How do i enable gestures on my wireless lenovo trackpad

Hi all. I have a Lenovo Wireless Touchpad K5923 that I just picked up for $10. I'm on 10.9.5 with everything working as it should. When I plug in the usb dongle for my multi-finger gesture lenovo trackpad OS X sees it as a keyboard. It works as a mouse, 2 finger scroll, 2 finger tap for right click. It also picks up 3 and 4 finger swipe. 4 finger swipe down in safari pulls up option to save current page to bookmarks, 3 fingers left and right make the cursor jump from word to word in this text i'm currently typing. My point is it is picking up the multi-finger gestures. How do I make this emulate a magic pad? Please, if you're not technical don't reply with "Just buy a magic pad." I don't have the money right now, and even if I did... This is somewhat of a hobby of mine... Making unsupported devices, software etc... work (With the help of the "hacker" community. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A couple of things I've found (in the five minutes since I got my $10 touchpad too.)
- OS X thinks it's a mouse, so things like tracking speed are controlled by the mouse control panel.
- Mine doesn't support two-finger right click, but it does support right click by clicking on the "R" on the trackpad.
- Mine won't do one or two finger swipes to change pages or fullscreen apps.
- It does do "pinch to zoom" and zooms the whole screen. You might have to turn this on in accessibility.
- Four-finger swipe in Safari does bookmarks like you said.
- "Natural" scrolling is actually inverted.

Multitasking Gestures weren't offically added to iOS 4.3, but some developers have access to them.
Take a look at the iOS Developer Program to become a developer. If you just want the gestures, try a Google search.

[solved] How to re-enable wireless without rfkill?

After disabling networking with KDE's network manager's Airplane Mode and rebooting, the network manager no longer recognizes my wireless card. All the articles I can find suggest using rfkill, but I do not have rfkill installed, and I'd rather not go through the hassle of trying to install a package without internet access.
I've had this issue before, and I saw a suggestion in a forum somewhere to check a specific networking-related file that listed the networking devices (I think) and enable it there, which worked last time. The problem is, now I can't find that forum post, and I can't remember which file it is that I need to check.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can enable my wireless this way?

Part of the original issue is that when this happened, I did not have rfkill installed. That being said, once I installed it and recreated the issue, the output was:
rfkill list:
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
Interestingly, after I ran
rfkill unblock 0
the issue persisted, though Wireless LAN was no longer listed as blocked. I tried rebooting afterward but to no avail. The only way to fix it that I could find, even with rfkill, was to modify /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.status

Did you Option-Click on the Airport menu bar icon to see if the Mac is connecting to a channel that is 136 or greater, and if it says 5GHz?
Also are you measuring your speeds between computers in your home? Or are you expecting your internet speeds to increase?
If measuring speeds in your home, what was your test? For example, I've tried copying files, and discovered that the destination disk drive was too slow. I've also tried different file transfer protocols and found them to behave differently. Apple File Sharing (AFP) was fairly good. But there is also CIFS/SMB, scp, sftp, ftp, rsync, carbon copy cloner over the net, etc...
802.11n between computers in your home or to a TimeCapsule backup device should allow faster transfers.
However, 802.11n will NOT make your broadband connection go faster, unless your broadband service is in the neighborhood of 30 megabits/second or faster. An 802.11g WiFi setup can easily handle 25 megabits/second speeds. The other 802.11n benefit is in a dense neighborhood, where WiFi base stations are stepping on each other, 802.11n offers more non-overlapping channels.
Finally, not all 802.11n base stations are created equal. I know that in the early days, some vendors were offering the 802.11n protocols, but using under powered hardware that was lucky if it could sustain 50 megabits/second when other vendors were easily doing 100 megabits/second. That was a few years ago, so I expect things have changed since then.

How do I use TC as a wireless hard drive?

Im new to these forums and to mac in general.
I just bought a TC TG thinking that I can use it for both backing up as well as a wireless hard drive for my macbook pro
aparantly I know heard you can only use it for one or the other
Is that true,anyone know?
If not is there anyway I can use lets say 500 gb for back up and the other 500 as extra storage space?
if thats not a possibility,how to i just use as a wireless hard drive?
I have already set up TC and backed up,which took almost 2 days

You can use it as both. In your Finder, it should appear as a networked drive in the left panel. Mount it and you'll be able to copy files to and from it, as well as delete them. And you'll still be able to use it as a Time Machine backup disk. You'll have to enable file sharing in your AirPort Utility under Disks first if it isn't already enabled. This is going from memory so there may be a few discrepancies. If anybody can correct this, please do.
You can't partition the drive though, so if you're going to use 500 GB for backup and 500 GB for other things, you'll have to manually monitor how much space is being used by the backup.

You can have a go using a wireless bridge.. eg the airport express will do this.. you can join it to the iphone wireless running as a hotspot.. and then plugged into the TC wan port.. the TC has to be setup in router mode.. so this is going to give you double NAT errors.. and of course errors for all the time the hotspot is turned off.. but it can work. However you might find it requires you to manually connect up each time.. If you are really going to try and do this you will manage it.. but how fiddly it becomes might put you off after a week.
You will chew up your 5GB very fast using any streaming media even radio. So be very careful to track the usage.
Apple should have built in the TC the ability to plug in a wireless 3G modem.. via the USB but Apple have ceased to do adventurous stuff.
If you give up the TC as main router there are plenty of better products on the market that will handle multiple wan connections.. !!

Are you using a router that has you connected to the printer through Ethernet or wireless? If so, there should be an icon in the top left corner of the the printer display screen that resembles a piece of paper with a blue target behind that. Tap that button to enable web services and then accept the terms and conditions. That should enable web services and then offer to print an info page that will have the printer code and the setup instructions.
Otherwise, if you are getting a failure to connect to web services error, please write me back with an exact error message and we can proceed from there.

If you had enabled find-my-iPhone before it was lost, you could track it as long as it had a data connection - either 3G or wifi, doesn't matter which just so long as the iPhone and the iCloud servers can talk to each other. But, in order to track it at all, you need to enable the find setting under your iCloud account's settings on the iPhone before it goes missing.
After it has been lost (and without the tracking setting enabled), with or without a data connection, there is nothing you can do to track it remotely.
