How do I enable Hyper V in C-540

Hi, I know this is very common for windows 8 users, but I don't know how do I do it? I pressed F2, F10, del, but it seems not working. How do I enable the Hyper-V? I need to go to the BIOS for that but unable to go to BIOS using the keys. I am unable to start my Windows Phone 8 apps development as that is very much required.

I come to know that Microsoft and Lenovo both are real culprit here. first Microsoft selling a Windows 8 Home edition through "Windows 8 Single language" license. They don't even care to publish the details of the OS version - Pro or Enterprise.
Next Lenovo is making the life difficult to run the Windows 8 emulator, First Hyper-V which is not installed in Windows 8 Single language and then Intel virtualization technology is behaving in a weird way. even though it is enable in the BIOS, Hyper-V finds it as a disable mode and asking the user to enable it again.
So the main question is "any BIOS update will fix the issue?" Or any patch from Microsoft windows 8 will fix the issue? The answer is really unknown to me. Only one, who can solve it is Microsoft and Lenovo both. But it will only happen if they are willing to. Developers put a lot of effort for windows 8 development, and windows phone 8. Please help them. I bought this system only for this development purpose and already invested a hard-core earned money of whopping 62K. I will be helpful if any of the community member take a note of this, and put into the lime light of Lenovo core team members.

Hyper-V is an installable option, check the control panel Program and Features to see if it is available for install.
If you use VirtualBox, you will have to install an operating system in a VM.

How to enable Hyper-v on Mac Mini

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini Server with 2TB HDs and 16gb of ram.
I have Windows Server 2008 R2 installed with bootcamp, everything works fine except it will not allow me to enable Hyper-V under server roles. The error tells me that I need a processor that supports virtualization(which I know the i7 in this mac mini should) or that it needs to be enabled in the BIOS.
I know macs do not have bios, its EFI.
The purpose of this windows 2008 install was to run Hyper-V images created by Symantec Backup Exec for redundancy(the server that backup exec is installed on has issues with Hyper-V)
My questions:
Why would windows think that VT-x is disabled?
How can I enable VT-x?
Is any of this even possible?

Rob, welcome to the forum.
During boot you should continually tap the Esc key to enter the BIOS. I am not certain that you will find Hyper-V as an option in the BIOS. Most of HP's BIOS'es are kept very simple with only the necessary settings.

UPnP doesn't work after enabling Hyper-V role on WS2012R2

Hi,
We have stream/media player which use File share on WS2012 R2. It uses UPnP protocol to connect on File Share and it works fine. But, after enabling Hyper-V role on that server machine, stream/media player can't connect anymore on network share, cannot see
any network computer, I would say master browser service is corrupted.
Do you have advice, how to use UPnP on server with enabled Hyper-V role and virtual network adapter?

Have you tried doing things in the opposite sequence? Try first installing and configuring Hyper-V and the virtual switches you will be using. Then install the media player. Maybe the media player is losing track of things when its underlying
network is changed.
Of course, Microsoft does not recommend this configuration. It does not recommend running any other service on a host that is running Hyper-V. That does not immediately imply it will not work; just passing on that what you are doing is a non-recommended
configuration.

While I do not have any experience with Virtualization, I do recommend taking a look at this resource on How to Enable and Use Client Hyper-V, as well as Run virtual machines on Windows 8.1 with Client Hyper‑V. I am not certain if this processor has hardware virtualization support, it appears that Windows 8.1 pro and enterprise may have built in capabilities.

Also put root in the dba group.
The permissions turn out like this:

I stopped the listener, bounced the database, and started the listener again.
But it still shows the process being owned by oracle:

So recently I have had a problem with Firefox crashing all the time and found out it was an add-on that was causing the problem.
I have tried opening Firefox in safe-mode to disable add-ons but they are already disabled, so I want to know how to enable an add-on and then to permanently disable it so Firefox will open normally again. . .

In Firefox 4 and later [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and also disables hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
You should still see a Disable button or Enable button (if you disabled them all) in the extension Manager (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) if you start Firefox in Save mode.

You probably should not be using a keyboard bluetooth profile for a scanner, I am not a developer for apple so do not know the location for you to find out the correct profile you should be using for an input device that is not a keyboard. Sorry,

I have updated to Firefox 23 and it disabled my Java and Flash plugins. I then updated these to Flash 11.8.800.94 and Java to Version 7 Update 25. Now these are showing up on the plug in page but are showing "disabled" with no option to enable. How do I enable them to view content on the web.

You can set the pref layout.spellcheckDefault to 2 on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
