How do I export bookmarks in WIndows 2000 + FF 12 to a new computer running Windows 8 + IE? The instructions I found don't work.

The instructions I found talk about Windows XP and selecting a history tab and then selecting export. Can't find this on my browser.

You can copy/overwrite [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Places.sqlite places.sqlite] in the Windows 2000 Firefox profile folder into the Windows 8 Firefox profile folder. This would bring in both the bookmarks and history.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.

When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

With my old computer I could easily download video clips, they would open and play as soon as the download had ended. Now I have to click on the download box and click on "Play". Also, when I wanted to keep a clip, I just right clicked and a menu appeared and I would then click on "Save as" or similar. Now there doesn't appear to be any way to save the clips. Apart from a faster and more powerful computer I feel I've gone backwards. Can anyone help?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Hi turingtest2 - thanks for the reply. As you say It is how it is - and I have three workstations in this home (not counting three for my children and one for the family) and I pretty much always have more than one OS on each - that's how it is for me. I shouldn't have to worry about how many OSs I have (or how often I change them) just to have music while I'm working - through the PC sound system that is. I never have to worry about any other software, only iTunes. Once in a while (in the past) I've made a vendor call if I changed to many things to often (like CPU, GPU, memory, etc - or even a replacement MB) - but that hasn't happened in a couple years (at least since Vista) so I think (hope) they have fixed that for good. And even then it was a quick call and problem resolved. The only (glaring) constant problem is iTunes - limiting my own use of my own music (by counting an OS as a physical PC). Even with VM (which is just another OS) - although you can Attach things to multiple active OSs - it's still your own (purchased) music - and all on one PC. Thanks again!

I want to upgrade my computer and did a Windows Easy Transfer to my new one. My Firefox bookmarks did not show up on my new computer so I used Firefox Sync-which worked fine. Now that I have the bookmarks on the new computer, can I erase the old computer and still have the bookmarks on the new one.

First, disconnect your old computer from Firefox Sync so you don't accidentally delete the data from sync, but then yes you should be good to go.

Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
Windows: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number and check.

HELP! Years ago - SEVEN to be exact- I PURCHASED Adobe CS2 and used it extensively. Then I was in an accident that took five years to recover from. After my recovery I tried to get back to using my Adobe products only to find that Adobe was discouraging use of CS2 and since I OWN a LICENSE and that was the LAST version I used I wanted to begin again with a version I am familiar with. Many months later, apparently I wasn't the only one who wanted to KEEP USING CS2 and now Adobe has made it possible to download this version for PC and MAC, BUT due to OS compatibility issues Adobe continues to discourage downloading and use. HERE'S THE THING: I have the SAME SYSTEM running the SAME OS as when I first PURCHASED IT. I have downloaded the EXACT SAME VERSION of CS2. It installs fine. But I cannot OPEN the application and the troubleshooter reports there are "COMPATIBILITY ISSUES". WHY?!?!?!?!?

Yes, I have. My system was completely cleaned of everything and I'm just now RE-INSTALLING CS2 for Windows2000 XP from the Adobe site that gives you versions to select for your OS. I have successfully downloaded disks 1,2 and 3 and I can INSTALL disks 1 and 2, but it FAILS at disk 3. I REALLY need to resolve this today because I need to submit some work by tomorrow and the troubleshooting isn't helping!

I have a new computer with widows 8.1. I installed I-tunes newest version. Now I need to download my old songs, to my new computer, off my Nano 5. How do I do this without taking a chance on losing all my old songs ? My Nano 5 showed up on the I-tunes but will not let me transfer new music to it, or download the old ones.

Was having the same problem and found a video that shows how to get your songs back on itunes. I just did it and it's fairly simple.

Having trouble with Adobe X Reader in my new computer running Windows 7 64 bit.

Adobe X Reader is refusing to open from time to time on my new computer. Uninstall and reinstall works sometimes but not always. I have run all the normal checks on my system and cannot figure out what to do to get this application running consistently. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cannot sync ipad Air with new computer running windows 8

With new computer (HP Envy 27) running with windows 8, I have the latest iTunes installed, and successfully transferred my itunes library (books, music, TV programs, podcasts etc) to the new computer. I've tried multiple times to sync my iPad Air with no success. Only the Podcasts and Apps have been synched. No TV programs, and only a few music albums and books came across, despite the fact I selected the albums and books to synch individually. Can anyone help please?

Since you are able to sync some content and not all, I would first unsync (uncheck the box and hit apply) for a category (lets say books), then go back and re-sync (check the box again) and select just one item that did not sync before. If it syncs then you know it's not the content.
If it doesn't sync, then you will have to do a little more testing to see what it is, like trying to sync from a new library or new user.
Also, verify in itunes what's on the iPad by showing the sidebar and clicking the arrow next to the iPad on that sidebar. You can see what has made it onto the iPad. If its on the iPad there, but not showing up in the proper place on the iPad's screen (like books in iBooks) then you will need to troubleshoot the device up to maybe even restoring it as new.

I have hundred of bookmarks in an old PC with windows XP operating system. I would like to copy all these bookmarks in a fast way and put them in a new PC with Window7.

The bookmarkbackups folder contains .json files which can be used to restore -- completely replace bookmark on your new system with the old bookmarks. But I think you would be better off by bringing over your entire Firefox profile.
