On a 13 inch black Mac Book, OS 10.5.8, in Disk Utility, when I choose the Erase tab, the volume pull-down is shaded out and can't be chosen...what to do?

Be sure you run a Time Machine backup before you erase the disk unless you are prepariing it for sale.

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading. For songs, movies, and videos, if you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content on an iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Well I would recommend you do have an off internal hard drive backup of all your files before wiping any duplicates off the internal. Once you are certain you have an off internal hard drive backup of all essential files, then use Disk Utility to erase the other partitions.

I have an iPhone 4S Factory Unlocked, up to date (iOS 6.0.1). I connect it to my Laptop named "The Love" via USB and opend iTunes and checked Sync over Wifi to enable this feature. Everything works great.
After a couple months I sold my Laptop and bought a new Laptop named "Raid", I did the smae steeps, connect it to my new Laptop via USB and opend iTunes and I checked Syn over Wifi to enable this feature and hit Apply, also I did the sync via USB cable and it works fine.
Now I want to sync via wifi, so I went to General --> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync --> here my iPhone still showing "Sync will resume when "The Love-PC" is available", Okay I sold it!! What I will do! I stock! does this mean I will need to find my old Laptop and buy it back????!!!!
I tried to do those steeps over and over, same result, my iPhone stock with the my old Laptop, It seems my iPhone liked my "The Love" Laptop
My question is:
How do I delete this setting? and connect it to my new Laptop?

Well " even if I plugged it via usb" I meant that I did all the spteps, connect my iPhone via USB, Open iTunes, Check on Sync this device via WiFi, click on Sync, Unplug the iPhone.

If you have the original disks, just use them.
Insert the OS disk, and restart while holding down the C key. Start the OS installation process. On the screen after the language selection, click Utilities in the menu bar. When Disk Utility is running select the name of the hard drive on the left, and click erase. When that is done, quit DU, restart and complete the OS installation.
At the end of the installation turn the computer off. When your nephew starts the computer he will be asked to enter his name etc, and register it as his own.
If you do not have the original disks, you can buy a copy of Snow Leopard and use the same procedure with that disk:

If you want to run Windows then you need to install a new Windows copy.
I'd assume your copy is OEM and tied to the laptop unless you bought retail copy and won't use the laptop again (or sell it with Windows OS to someone else).

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've authorised your account on your new Macbook then you should be able to log into your account on your Mac's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then reauthorise the Mac (and any other computers that you still have and need).

they do sell them at best buy. I just went to the best buy website and searched for "external enclosure". Make sure it is 2.5" as that is the size of laptop hard drives, not 3.5" as that is to hold desktop hard drives.

Just connect your iPod to your computer, let iTunes come up, and then select Restore to Factory Settings. This will clear off every thing and install the current version of iOS for that generation. You can name the device and then set up iTunes to synch the items you choose.
If you have more than one computer, let hubby set up his own iTunes account and Apple ID so you don't get your stuff mixed up.
