How do I export a menu screen as a jpeg or image file

Hopefully someone can help me out with this...I'm trying to take a menu screen that I've built in DVDSP 4 and export it as a still image so I can use it as a picture to place on the box for my dvd. Any suggestions on how to do this? I haven't been able to find anything on it within the user's manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

You can capture a section of the screen (while simulating your project) using this key shortcut:
command + Ctrl + Shift + 4
the capture will go to your clipboard, and you can use it in i.e. Photoshop.
Using:
Command + Ctrl + 4
you'll get the captured section as a file in your desktop.
If you use "3" in place of "4" key, you'll get a full screen capture.

CeliaJane, you need to distinguish between the Aperture Library and the Aperture Application.
Aperture stores your images in a database, and it is this database that we have to find and probably to repair, not the application (hopefully). And since you do not see any images, I suspect that Aperture created a new, empty Aperture Library,and you are now viewing this empty library. Usully the library sits in your Pictures fiolder.
Look into your Pictures folder, if you see a file with a colorful icon with three pictures, called something.aplibrary, as shown above. And also enter ".applibrary" into the "Spotlight" searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. If you have more than one Library, you should be able to find them this way.
The largest file you find will probably be the correct library.
When you have found the correct file called aperturexxxx.aplibrary, try to open it in "First Aid" mode.
Select the Library and press down "command" and "option" key at the same time, while you double click the library.
Now the First Aid dialogue should appear:
Select: Repair Permissions" and see if you can open the Library again. If it did not help, try the other two options in turn.

How can I allow a user (client) to choose a local image file (on his hard drive) and modify it using an applet from his browser ? I am trying to develop a web page that enables the user to choose an Image file, manipulate the image using a java applet, and display the results.
Using Java�s �JFileChooser� does not work when called from a browser, probably due to security privileges issues. On the other hand, I can choose and upload any file using a JavaScript form:

It seems that I can choose an image file with a Java script form and process an image with an applet. How can I choose a file AND process it locally ?

How do I export a menu created in Premiere Pro CS5 to Adobe Encore CS5?

Hey everyone,
First time in here. Trying some new things in CS5. Anyway, I created a working DVD menu in Photoshop and brought it into Premiere to lay in some video and music. The video is an inset that moves from left to right and sits atop the background created in Photoshop. The file looks great in Premier and now I'm wanting to know how I can export this file so that it is a working menu in Encore and is the first play item for my completed DVD. Can this be done? Looking forward to the answers.

There are some very good Encore tutorials for making motion and video menus on www.lynda.com that you might find helpful. If I understand what you are trying to do though, I don't think there is a direct method to accomplish what you want.
Let me ask you first, does the video inset that is moving across the screen have to continually be moving, or can you live with it moving from point A to point B at the start, then stop and become a normal menu with the video inset stationary?

I am submitting a video for a credential I am working on, and the video must be completely unedited with no menu screen. The best I have been able to do so far is to clear out the titles on a black movie screen (working with a theme in iDvD), and add my video footage onto the back of this. But when I try to play the video I have created in a DVD player, the video will stall on the black menu screen and not proceed to my actual footage unless I press STOP, then PLAY. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable to the organization to which I am submitting my video.
How can I get the video to burn straight from iMovie to the DVD burner (LaCie Lightscribe) without any themes or frames? Or, how can I get it to stop getting stuck on the black menu screen?

In iDVD, you can drag your movie to the box before the menu starts. It will play in full before the menu comes up. You might even be able to totally delete the menu slide once you have done this, but I haven't tried that yet since I usually use a menu.

Welcome to the forum.
When you say render Menus, exactly what do you mean?
The reason that I ask is that for smoothest playback, one can Render the Timeline, but as the Menus are added in the authoring phase, after one has edited the Timeline, they do not get Rendered per se, though that does happen to a degree, when one Previews the DVD/BD.
I sense that there might be an issue with the Menus, that you are using. If that is correct, then it might be best to give us the details of first, your Project Settings, and then which Menus you are using. I suspect that there might be a mis-match there.
Next, please let us know where you are seeing a problem with the Menus, such as in Preview, or when you burn a disc, and play it on a set top player, attached to a TV.
The more detail that you can provide, the better, as it will be easier to diagnose any problem, and offer solutions.

I am trying to export all my calendars from iCal to ane ics file. It is exporting calendar events that i have been invited to by others but is not exporting any calendar events that I have created myself. Please help. I have gone in and done the select all with the same results.

How to correct "No timestamps were found on any of the image files" in Bridge CS4?

I am trying to process a "Auto-stack Panorama/HDR" images and I keep getting the error message "No timestamps were found on any of the image files". I don't understand what this means and how to correct the issue so I can process my images. All of the images are .CR2 raw files, which Bridge shouldn't have issues with.
Can anyone help with correcting the issue of the timestamps?

In the "old days" when I dragged an image from Safari to the desktop, the image retained its original web address in comments. Since Panther I lost this ability, and even with 10.4.11 the comments or Spotlight box is blank regarding dragged image files. If the feature's there how do i turn it on??

The icon you see is telling your to connect the iPad to iTunes on the computer. You have to activate it via the computer before you can use it.
Depending up on the setting, if iTunes is installed on the computer, iTunes may automatically open when the iPad is connected. If iTunes doe not automatically open, then open it. The iPad should be displaying the icon when you connect it to your computer.

How Do I Export A Menu Frame?

I need a menu frame as a reference for object placement on an overlay I will be creating later. I haven't seen a way to do this yet. Template resource files are not useful, AFAICT. Any DVDSP guru help appreciated.

AFAIK there's no way of 'exporting' a still frame out of DVDSP as it were.
How have you created your existing menu? If you're using a template menu there are two ways you could go 1) do a quick build of the project only using the menu - then using Mpeg Streamclip (freeware) select the correct .vob and select Export Frame from the File menu - bring it into Photoshop, rescale into the correct screen preset and that should give you a fairly accurate overlay (I wouldn't outline text using this method though) or 2) depending on how accurate you need to be (if there is a bit of room to move between the selected item and your overlay) you could just use the Grab function in Utilities to do a screen grab of the area then import this into Photoshop - rescale it into a approp. screen preset and that'll give you a down'n'dirty guide.

No, it cannot be done. RAW describes a family of proprietary sensor data file formats. RAW is not itself a file format, and RAW files are not image-format files. RAW files must be converted to an image in order to be displayed. RAW converters do this.
You can save adjusted Images in Aperture in several useful formats.
You can take either the RAW file (use "File→Export→Master", or you can take an image-format file based on the adjusted Image (use "File→Export→Version").
