  • How do I export my DVD player bookmarks

    Greetings everyone,
I am upgrading to 10.5 and I was hoping to be able to take my DVD player bookmarks with me. The 10.4.11 has DVD player 4.6.5. I'm not sure what 10.5 has but I was wondering how to export the bookmarks and import them into the 10.5 player.
    Thank You for any help
    Marco

Thank you for your response. I actually purchase a used laptop and installed 10.5 on it and everything seams to be working fine. I want to completely reformat the old computer and do a clean install of 10.5. I have never done a bootable back up, but that is a good idea for the new (used) laptop.
I know where the bookmarks are in 10.4- user folder-Library-Application support-DVD player-settings. I am just not sure what to do in 10.5. I don't think it is stored in the same place.

  • How do I restore firefox, saving previous bookmarks, by the least drastic method

Within the last several days, I have received on Firefox a Norton Alert as to higher memory usage, a stop error blue screen message concerning drivers and possibly unrecoverable hardware damage and another Alert this time concerning CPU usage. In an unrelated develoopment, I unplugged most of my cables in order to move computer away from my window due to the rainstorm. ( but later checked the cables) I also dropped the modem twice ( it still indicates things are working) I got online on Firefox but I could not get sound. I followed the step by step recommendations from EHow.com to determine what was wrong with the sound but could not get any. I decided to try"Driver Tool from SafeCart., but when they wanted to charge me plus taek my personal info I did not run the program. Finally, I hit upon the idea of solving the problem by eliminating currently operating files from Windows TAsk Manager. I deleted only one the one at the top, the most recent: " plugcontainer.exe. " That was enough. Needless to say, the action didn't restore my sound; it only crashed the firefox. I'm on IE now. I can't do Firefox. Whenever I try I get crashreport. I belive I have the latest or near the lastest version. Any help especially in selecting what is more likely to be relevant and what isn't from anyone will be greatly appreciated,

    a little by-pass way !
download chrome because it has "import data from another browser" , ie9 it has not.
after downloading and install heat the FRENCH KEY then OPTIONS then in Preference go to PERSONAL STUFF then BROWSING DATA and IMPORT DATA FROM ANOTHER BROWSER then import FAVORITE-BOOKMARKS from FIREFOX. If all is ok you have it in chrome that mean you don't lost it. BUT i don't now how to import FIREFOX with this after re-install it.
    i hope i help !
by the way plugin-container.exe is essential for firefox
    than you

  • How do uninstall / reinstall Firefox without losing bookmarks / favorites

I recently upgraded Firefox to the 'optimized for Yahoo' version and have been experiencing slow starts and stalls. This happened once before when I upgraded Internet Explorer to an 'optimized for Yahoo' version. I was able to uninstall it and reinstalled the latest version from Microsoft, but I lost all my bookmarks / favorites in the process.

I reinstalled Firefox and the problem was solved. I have to say I am pretty disappointed with the support that I have got here. The helpers listed all the ways that I try to fix the problem but none of them worked. Also backing up data did not do anything. I lost all my history and saved password even though I followed the exact same steps as you gave me.
Seems like a lot of people are facing the youtube video problem, hope you guys can figure out how to fix it so that everyone is satisfied with using your service.
    Thank you.

  • How do I get Firefox to show bookmarks in a permanent, vertical column on left side of the screen?

IE allows me to bookmark my favorites and keep them listed in a vertical column on the left side of the screen--which I keep open at all times. Is that function possible in Firefox?

To open the Bookmarks sidebar, in the View menu select Sidebar and then Bookmarks. Alternatively use the keyboard shortcut Control+B

  • I have a second computer. How do I get Firefox with my bookmarks etc. on the second computer?

I downloaded firefox, but did not see a sign in function that would bring up the same home page etc on the second computer.

If you are wanting to use Firefox Sync to synchronize the data, you need to set up the account on both computers. For details on using Firefox Sync see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync
You can copy the bookmarks and other data between the two computers. There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the FEBE add-on ([https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/febe/]) which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free MozBackup utility ([http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/]).

  • How to I tell Firefox to display bookmarks in aphabetical order as the default?

I can sort A-Z in "Organize Bookmarks" window, but the next time I look for a book mark, the sequence seems to revert to random. I want to make the A-Z sort the default for every time I look for a bookmark. Thanks.

Sorting in the Library window is temporary and lasts only for the time that the Library window is open.
    *See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Sorting+bookmarks
    To keep Bookmarks sorted automatically:
    *SortPlaces add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9275

  • How can I export my Firefox bookmarks (and the hierarchical structure of folders) to the Scrapbook Add-On?

I'm trying to replicate the hierarchical structure of my Firefox bookmarks in Scrapbook and save the webpages automatically. Is that possible in an automatic (or easy) way?
    Many thanks

I'm not sure how Scrapbook works, but if you open a web page, can it automatically capture all the linked pages? If so, try this:
    (1) Export your bookmarks to an HTML file, and save it in a convenient locaiton (e.g., desktop). This article has the steps: [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]].
    (2) Open the file you just created in Firefox. You could double-click the file, or use Open from the menu, or drag and drop it on an open tab.
    Will Scrapbook work with that?

  • How do I export or save Bookmarks from Firefox

I have created a few Bookmark folders with Firefox. Each folder of course containers several individual bookmarks.
How to I save this few Bookmark folder into a file, and then transfer it to Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera or other browsers.
    Regards
    Daniel Low

Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks
This article explains how to export your bookmarks to an HTML file, which can be used as a backup or for importing into another web browser.
For instructions specific to these other browsers, see Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer, Export bookmarks to Opera and Export bookmarks to Safari.
Click the Bookmarks button on the right side of the navigation toolbar and select Show All Bookmarks to open the Library window.
From the toolbar on the Library window, click Import and Backup and choose Export Bookmarks to HTML....
In the Export Bookmarks File window that opens, choose a location to save the file, which is named bookmarks.html by default. The desktop is usually a good spot, but any place that is easy to remember will work.
Click the Save button. The Export Bookmarks File window will close.
    Close the Library window.
Your bookmarks are now successfully exported from Firefox. The bookmarks HTML file you saved is now ready to be imported into another web browser.

  • How do I stop Firefox from updating Internet Explorer with my bookmarks?

I upgraded Mozilla Firefox recently and must have agreed to merge bookmarks. All my bookmarks now appear in Internet Explorer also. Any changes affect explorer. I can't figure out how to stop. I can disable on the explorer end but not Firefox.

I do not fully understand what you are trying to explain.
Firefox certainly does not ordinarily update or change your IE favourites.
(You are able to export Firefox bookmarks in a suitable {HTML} format though)
Firefox bookmarks are not the same as IE's favourites. You are able to import the HTML favourites from IE. Firefox then converts these to the required Firefox formats and keeps the bookmarks to itself.
Unless possibly you have some utility that exports the Firefox bookmarks and over writes the IE files ?
Or maybe you are just reading HTML files and folders with Firefox instead of using Firefox bookmarks.
Have a quick read of these articles and post bask with more information about what is happening.

  • How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in User folder on same (new) PC, into Firefox?

How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in User folder on same (new) PC, into Firefox? I have exported the Firefox bookmarks from my old PC into a [Windows 8] folder on my new PC.
When I use the Firefox import facility, it will only import one bookmark at a time - and then it bookmarks all the main pages on the bookmarked website, not just the one which I originally bookmarked. It also does not import the information stored in the bookmark tag.

    Sure thing.
    # Open the run dialog by holding the Windows key and pressing R
    # Type <code>%appdata%</code> into the run window and press ok
    # Open the ''Mozilla'' folder
    # Open the ''Firefox'' folder
    # Open the ''Profiles'' folder
    # Copy the folder that is located in this folder to a USB drive
    # Install and run Firefox on the new computer
    # Close Firefox
    # Repeat steps 1 to 5 on the new computer
    # Open the folder that you copied from the old computer
    # Copy the contents of that folder into the folder located inside of the new computer's profile folder
    # Allow Windows to replace any duplicate folders with the ones that you are copying onto the computer is prompted

  • On windows 7 pro, how do i add firefox bookmarks to the start menu?

On Windows 7 professional, how do I add firefox bookmarks to the start menu so I can access my bookmarks without opening firefox first?

Only Favorites can be displayed as a submenu of the Start Menu. You can convert your Firefox bookmarks to IE favorites as follows:
    # [[Exporting bookmarks to an HTML file|Export your bookmarks to an HTML file]].
    # [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Import-or-export-favorites-in-Internet-Explorer Import the bookmarks in Internet Explorer].
    # In Firefox, install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/plainoldfavorites/ the PlainOldFavorites extension]. This will allow you to create and manage favorites from Firefox.
    # Alternatively, if you use both browsers, you can keep bookmarks and favorites synchronized with an extension like [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/xmarks-sync/ Xmarks Sync].

  • How do I create a LINK to BOOKMARKS which will open FireFox like favorites and IE ?

Click on a 'link' in FAVORITES and the default browser will open and present the web page for the link!
HOW do I CREATE a 'BOOKMARKS' that will display my FireFox links that will open the default browser ((FireFox)) and present the web page for the link?????

Firefox can export your bookmarks as a web page when you exit the browser, and you can set a specific location for that, so in theory you could have a shortcut to a reasonably up-to-date version of the file. I don't know whether it can be pinned to the Windows 8 start screen, but a shortcut on the traditional desktop interface should allow this regular swapping of the target file (or you could simply save it to the desktop directly).
To set this up, you need to do a little work in the about:config preferences editor. Note: this is based on [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/967389#answer-465903 cor-el's post here], and I haven't tried it myself yet.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''book''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML''' preference to switch it from false to true.
When Firefox exits, your bookmarks should be exported to a web page named bookmarks.html in your currently active Firefox settings folder (profile folder). To change the location and/or file name:
    (4) Select and copy the following preference name:
    '''browser.bookmarks.file'''
Next, right-click any existing preference and choose New > String
Paste browser.bookmarks.file as the name and then Firefox will prompt you for the location. You can put anything temporarily, then come back and double-click to edit and paste in the desired full location and file name such as:
    C:\Users\''username''\Desktop\mybookmarks.html
(Your ''username'' obviously will be different than mine...)

  • How can I backup/save my Firefox for Android bookmarks?

I would like to be able to save/export/backup my Firefox for Android bookmarks to a file on my Samsung Tab 2 tablet for safety.
How can this be done or CAN it even be done.

They cannot be backed up to a file. You can use Firefox Sync, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync
