How do I export a PDF that contains both English and Thai to Microsoft Word?

My PDF file has both English and Thai language content. When I export it to Microsoft Word, the Thai words are missing. I am using Acrobat XI Pro and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

How do I export a video that contains 4:3 and 16:9 footage?

I feel super stupid that I can't figure this out, but I've never needed to use anything in 4:3 before. I created a video that has 10 seconds of 4:3, the rest is 16:9. When I've tried to export to mp4 using the H264 I get a green screen in the video (I also noticed that the timeline then declared the 4:3 footage as unrendered) I've tried to maintain aspect ratios, etc, and the only success I've had is exporting as a QT movie, which then gives me a huge 3gb file. I'm not sure what stats anyone will need, if any. Please let me know and I'll put them up. Thank you!

Seriously, it's fully rendered. I'm not an FC ace but I didn't just start using the program. It just happens that this is the first video I'm editing that has both wide and standard aspects. I'm telling you that when I try to export in 16:9 (as in QT conversion, picking a 16:9 output) the 4:3 part on the timeline says it's unrendered, but only while the file/location box is up. If I back out totally the red line goes away. If I go ahead with the export I get a green screened mp4.

How do I convert a FrameMaker file containing both Portrait and Landscape pages into PDF?

I have recently converted to FrameMaker 9 and Acrobat 9. In the FrameMaker manual I am creating, most of the pages have Portait orientation, but some have Landscape orientation. However, when I convert the manual to PDF using Acrobat Distiller, the Landscape pages become Portrait. This wasn't a problem when I converted the manual into PDF in previous versions of Acrobat Distiller, it appeared after I installed Acrobat 9. In other words, the FrameMaker file has worked before. I have also tried this on three different computers to make sure the computer is not the problem. Does anybody have any ideas that I could try to make this work?

In FrameMaker, select the book you want to create a PDF of, click File > Print, and select Adobe PDF as your printer.
Click Properties and make sure you have the selections you want.
Back on the Print Setup dialog, leave the Paper and Orientation as both Letter and Portrait respectively.
On the Print Book dialog, select Print to File and browse to the correct location. Make certain to save this as a PostScript file (name.ps) and at the Safe Book As field, you want Single File selected.
Again on the Print Book dialog, click the checkbox for Generate Adobe Data and click PDF Setup. On the PDF Setup for Selected Files dialog, at the PDF Job Options, select Press Quality or make the appropriate choices for your situation for Settings, Bookmarks, Tags, and Links.
With Adobe Distiller open, File > Open and browse to the .ps file you indicated earlier. Also verify your Default Settings for the PDF are correct. When Distiller is finished, you can double-click the PDF file to open it and check that your portrait and landscape pages show correctly.

How to design an iPhone app that uses both Portrait and Landscape in Flash CS6

So I have created an App that has a different menu when it is held portrait, but changes when held landscape. I can get the navigation to work, However I am unsure how to design landscape pages inside Flash?
My stage is set to the standard 640x960 air for iOS, which gives me perfect portrait pages, But when I tilt my phone to landscape the screen obviously changes, and it looks weird. Im hoping someone can tell me how i can get this view inside Flash, while still having the portrait screens too?
I want to have both Portrait and Landscape in the same app, and am currently so confused how I can design this inside flash?
I hope this makes sense, and that someone could throw some help my way!

you can change the display depending on stage orientation but it doesn't make sense to "..swap the stage orientation between screens".
to change the display, use a StageOrientationEvent.ORIENTATION_CHANGE event and listener:

Error writing file name which contain both English and non-English name

Everything goes fine while file names are in English but when some file name is non English or both English with non English name (right to left languages) an error raised, so how to deal with this writing issue without changing the file name

But it did not work! I'm using a Mac OSX 10.9.3, Reader 10.1.10

I found out that, apparently, this just plan doesn't work on the Mac version of Adobe Reader. Thanks, Adobe, for a crappy experience.

Format cell that contains both text and a date in Numbers

I have this formula in a cell in Numbers
=("Balance for " & YEAR(NOW()) & "-" & MONTH(NOW())-1)
Since it is May 2012 that results in "Balance for 2012-4". How can I have it show as "Balance for 2012-04"?

Just replace the month portion with something like this
Right("0"&month(today()),2)
Takes the month number and combines it with a zero to the left, then takes the right two characters.

How do I export a PDF without the print bleed extra "stuff" around the edges?

I know my question wording sucks, but I didn't know how else to put it.
I created a document in ID for print with a bleed. When I export to PDF, the image is not cropped to the finished size of the page, but includes the excess background images that I extended beyond the page bounds for a bleed. I am now trying to export a PDF that can be sent in email and will not be printed, and so I would like to export a PDF file that does not have any of that extra stuff (I have turned off the printer's marks) around the edges. But my PDF has the excess stuff and a red outline around the actual page dimensions. How do I export a PDF that is cropped to the correct page size (8.5" x 11")?
I have attached the PDF I have created with the excess stuff and the red outline around the page size so you can see what I mean.

i have a problem exporting as a PDF also, i have done this before successfully and i have unchecked all the boxes to turn off bleeds etc, etc... however the bleed area is still coming through. I have tried saving the file under another name, closing down and reopening - nothing seems to work. I'd be very grateful if someone could offer some advice on this.

Creating a PDF that has editable fields and replaceable images

I've been trying to figure out how I can create a PDF that has editable texts and replaceable images. I'm working for a company in which all computers only have Adobe Reader as means to view or edit a PDF file. So far I have managed to create a file that has editable text fields with customized appearance, which is great! The next step however was to create 'fields' that can be filled by an image. Is there a way to create replaceable images with LiveCycle or any other prorgram for that matter.
My goal is simple: Create a PDF that has editable textfields and replaceable images. All of which should be done in Adobe Reader.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create this file and I'm wondering if Live Cycle can help me with this problem, or if this is even possible to begin with. Thanks in advance.

Your goal is very simple with the LCD. You are have to use only an Image Field (important no Image) from the object library.
Any time you can click on it and select a new picture.

What I’m trying to do is insert a drawing from Illustrator that is still editable in PPT (a client request). Do you happen to have Dial Assist on? This is in Settings>Phone. This is what helps the phone identify international numbers when dialing, based on location. See if turning that off/on makes a difference. Unless you are making a number of international calls, I believe this can be left off. See the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf Page 49 has info regarding Dial Assist.

How can I export to PDF for Offset printing including color and grayscale photo's?

After reading dozens of forum, I still don’t found the answer.
I made a photobook with full-colur and B/W photos for Offset printing. I want the B/W to be in grayscale to avoid color possible color shades. It seems InDesign doesn’t support grayscale, the images become way to dark. Even with exporting without any colour conversion or destination and/or including original colour profiles, the grayscale pictures are being exported to dark to PDF.

Yes, the Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same
This can get difficult because the 3 programs handle soft proofing differently.
The working spaces don't matter, it's the document profile(s) that manage the preview. So here is the same grayscale image placed in ID on top and PS on the bottom. I've set my Photoshop info to show the doc profile in the lower left corner. I can see my InDesign's Document CMYK profile in my Proof Setup (the Working CMYK is different and isn't being used). Both profiles are effectively the same Coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of PS).
But the previews don't match because I have Overprint turned off, so the InDesign preview is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview.
If I turn on Overprint preview I get a match because I'm soft proofing for print:

I am currently trying to send an ad to a local newspaper, and apparently when I export my document it's not 100% black, instead it has mixed CMYK values. How can I export a PDF in InDesign so it preserves 100% black for the printers? All of the black text in my document has the color Black which is equal to C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100 , what is the issue? Do I need to have specific export settings for a PDF?
