The problem was created when Apple added the "swipeup" feature to your home screen (ios7). When you swipe up to bring up those often used functions like camera, calculator, etc, it is WAY too easy to accidently touch the Portrait Lock button near the top of the screen. There is a row of round buttons there to turn off or on various functions; the one on the far right is portrait on or off. If you want your screen to rotate for you, the button must be black: white freezes the screen so it won't rotate. I have the wi-fi and bluetooth white (on), but the others are black (off).

I have had this same problem for weeks now with my 4S. I just got a new 5S after being extremely frustrated and the same thing - no sounds. After searching posts all over, I couldn't find a solution. I just told my friend of the issue and he asked "Do you have the Do Not Distrub on?" I didn't even know such a function existed. Upon looking that was exactly the issue.
To resolve, go to Settings> Do Not Disturb> Manual. If it is green, turn it off. You will now get phone calls and text alerts.
This functionality is also on your quick access utility menu (slide up menu). I assume this is how it was enabled on my phone.
I will post on other sites since I searched for weeks for this solution and didn't see it anywhere. Good luck!

1. Make sure the volume is on. Check that the machine makes other sounds.

Though I'd be surprised if it would be very useful. Things have changed a lot on the internet since that came out. An old version of Firefox might be better. I don't know where you would get an old version of flash. It is an Adobe product.
3. There are no further updates to Jaguar 10.2 than you already have, 10.2.8 that was the last update.

The following Assumes a Recent Windows Operating System is installed on your computer...
The Photosmart 7520 allows you select when you would like to receive Ink Alerts:
Right Away -- as soon as there is a need for attention
Only when you initiate a print job
The Full Feature Software installation procedure places the Printer Assistant shortcut on the Desktop.
Install Full Feature Software – Photosmart 7520
Open the Printer Assistant shortcut > tap on the Estimated Ink Levels icon (along the top ribbon) >
Toolbox opens > Select tab Advanced Settings >
Under Show Alerts > CHECK desired setting
Click Close

How can I enable blocked flash plugin on firefox?

A couple of days ago, my computer (mac OS X 10.4.11 PPC) suddenly seemed to stop recognizing that I had flash installed and wouldn't play anything requiring flash - instead a message came telling me to install it.
I uninstalled flash and the installed the latest version for my computer from the adobe website (which is 10.1.102.64).
Computer still thinks flash isn't installed and when I checked plugins I discovered firefox has blocked it telling me the version of flash I want to use is too old (even though the version I've downloaded is the latest I can use with my computer).
How can I enable the plugin on firefox so I can use flash? The 'enable' button on the plugin has been greyed out so I can't press it.
Please help - I'm rubbish with computers so please give any advice in very simple language! ( i have firefox 3.0.4)

hello this should not have happened - mozilla recently uses the blocklist feature to notify users about the outdated flash plugin but not block it.
you'd have to trigger a manual update of the blocklist and hope that this time the correct version is retrieved.
go to tools > web-developers > error console & copy the following line into the code field & hit evaluate:
''Components.classes['@mozilla.org/extensions/blocklist;1'].getService(Components.interfaces.nsITimerCallback).notify(null);''
sorry for the computer gibberish. afterwards restart the browser & see if you can enable the plugin in the addons manager again.

Edit > Preferences. Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.

Yes, you do need an antivirus app for iOS. However, they don't currently exist because Apple refuses to make their 'proprietary' technical OS specifics freely available as open source code or to any Antivirus companies, who could examine and potentially identify security holes. I'm using Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16384 on Windows 8. A bit of Google research suggested that IE10 has a Flash player built-in (similiar to what Google Chrome has) so I looked for a way to disable the player. It seems that this is indeed possible by clicking the Cogwheel icon in the IE10 toolbar and then selecting 'Manage Add-ons'. The dialog which shows up shows a 'Shockwave Flash Object' entry. However, even with the built-in Flash player disabled, the Flash Debug Player installer keeps giving the same message.

Hi. I'm trying to make my application accessible via a screen reader to impaired users. Unfortunately, I'm not having any success whatsoever. If I didnt know Java had accessibility stuff built-in, I would assume that it was just not compatible at all with screen reader technology.
How do I enable the Java accessibility stuff so that UI components are accessible to a screen reader; they can be iterated over and get sensible names and/or descriptions of them?
I wrote a simple application, attached below, which just makes a demo UI from which I can start learning the basics of the accessibility stuff. Out of the box, the UI is completely opaque to a screen reader (I'm using the VoiceOver utility bundled with Mac OS X, which does ok with normal applications).
I tried setting things focusable to no avail, voice over cant cycle through the UI component using the normal keyboard short cuts, and nothing is spoken when I tab between components, despite some things having natural labels, like a menu, and some things, like the button, where i've set the accessible name and description on the accessible context of the component.
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong or I just don't understand how the accessibility stuff works.
Could someone please shed some light on this so that I can make my application accessible to a screen reader?

Ok, so a very curious issue. If I comment out adding the menu bar to the window, ie comment out this line:
aFrame.setJMenuBar(aMenuBar);
The screen reader reads me back everything just like I would expect. I comment the line back in, and nothing, the application is completely invisible to the screen reader.
Anyone have any idea what this is about?
