I keep getting the message telling me to enable third party cookies. The instructions for how to do so tell me to choose the options feature from the tools drop down menu, then to click on "privacy" and check a certain box that would enable cookies.
This check box is not on the privacy menu. What do I do?

    Using the Menu Bar:
*press the ALT or F10 key to get the Menu Bar to '''''temporarily''''' appear
*with your mouse make the selection Tools > Options > Privacy
Using the Firefox button (Firefox 4 & 5):
*click the Firefox button > Options > Options > Privacy
To see the third-party cookies option, at the top of the Privacy panel set "Firefox will" to "Use custom settings for history"

  • How do I enable third party cookies?

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to complete my homework on the My Math Lab website, and this is the message that I keep getting, "You don't have a subscription to this site. Please make sure that the siteid or abbrev is correct. If you are accessing this site from Pearson MyLab / Mastering, make sure your browser settings allow all third party cookies." Is any able to help?
    Thanks

Safari - Preferences - Privacy - Block Cookies : Never
should enable 3rd party cookies, although you might also disable any Safari extensions, in case that's a problem.
Safari 6 (OS X Mountain Lion): Manage cookies
Failing that, remove any existing cookies for them, via Cookies & other website data - Details...
& if still an issue - try another browser to see if that allows the site to work.

So there isn't a Player Settings Manager? I'm trying to find out how to access it. Wait.... nevermind. I guess I should actually READ the instructions.

  • How do I add third party plug-in to Acrobat Pro XI and add things to the main menu bar.

Running Acrobat Pro XI, (CC suite) on MacPro OSX 10.8
Main Menu Bar only shows  'Acrobat    File    Edit    View   Window   Help'.
No Third Party Plug-ins are shown under 'Acrobat' on the Menu Bar
Acrobat Pro 9 (also installed)  shows the Third Party Plug-ins and a lot of other options on the Menu Bar
How do I get Pro XI to look like Pro 9

You'll have to install PitStop again and point it at the new Acrobat when it asks you, or you can open the Acrobat 9 package and copy PitStop from the plugins folder into the same folder in Acrobat XI.
You didn't mention which version of PitStop you have so you'll need to check the system requirements to make sure you are compatible.
    http://www.enfocus.com/en/support/knowledge-base/pitstop-pro-system-requirements?q=system+ requirements
Also be aware of the interface change between Acrobat 9 and XI, you no longer have all the tool bars available on the top, you now have tools in a column on the right.
But you can drag tool icons up to the top and make sets as well.
You can get information on the differences within PitStop here.

  • I can't remove third party apps from my macbook pro.

I have installed some third party apps and now want to delete them. The apps are: MorphVOX, YTD, and Paintbrush. I have tried to drag and drop but unable to do. Please help me. I have macbook pro OS X 10.9.4

I have tried to drag and drop but unable to do.
What happens when you try?  Have you tried holding down the Command(⌘) key and then drag to the Trash bin in the Dock?
Do the apps have an uninstaller that came with the app? Many do.  Check the website for them to see if one is offered.
Do not try to use CleanMyMac, MacKeeper or any of those types of apps to do the trick.  They will damage your system.

  • Third party power adaptor for MacBook Pro?

I am about to lose my second power pack due to under-engineered wiring on these Apple power supplies. The wires are very small and thin, and the strain relief at the entrance to the "brick" is totally inadequate, so the wires end up breaking under daily use. I looked at the iGo website, only to find out that there is some sort of licensing issue with Apple that prevents them from selling tips for the magnetic connectors that are in vogue. Kensington apparently doesn't supply any Apple adaptors anymore.
Does anyone know of a third party company that makes a replacement power supply that will hold up under normal usage for more than a year?
    Thanks

    Hi Justin,
The very first of the square power adaptors (which came with an early white iBook) which we own developed a problem of the kind you mention. Since then we've done one simple thing with all of the many that have followed with a variety of iBooks, PBs, MBs and MBPs, and never lost another.
We simply make a loose loop of the cord around one of the "legs" of the adaptor:
We leave the loop in place both when using the computer and when winding the cord around the legs for transport.
Not what you were asking for, I know, but it has certainly stopped any problems we have had with strain on the cord
    Cheers

  • Third Party Battery Chargers for MacBook Pro

I had a very interesting experience last week. I bought 2 85W power adapters for my MacBook Pro. There is no "name brand" for it. They were about $47.50 each. The price was effective in getting me to buy 2 as it was a 33% savings over the purchase of 2 Mac adapters. The location of the store and name on the internet is: CCS - Calcellular.com - CSPower.com (through Yahoo! Store Order System).
Well, to save me some time, here is a description of the "problems" I had with this adapter:
    Hello,
I bought 2 Replacement Power Adapters for my MacBook Pro. It is 85W as per Apple specifications.
After one week, the first adapter failed miserably. Of a sudden, my MAC started acting sporadically as though there was some sort of a short or something. After a bit longer, my MAC's screen turned black (the power was still on and the adapter plugged into my MAC) and it died! I was afraid that there was a sudden zap of electricity from the "brick" of the power adapter. However, I unplugged the adapter from my MAC, leaving the adapter plugged into the wall. I then tried to get my MAC to work again and, fortunately, after shutting it down by just turning it off by pressing the power button. I then plugged in my old original Apple power adapter and then turned my MAC on again. After a while, the plugged-in "brick" of the power adapter that you sold to me was "cold." It had died! I actually bought 2 of these in the hope that, should one die over time, then I would have another at the ready when the need arose. Well, after the scare that I had with the first one, I was extremely reluctant to use the second one for fear that, maybe, the second one may do the same and actually cause damage to my machine. I just plugged in and kept on using the old one. Today, I got an original Apple 85 Watt power adapter that is now connected to my MacBook Pro. Well, since this "event," I have been having trouble with my built-in FireWire interface as it just fails to recognize my external drives extremely erractically for no reason at all. I have changed the cables numerous times and even cut down the number of FireWire drives down from 6 to only one! However, the problem still persists at the same frequency (about once every 15 minutes after getting the drive recognized again). Now, I cannot reliably back up my data from 2 750G drives to a 1T drive as needed. My iTunes library is more than 200G and needs to be on an external drive and I cannot listen to music without the danger of losing my iTunes directory as well as a numeric level of my DRM rights. This was NOT a problem BEFORE the "brick" suddenly malfunctioned or went "bad" on my MAC. I followed the instructions to the letter about how to use the power adapter included in the box. I also bought this MAC last May.
What can you do for me to "make things right"? I am sure that my MAC requires service as well as repair. However, should Apple deem that it was due to "other than Apple's fault," it could cost almost as much as a new MAC as this "shock" to my MAC may have caused the necessity to replace my current motherboard (over $1600!).
I am, to say the least, very unhappy and I would like to see a "resolution" to this problem that will return my MacBook Pro to its proper state and performance.
    Thank you,
    Anyse
Well, I am letting all of you know that this "replacement" is not worth it and I will definitely keep all of you posted as to how this turns out. At least you can learn from MY own experience, if not stupidity!
    ANyse

Thanks for sharing. Do keep in mind the old adage, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is..." Since Apple has not licensed the MagSafe design, there are no 'official' non-Apple power adapters, so you're either buying a knock-off or a reconditioned one (and with power systems, reconditioned is not a good idea).

  • Using third party headset with Retina Macbook Pro (microphone issue)

    Good day, everyone!
I have very strange issue with my Retina Macbook Pro (Late 2013) OS X 10.9.3
When I plug in my Steel Series Headset, its microphone not recognised by system and only "Internal microphone" available in Settings - Sound - Input.
Headset itself works perfectly fine, because when I plug it to my iPhone, its microphone works without any problems.
Macbook's headphone port also works fine — when I plug in my iPhone original headset to Macbook, its mic works good and I can see "External microphone" in Settings - Sound - Input.
So headset is ok and headphone port is ok. What is the problem?
How to force macbook to use headset microphone instead of built-in one?
    Thanks in advance

Either contact the sales staff at the store where you ordered your Mac from or contact the speaker manufacturer & ask them.

  • Will a third-party replacement of my Macbook Pro screen void my AppleCare?

So I was REALLY stupid, and I'm totally hating on myself right now. I got a new Macbook Pro 15 in March, and today, while having a sort of stressful/panicked phone conversation, I left my macbook on the top of my car. Like a coffee cup. Except worse.
So obviously it fell, and now the screen has a couple nice long cracks along it. From what I can see, it's only the screen that was damaged. So, I bring it in to the Apple store for an estimate, and I get $700.
Basically, coughing up the whole $700 is going to result in me not taking a lower paying/budget-stressing fun job in Japan, since my finances are already looking too tight. My uncle runs a computer repair shop (it was too late in the evening to call him tonight,) and I know he does Mac repairs, but I don't think he's a certified technician.
What I want to know is– if I get him to repair it for me, will it void my AppleCare warrenty? Since I splurged and bought the extended warrenty, I still have 2 1/2 years on it....

It will void your AppleCare warranty. Anyway, you have already voided it because your computer has fallen off. Now it's up to you what you want to do
