How do I enable AHCI?

I have installed a new Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSD drive that replaced a Samsung 256GB SSD. However, i am unable to get the computer to boot with I select AHCI mode in the BIOS drive setup. I can only boot in the RAID mode and Magician then tells me to activate AHCI for optimum performance.
The following system information is provided:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
Chipset: Intel (R) C600/X79 series chipset LPC controller - 1D41
Storage controllers: Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller 12.8.2.1000
RAM: 32 GB
Does anyone have suggestions on how to proceed? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
If you have an active RAID array then you need to backup your data before switching from RAID mode to ACHI. Do you have an active RAID array? Be sure to create the external HP recovery media before you do anything.
Leave the existing SSD (boot drive) connected for now.
Install the latest IRST driver.
Go to MSCONFIG and set the PC to boot in Safe mode.
Power cycle your PC all the way up in safe mode then power down in safe mode.
Power up and boot into the BIOS and enable ACHI and disable secure boot. Save the changes.
Reboot your PC. If OK at this point then go back into MSCONFIG and uncheck safe mode boot and save the change.
Power up your PC and if OK then power off.
Connect up the new SSD and power up.
Now use the Samsung Migration software to clone the old SSD onto the new SSD. Review the limitations.
Power off the PC. Unplug the old SSD and plug the new SSD into the old SSD's SATA port.
Power up and you should be good to go.

Dv6-6135dx - How to Enable AHCI in bios for use in Windows 7 64bit

I bought the dv6-6135dx notebook some time back.
I recently got a Solid State Disk and I would like to turn on the Trim, feature.
To turn Trim on I need to enable AHCI. There is no such option in bios. How can I turn AHCI on?
I found an unlocked version of the bios that turns on apparently disabled menus, but that may or may not corrupt the bios and I'd like to not have to resort to that.

That can be done by using Windows Regedit feature. It is imperative that you make a copy of the registry before you commit to the change.
Use regedit with extreme care. All changes that you make take place instantly. That is why it is critial to have made a copy .

How to enable AHCI for HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k015dx Sleekbook

Hello,
I upgraded my hard drive to a SSD and that is done. Laptop works fine. Installed the Samsung SSD software and it says I need to Enable AHCI to get the SSD running at full potential.
I searched the BIOS and do not see anyplace to change this. I then went to the Device Manager in Windows 8.1and I do not see any ATA/SATA controller. All I see is a RAID controller. RAID controller in a laptop?
Can someone tell me how to enable the AHCI?

Hi:
Because your notebook is a consumer notebook there is no way to change the BIOS setting to AHCI.
The BIOS is defaulted to RAID on your model series because some models come with one of those hybid drives with a SSD cache and for some technical reason those have to be configured in RAID 0 mode in order for the setup to work right.
It is my understanding that if you install the latest Intel RST driver, that is supposed to provide TRIM support for SSD's starting with the Intel Series 7 chipset, and yours has the series 8, so it should have full support for using an SSD even in RAID mode.

Also put root in the dba group.
The permissions turn out like this:

I stopped the listener, bounced the database, and started the listener again.
But it still shows the process being owned by oracle:

So recently I have had a problem with Firefox crashing all the time and found out it was an add-on that was causing the problem.
I have tried opening Firefox in safe-mode to disable add-ons but they are already disabled, so I want to know how to enable an add-on and then to permanently disable it so Firefox will open normally again. . .

I have updated to Firefox 23 and it disabled my Java and Flash plugins. I then updated these to Flash 11.8.800.94 and Java to Version 7 Update 25. Now these are showing up on the plug in page but are showing "disabled" with no option to enable. How do I enable them to view content on the web.
