How do I enable vertical split on mail with OSX 10.9.2

I do not manage to enable a vertivcal window split on my mac mail. Letterbox plugin is only for older OS versions. Any suggestions?

That's not a feature of Mail. In Classic view, the split can only be horizontal. If you want a vertical split, you'll need to look at another mail client. AirMail might be worth consideration.

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. When a mail is received and then opened, I have the options to answer to the sender or to all. In the account preferences, I can specify if the original message is copied or not. This option applies to ALL the answers. How can I choose when editing a mail if I want the message to be copied or not ?

This is the easiest method I have found that will resolve your issue.
'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Composition & Addressing' for the maill account
or
'menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Account Settings' > 'Composition & Addressing' for the mail account.
deselect / do not select 'Automatically quote the original message when replying'.
Click on OK to save changes.
To send a 'Reply' with no original message, simply click on 'Reply' button.
To send a 'Reply' with all or part of original message.
Highlight the section of the message or all of the message and then click on 'Reply' button

Hi, there.
Unfortunately, there's no such feature on Mail. No version of it has ever had.
Besides that, read receipts are not good at all. It is up to the recipient whether or not to send a receipt. So you will never know if the recipient never read the email or just didn't send a receipt.

Hello,
you can create a Report that accepts the search parameters from the Forms mask and generates a PDF. You also have the option to send the report via mail.
Personally I would generate the report with a tool like as_pdf

I've looked in iBooks 3 and in the Settings under iBooks, for both my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3, but cannot locate the option to allow vertical scrolling. Help!

Open a book from your bookshelf in the iBooks app and tap the AA icon at the top right of the screen - then tap Themes on the popup and tap 'Scroll', and that should then apply to al/most of your ibooks (one of mine from the store doesn't have the AA icon and doesn't have scrolling)

How to setup multiple Exchange accounts in Mail with the same username/password

Okay didn't see a place to ask a Mail question so I am placing this here.
I work for a helpdesk that requires me to monitor 4 different email accounts throughout the day. They are all Exchange accounts. The first one setups just fine but when I go to setup the others I get a message that states that the username and password are in use for the other account. Is there any way to setup multiple Exchange account when using the same LDAP creds for all the accounts?

I need to add a second Exchange account to my MBP using Mail. Both accounts are with Rackspace, but each email address is unique (i.e., two different domain names). When I use Preferences to attempt to add the second account, it recognizes the new credentials, finds the server and autopopulates the necessary address information. But, as soon as I click "Done" after setting which functions are active on the account (mail, cal, contacts, etc.), the screen shows only my original Exchange account. The new one is not added, yet there is no error message saying that it can't be added. Any idea what is going on? Shouldn't Mail be able to have multiple Exchange accounts, even if they are hosted via the same Rackspace server (in this case: connect.emailsrvr.com)?

How to send a file via e-mail with director

Is it even possible to have a button in a free-standing
projector that would send a file via e-mail, or open up an e-mail
program and have the file attached and addressed? Or is it possible
to put a file on a server? Of course, both of these methods would
alert the user and ask for their permission.

To just open the user's email program, you can use the
standard lingo:
goToNetPage(mailto:[email protected])
That approach is kind of annoying because it actually opens
an empty
browser window then the user's email program. I don't think
you can use
that approach to send attachments though.
A much better way is the fabulous DirectEmail xtra from
DirectXtras.

Is there a simple dropdown to select the "From" field in Mail when using multiple accounts?
All I can find is a support page saying From is defined by the email account that is highlighted and active.

When you hover your mouse over your name in the from field it presents a little arrow. Click it and it lets you select who you are sending an email as.
Also if your reading an email that you got say to your @iCloud.com email when you hit compose it will automatically select your @iCloud.com email to compose your email.

I would like like to be able to view previously sent e-mails in the "photo mail".
Then I would like to be be able to forward them to a new address.
Also, when I include my own e-mail, gmail thinks the address is unvalidated or is phising. I sent a copy to my own e-mail to be able to review what had been sent.

The organizer is not a browser, it is a database : even if it can show photos in your folders structure, it only works on the files wich have been 'imported' and registered in the catalog. It can show your registered pictures displayed according to the real folder structure based on the paths registered with each present file, but you'll have problems if some upper level folder is empty.
On the other hand, the items registered in a catalogue can't be duplicates, and the Organizer prevents duplicates to be registered. There is no simple one click way to override this constraint, which would mean a different database 'key', that is to rename the duplicates you want to register.
Practical way : since you have to rename the duplicates before importing them, you could do this directly in Windows or any other freeware like Faststone photoresizer.
Or you could open those pictures directly from the editor, browsing in your folder structure.
Imagine you have duplicates in a folder and want to rename them and import them using only PSE :
- From the editor, use the 'process multiple files' to export the files from this folder and rename them, for instance 'IMG_0012.jpg' + 'dupl' stating the same destination folder
- Try again to 'get files and videos' from the organizer.

How do I enable touch gesture controls on Mac OSX 10.5.8?

Currently I've installed a new Promethean ActivBoard 500 series and have been using it with a regular PC. It works fine, enabling all gesture controls with my fingers. When I install a Mac to this board, I can't seem to use gesture controls to manipulate my screen. I know this is an OS issue. I tried also with a OSX Lion Mac Book Pro and got same results.
