How do I enable Java after SW Update disabled it for Flashback?

I think I need it to play Yahoo games. I went to Safari Preferences and checked Enable Java. (Enable JavaScript was already checked.) But when I click on a Yahoo game, the page loads, yet the game doesn’t appear. I thought I could just enable Java when I wanted to play, then disable it when I wasn't. Obviously this isn’t urgent, but if there’s an easy and safe way to play, I’d like to know.

How can I enable java applet plug-in and Web Start applications via terminal?

Since the last Java update to Snow Leopard, I have found that the system periodically disables the Java applet plug-in after a period of disuse. I know I can go to /Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences and just click to re-enable Java. But I want to write a script which will do this periodically for a couple hundred Mac users where I work.
My question is - how can I reenable the Java applet plug-in and web start applications via Terminal command? Is this possible? Is there a plist file that can be modified, etc.?

It is my understanding that Apple's most recent Java update automatically disables Java after a certain period of time that it hasn't been used. We don't want users to have to keep re-enabling it. So we wanted to find a way to do this via script either run by a Casper JSS server or stored locally on each workstation. With the guidance provided by Mark Jalbert above and some text from a script written by Rich Trouton, I was able to make a script (with some minor changes) and a launch agent to re-run the script upon login. So the preference is always enabled.
For your reference, the script content is:

How do i enable java 7 plugin on to firewall

ok so the macbook air comes with java 6 installed but i changed my java pathway on a game (minecraft) to java 7 because i needed java 7 to run it. so now i did but to enable playing in lan party i need to allow access from the java 7 to my firewall the regular java that comes with the mac which is java 6 is there since its not a plugin but java 7 is a plugin so i need to know how to allow java 7 through my firewall?

According to Oracle to enable the Java plug-in
Go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences.

How to always enable Java 6 with Firefox 18

I implemented Firefox 15 with Java 1.6.0.35-b10 to be used with a particular Vendor's website. The site has no internet except for accessing this vendor's website. Several weeks ago Firefox 15 updated itself to Firefox 18 and blocklisted Java 6. I was able to unblock it, but now each time the users log into the vendor's website, Firefox prompts the user to activate Java 6. My users are nagging me to turn this activate screen off but i cannot figure out how to permanently activate Java 6 on each of these machines. The vendor is not willing to upgrade to Java 7. I have tested Java 7 with the vendor's site and of course it doesn't load. Consequently, I cannot get this machine to roll back to Java 6. Once they activate Java 6 they can use the website. I could switch back to IE8 and use Java 6 with no problem, except that IE8 has a flaw in it. I have read that I cannot install IE9 on Windows XP pro, so I am stuck with Firefox. Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 18, and Java 6.

Here is the whole story. I recently moved to iMac 10.5.6 from PowerPc 10.4. On this new machine I was having problem running a 3rd party application, which requires JVM. As this application worked well on Tiger, I decided to upgrade JVM on my iMAC using Software Upgrade(was I insane!!). As I like my systems to be updated (as with linux on my personal machine) I clicked "install all". As a result I have the following upgrades run on my machine:

How do I enable java for a given website

I cannot seem to enable Java in Safari for any given Website. There is no instructions for doing so. All that is presented when under Preferences > Security > Enable Java "Manage Website Settings" is a blank frame with nothing to select or check or type in. I am stumped.
