Most common cause of this is security software on your computer: Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Firewalls. So, disable all of that stuff & try again.

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

How can I improve NFSv3 file performance with MythTV thru a NAS Drive?

Basically, I have both my MythTV combined frontend/backend machine and a NAS Drive connected via gigabit ethernet connections.
The NAS drive stores my recordings, shared via NFSv3 (because that's all the NAS drive came with, unfortunatly).
Now, my problem is that I can record or watch multiple *seperate* HD files simultaneously, travelling back and forth from the NAS without problem.
However when I try to watch the same file *While it's still being recorded*, after around 20 minutes the network connection is full/overloaded (between the mythserver and the NAS drive) and playback grinds to a halt (It doesn't stop the recording, just the playback).
It used to happen much quicker when I was only using a 100mb connection.
As i've said, this doesn't happen at ALL with seperate files, just only if i watch the *same* file that's being recorded at the same time.
Is there anyway (bar just having the recordings on a Hard Drive within my backend) that I can stop this problem? Is it because I use NFSv3 on the NAS drive? are there any options I can change in the /etc/exports file on the NAS drive that would help? Thanks

How do i improve my battery life with iOS7?

SO with 6.1.3 i got about 8hours of wifi usage out of my two year old 4S. Now with iOS7.0 i only have 3-5hours of wifi usage!
At first i only updated my phone, but i already knew that such issues may be caused by updating. That is why i already COMPLETELY restored the 4S and now i don't have anything besides my mail account on it.
But i still only get 3-5hours out of it :/
Why is this and how do i improve it?

I now restored my 4S, turned oof parallax, system services, location services, background refresh and push.
But it still only get 4hours of wifi usage!
With iOS6 that was not a problem!

If the two disabled cores are stable then unlocking them should give a nice boost. To do this, go into the BIOS and enter the 'cell menu'. Find the option that reads 'CPU Core Control' and enable it. Next, go into Windows and download the 'BIOS Code Unlocked Technology' utility from >>here<<. You'll need to run the utility, enable the cores and reboot your computer. If the disabled cores are stable you should be able to boot up and see the two extra cores being utilised in Task Manager.
I'd advise you switch off the OC switch and see what you think of the new performance from having the two extra cores enabled, provided they're unlocked successfully.
No point overclocking the onboard graphics. If you want to play games then it's much better just to buy a dedicated PCI-E graphics card instead.
From an overclocking point of view, that power supply doesn't look too good so I wouldn't recommend overclocking personally.

I didn't have this issue when I was using IOS 6. Ever since I upgraded the battery just drains away without me even using it. I've never had this problem before. I even went in and shut off all my apps etc.

When turning off any location or notification services, if you aren't turning it right off completely, be sure to check thru the hidden list and then those off as well. I can't look at which it's in because I did this last night on my iPhone and can't read my phone anymore. It's an eye strain to look into that.
There is a hidden one in location, called favorite places. That's a waste, unless you want it.
Turn wifi off when leaving the house to go to places where there is no wifi. It's constantly searching.
Turn airdrop off as well.

I setup my Mac Pro to connect to my Macbook Pro (both on snow leopard at the time) with apple remote desktop when I used to select control on my Mac Pro I used to be able to start controlling my MBP straght away with out needing to enter a username or pasword.
When Lion came out I upgraded my Mac Pro and left my MBP on snw leoprd no settings on my MBP were changed I installed the ARD control software on my Mac Pro and when I clicked control I was requested to enter a username and password.
Does anyone know why I can no longer control my MBP without entering a username and pasword and how to setup ARD to allow me to do that?
