How do I enable "Wake on Lan" P1102W

iMacs, running 10.6.8, Airport Extreme, Laserjet P1102W with fixed IP address.  Once it goes to sleep, how do I wake it up?

I changed the wireless security setting on my wifi router to use "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" instead of "WPA2-PSK".
I guess the printer has a problem with the newer version of WPA2.
Now it continues to be available even after it goes into powersave mode.
Try it - ymmv.  It took a stroke of luck and 12 months of frustration to figure this out.

  • How may I enable Wake On Lan on the B570-1068AFU

Hi all, I have the B570-1068AFU. I want to enable Wake on Lan on this laptop, but I do not see a bios setting for it. Is it possible with this Laptop? Thanks.

    Hi Jasbryan,
If RV220W doesn't forward UDP to a broadcast address, could you ( i.e. Cisco) provide a tools for sending WOL Magic Packet to the LAN on Router Device Manager page?
I see many routers also provide this tools from their manager page.
    Thanks.

  • How to enable wake on lan on Thinkpad Twist?

I have a Thinkpad Twist purchased because of the presence of the ethernet card.
Unfortunately I can not turn wake on lan.
I did several searches and several attempts without success.
Someone managed to enable wake on lan?
    Thank you.
(sorry for the English by Google Translate)

    Hey there Cello67,
To enable Wake On Lan on a Thinkpad twist:
    1) You will first need to power down your laptop completely.
    2) Then turn it on, as soon as you turn it on start hitting the enter key to interrupt start up. This will take you to a start up menu.
    3) From here you will need to enter your BIOS.
    4) Move right over to the Config, then press enter on the Network Selection
    5) The first option you should have is Wake On Lan. You can change this from disabled to either AC Only or AC and Battery.
After you have done this save your settings, and resume startup. Once the computer has finished booting go to your desktop, and pull out your charm bar by pressing Win Key + C or with a swipe from the right side of your screen in. From here you will:
    1) Enter the Control Panel
    2) Device Manager - > Your Ethernet Card/Adapter
    3) Click the Power Management Tab
    4) Select "Allow this device to wake the computer"
    Hope this helps Cello67!

  • How to enable Wake On Lan on MSi P45 Neo2?

    Hi,
I just bought a P45 Neo2, and I think I have WOL on this machine, as the Realtek chipset 8111C does support the feature. However, I'm not sure how to
    - enable
    - use
the function. Can you help me?
Under Device Manager, I go to the Realtek network adapter --> Properties --> Power Management --> Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby.
Now, it is enabled. How should I use it? I would be very thankful :-).

Please have a look here first for basic introduction to Wake on LAN and "Magic Packets":

  • How to Enable Wake On Lan over the Internet??

Hi, I am using RV220W with the latest firmware, I want to make "Wake on LAN" work for my NAS, I found the following description on Internet:
"If you wish to use Wake On Lan over the internet you will need to set up your destination firewall/router to allow "Subnet Directed Broadcasts". Most routers and firewalls disable this option by default.
You will then need to allow traffic through on your firewall/router on a specific port. The choice of ports is up to you."
So how can I enable "Subnet Directed Broadcasts" on RV220W??
    Thanks.

  • Satellite C660 - how to enable and Use WAKE ON LAN?

    Hi All,
I previously posted asking about using Wake on Wireless LAN and was very helpfully advised that this was not possible, so I have started to explore the Wake ON LAN option.
I have a Toshiba C660 PSC0LE-00500JEN and have enabled Wake ON LAN on the BIOS, and have connected a LAN cable between my wireless router and the laptop, both of which recognise each other so the cable seems ok.
However, whether I use a WAKE ON LAN app on my android, or I use an online "wake on lan via browser" site, the laptop still remains asleep.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks
    James

    Hi
The Wake Up on Lan option would work if you would send an Magic Packet to the remote machine (notebook).
I have no experience using the Android app who knows if it function properly
Try other method. For example using an software like Wake on Lan for Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Google for that to download this software.
Furthermore go to device manager -> LAN card -> Properties -> Advanced tab and check here if the WOL is enabled too

  • M93p BIOS issue: PowerOff not correct if Enhanced Power Saving Mode Disabled and Wake on Lan Enabled

Hi Levnovo support team, Recently I bought a M93p tiny(10AAA05MTW)(BIOS revision FBKT56A)and installed with Ubuntu 13.10 myself. Then tried to enable wake on lan for my tiny. The followings are my test result. 1. Enhanced Power Saving Mode Enabled, no mateter what is Wake On Lan setting     PowerOff system is OK. 2. Enhanced Power Saving Mode Disable and Wake On Lan Disabled    PowerOff system is OK. 3. Enhanced Power Saving Mode Disabled and Wake On Lan Primary or Automatic   PowerOff system is NG.   When I tried to power off system, it always can poweroff(LEDs on front all off) then POWER ON again in 2 or 3 seconds.   I cannot accept this test result ,system should poweroff not reboot again.   It's really hard to understand why enabling Wake on Lan will affect power off function. I tried the same procedures with my another M92p(3212A16)(BIOS revision 9SKT70AUS), and it works well.

Did you ever get a fix for this?Having the same issue on 3 of 6 machines that just arrived.

  • My wake on lan is enabled but not working

I have a mid June '12 Macbook Pro running splashtop. I have enabled wake on LAN through "Energy Saver" under "Preferences." The Macbook Pro is hooked up to an ethernet cable to my AirPort Extreme router. When I try to use "Wake on LAN" button/icon/feature through Splashtop 2 on my iPad, my Macbook Pro remains shutdown or in standby mode. Also, I have an SSD installed with 8GB of RAM if this matters any. Is anyone having this problem and can someone offer some advice? Thank you.

is the macbook pro closed or open?  it can't wake if its closed despite your 'wake on lan' setting

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi benny_ru,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
This may not be possible. Since this is not supported in BIOS
When the computer is in Hibernate and/or in shutdown state it need to cross the BIOS to wake up the computer or turn it on.
Sleep will be ok since the LAN card supports it and it is the OS that wakes the system up and not the BIOS.

  • MSI G70 Dragon Edition 2 and wake on lan

    Hi everybody.
Does G70 laptop support wake on lan feature ?
Or how i can get wake on lan feature for this laptop.

Here I reply to myself : I think this will be useful to other people, whatever the motherboard model.
So, I just SUCCESSFULLY have been able to wake up my PC from the LAN
    Here are my conclusions :
1- There's nothing in the motherboard documentation that explicitly indicates that it's supported. But it is !
2 - I didn't need to connect the LAN card to the motherboard (didn't need any WOL connection)
3 - I have a patched Windows XP. But its standard drivers for my network card weren't enough. I had to install the updated drivers from the manufacturer (admtek).
4 - With these drivers, I could then access, from Windows devices setup tool, to the network adapter APM properties, and I could "Allow Device to Bring Computer Out of Standby".
    5. Inside the BIOS, a few things to setup :
    Power Management Features
    -> IPCA Function : Enabled
    -> Power Management / APM : Enabled
-> Set Wake Up Events ... Wake Up On PME# : Enabled
Actually, this means that there is no explicit need for a "Wake On LAN" configuration. It all goes through PME# (i.e. direct PCI) wakeup events.
    6. Then it works :-)
The excellent free tool available at
    http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/
does the job at the remote computer side (when fed with the valid MAC and IP addresses).
I'm very pleased... but I wish MSI had somehow indicated that the motherboard is WOL capable !
