How do I encrypt htpasswd's on Win2K?

What does iPlanet 6 use - SHA, crypt, MD5, other? Have tried Apache htpasswd utility with each flavor, but doesn't work. If something else needed, where can I download it from? Many thanks for any help.

iWS 6.0's htaccess support uses crypt. You should be able to use Apache's htpasswd, or you can use the bin/https/bin/htpasswd.exe supplied with iWS.

such as "XXX YY", instead of the handwritten form. I managed to use the

There is no need to rename file.
You can get gnumake folder on name. The latest one is make-3.79.1.tar.gz
Get two more files make and tar files........
Instead just search this site for installing gnu make. Very easy steps are there.
I think there should not be any problen.
And Just dump all the files somewhere. When you start installation and installer does not find something it will ask for the location. This is the way I haev followed.

1. look at DBMS_CRYPTO package
2. create JAVA stored procedure (I'm sure there are some good samples to use java for encryption) to encrypt the body (this can be executed from pl/sql)
3. save the body as a file on unix and encrypt it with unix command (this can be executed from PL/SQL utilizing UTL_FILE and JAVA stored procedure)
4. forget sending the password in email and save the password on Oracle Apex site and configure access using single sign-on with transparent windows authentication

I have an application where the customer should not have access to the data I need to record for troubleshooting purposes. (there are industrial secrets I wish to protect) My plan is to record a datalog (currently I am producing a tab-delimited spreadsheet format) whenever the device is running and hide the files where they will probably not be found. But some sort of encryption or at least password protection would be better.
I've never tried to do this before, but thought it would be fairly easy. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

Well, you could look into something like DES, Triple DES, AES, etc. There are libries floating around for these written in LabVIEW. I'm not sure about the cost though.
If you want a really simple way to protect your data, just invert all or some of the bits in each byte of your file. It is super simple and turns a nice ASCII text file into noise when read from a text file.

I spent all day to try encrypt home directory (how I did it before in Debian) I used encyptfs-migrate-home -u [myusername] but after all encyption finished I'm unable to login to KDE to complete encyptfs-unwrap-passphrase script. I got error when KDE runing from xserver: call to lnusertemp failed (temporary directories full?)

You don't generally encrypt passwords. You simply hash them. There should rarely, if ever, be a reason to decrypt a password.

- you can view XI data with so many other tools
not only as XML data but also as http data
so what this will not be encrypted?
you have to encrypt it before sending it to XI
this is the only proper solution
