How do I export a trimmed video?

I select only the part of the clip that I want to keep, then use the trim to selection menu item, then finalize project, then export, but the exported video still contains the trimmed parts (the parts that I removed using trim to selection)...

Hello,
I have the same problem. Did you find a solution / workaround yet?
I posted my problem (i think it is the same as yours) here yesterday:

You can copy photos and videos from the camera roll in the iPad's Photos app to an external drive via your computer - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard, on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture

How can I export my project in iMovie 10 in mv4 video? THK

You can't.  iMovie 10 only exports .mp4 - you will have to share then post-process.  If you mean .m4v there are fre apps that will do the conversion (such as Media Converter  see http://media-converter.sourceforge.net)

  • How do i export a single video file that also contains ac3 audio

    Hi Guys,
Is it possible to export a single video file that also contains ac3 5.1 surround audio?
I can create seperate audio and video files ok, but not a single file?
    Please help...
    Regards
    Andy

You won't be able to do this with just FCPX by itself. You should be able to use Compressor to do this, or you can use Quicktime Pro to create a single .mov file from the separate video/audio files exported from FCPX.
If you use Compressor, you can save the preset and make it available inside FCPX for future use.

  • How can you restore a trimmed video on your iphone?

can you recover a trimmed video from your iPhone if you did not back up to your pc?
when you trim can you recover video you have trimmed?

    Trimming=Delete.
When you trim the video, you’re trimming the original file, and any frames you delete from the video are gone forever. So you should make sure you really want to make cuts before you do so, or at least, back up your videos to your computer first. Sounds like you have no backup(which is done as the first part of a sync) before you trimmed. Thus, the footage is gone.

  • How can I edit or trim videos I bought from iTunes?

I bought a season from iTunes and are in the process of downloading them all, however, with the videos I do have downloaded I would like to know how I can "trim" or "edit" the video shorter to a favorite part and then save it. I do not have Windows Movie Player, I have Windows Media Player, and when I try to play it on there it says it cannot be supported. So I have no idea what to do, all I'm trying to do is make a short version of a part and save it as a separate video.

Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store. In the current Mac version, click on your name in the toolbar and choose 'Account details'. Log in. Click 'Edit' next to 'Payment details' and choose 'None' from the options available, or click the type of card you want to use and enter the details. Click 'Done' at bottom right, then again in the first page to leave the account details.

  • How best to export back to video camera dv tape?

I know iMovie no longer has the export back to tape option in 09 version. But, there must be a good way to do it anyway? Does 09 allow me to export to DV (MyMovie.dv)? If so, then I guess I could take that exported file and import it into my old iMovie 6, and then export from there back to a DV tape via firewire. If someone knows a better way, the let me know.
    Thanks

You can avoid all video editors by using an app called SimpleVideoOutX:
    http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/samplecode/SimpleVideoOut/Introduction/In tro.html
Just download the SampleCode archive, extract the archive and look for SimpleVideoOut X.app. Just drop the video on the app icon to launch the app.
It has been around for MANY years, but not well known. This is a free app created to do exactly what you want. Caveat is, to go to DV, the video file can NOT be higher than DV resolution, or the screen with just show black on the DV camera. But it will work with any SD, or lower, resolution video file that Quicktime will play back. I have watched many videos on my TV this way, and it is MUCH cheaper than an Apple TV, with out the format issues.
You can select DVCPRO HD, Digital Cinema Desktop and FireWire as the output options. For DV, select Output=Firewire, and Mode=Apple FireWire NTSC.
There are a couple other option available at the bottom right of screen to play with, but generally, the defaults work for the majority of cases.
For extensive detail on its use, check this article:

  • How can I export my 60fps video in lightroom without the footage being downgraded to 30fps?

I love color correcting my video in lightroom. I use VSCo presets in my video and it creates a very beautiful film look which I love. I've just begun to use 60fps footage and I've noticed that when I export the files it converts it to 29.970 frames per second every single time. It even tells me that my original file is that framerate when I know for a fact that it is 60 fps. Is there a setting to alter this in Lightroom? I know it isn't exactly meant for video but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What exactly is the material you have? What does item properties say about it? If it's too small you'll have to scale it up, but if you scale it up a lot it's going to get soft and pixely.

  • How can I export many short videos from one project?

We had an awards ceremony, and the entirety of the program was filmed and is now saved on my computer as one large, continuous file.  I would like to edit it down to only the acceptance speechers (there are about 10 or so) and export them to MPEGs to share online.  Is there a way I can do this from within one project or do I need to start over every time, editing each speech out individually and then exporting?
Let me know if my phrasing was unclear.  Thanks for helping!

I would offer the principles involved in the following blog post for handling the task that you describe.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/06/pe11-project-assets-organization-for.html
This involves trimming of the source (in Project Media area) in Preview Windows with the program's Set In Set Out points and the saving the trims as subclips in the Project Media and/or trims dragged to the Timeline.
If interested, please let me know if you need clarification on anything written.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thank you.

  • How do I export so my video can be viewed on windows pc?

This is the first video I've produced with Final Cut Pro x and Compressor 4.  No more what setting I select, I cannot view my project on a Windows computer.  What do I need to do to export my video with compressor 4, transfer the file to a flash drive, and view it on a Windows PC?  Any ideas?

Try exporting the video as a .mp4
Also, download Quicktime for Windows if the .mp4 doesn't work.

  • How to save memory by cutting video (Trim) in iPhoto

I am able to trim video down to the size I want in iPhoto, but this does not seem to cut down the file size
I suspect iphoto is saving the full size video clip somewhere.
How can I trim to fit in order to save space on my hard drive?

No need to go to iMovie to trim and save. If you export export your trimmed video/movie file out of iPhoto via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export with Kind = Current it will be the trimmed version and smaller than the original.

  • How do you trim videos in Photo Booth on the OS X Mavericks?

I recently updated to the new OS X Mavericks. I don't know how to trim videos on Photo Booth though. Before I updated, there was a "trim" button on the bottom right side of the video that was playing, but I'm not sure where it is now. Is it even possible to trim videos anymore? Thank you

After you take your video and it appears on that little strip at the bottom, click and drag the video you want to trim onto your desktop. Then right click and choose Open With > Quicktime Player.app (It should be default.)
Then when it's open, press Command-T on your keyboard or go to the Edit menu and click Trim...
Then drag the little yellow handles to where you want to trim it to and hit the Trim button.
Then press Command-S to save it, or click the little share/export on the player controls to send it to Facebook or whatever you choose.
    Hope this helps,
    xeni

  • Export trimmed video

How do I export a video after trimming it? It seems I can only export "Original" (exporting "Current" saves an image of the first frame).
    I'm using iPhoto '11 (version 9.1.5).

No.  Lightroom doesn't correctly handle video metadata, unfortunately.   Please add your vote and opinion to this topic in the official Adobe feedback forum: Lightroom: Metadata applied to videos in Lightroom isn't available in other applications
