are about 240 microseconds wide, but after each frame of data, there is roughly 300 microseconds of delay.
In my C++ implementation, I have created a transmit object with a transmit queue size of 225 frames. The transmit object is configured to transmit "by call" and the period att
ribute has been set to 0. Using this configuration, I would assume that data would be sent as fast as possible. I am certain that the transmit queue is being filled faster than it can send the data out. What is producing the delays between frames, and how do I eliminate them?
(Attached file contains transmit object configuration and frame writing routine.)

    Hey Glenn,
If all you want to do is transmit as fast as possible, I would recommend using the network interface object rather than a CAN object. This will reduce the overhead and should improve your performance. Use a large transmit queue length on the network interface object, and try to keep the queue full. This should maximize the output of the CAN card. Other things to be aware of: what is your total bus utilization? If other devices are transmitting on the bus and the CAN card is losing arbitration, you could see a big performance hit. Also, make sure you are using the latest NI-CAN driver (2.2). There have been performance increases over older drivers (1.6 and previous specifically).

  • How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

You could probably use the 8 point garbage matte in this situation. I personally think the 8-point garbage matte is a bit cumbersome, but it should get the job done.
    1. Use the Razor Blade tool to place a cut before and after the shot with the bottle.
    2. Select the bottle clip.
    3. Press and hold Shift + Option, then drag the bottle clip up one track. This should create a duplicate clip directly above your original clip. (I'll refer to this duplicated clip as bottle2.)
    4. Locate the 8-point Garbage Matte filter and apply it to bottle2.
    5. Locate the Gaussian Blur filter and apply it to bottle2.
    6. Control click bottle1, and uncheck the "Clip Enable" setting from the shortcut menu. This will disable that clip.
    7. Double click bottle2 to load it into the Viewer. Then select the Filter tab.
    8. For the Garbage Matte filter, you'll notice 8 rows of numbers, these are the current locations for the control points, which you should be able to see in the Canvas. Start with point #1, and click the "+" button in the filters area, then in the Canvas click and drag to move the point. When you release the mouse button, you'll need to reclick the "+" button in the filters tab. Repeat these steps until you've isolated the bottle.
    9. Feather the edge of the matte.
    10. Adjust the Blur amount.
    11. Reenable bottle1. Playback the clip and make any necessary adjustments.
Depending on your experience with Motion, you might also want to try sending bottle1 to Motion, then use Motion to control the layering.

It would be best if you post a representative picture, indicating what you are trying to delete, and, how you are going about it.

  • Making and unwanted object disappear

I took notes while listening to the videoclip about removing unwanted objects and  tried to apply what I had learned to a photo that had some telegraph wires I wanted to remove. I am working on a Mac OSX 10.7.5.
I right clicked on the spot healing brush , selected the 'content aware' option but couldn't get the wires removed. Then I  also tried to lasso the wires. I  selected in the Edit menu, the option 'fill'. I repeated the exercise three times but the wires did not disappear.
I also tried again one time lassoing first but then got this message:
"Could not rasterize because the pixel data for this layer is not directly editable."
So I then had to undo the lasso in the edit menu at the top of the screen.
Where could I have gone wrong?

    Hi Randy
Thank you so much for trying to help me. I am a complete novice with Photoshop and am trying to teach myself from the videos so I apologise if I appear incompetent!
I tried to do as you suggested. I clicked on the image and then at the top scrolled down and discovered that 'RGB' was already selected so left it selected. I then selected 'Layer' on the top of the screen and scrolled down but could not find ‘root layer’. The only choices available were: new, duplicate layer, new fill layer, new adjustment layer, smart objects, video layer and none of these had an option of root layer in their drop down menus. Have I misunderstood you?
Also was I supposed to lasso the wires before following your instruction?
In addition, I have tried to insert the image to send to you and failed to do that too- how frustrating! I clicked on the camera symbol above  this box , then 'choose file' from my computer , clicked on the image I wanted to insert and despite  it coming up in the dialogue box and  clicking 'insert image'  nothing happened. I closed the dialog box and the image was not attached.  I tried twice more with no luck. I don't think the link below will help you as it appears to be a link you need to use on my computer not for someone else to access from afar.
    file://localhost/Users/Leora/Desktop/My%20Pictures/USA%20and%20Canada%202013/IMG_1870.
I am truly sorry for not understanding your instructions but would really appreciate further help
