How do I export my data from iphone 3g onto my new PC??

My last pc got the blue screen of death, now I have a new laptop and couldnt find within the forums how to export my pictures and back up my new contacts so I can do an update on my iphone; its been bugging out since my last update back in october. Any insights would help, Thanks!

Best option is to use the external backup you made and restore the iTunes folder to your new computer.

Help, how to restore backed-up data from old 3GS to my new 3GS?

Hi I recently got a replacement phone, and when i synced it to iTunes, the prompt to restore my backed-up data came up. However when I tried to restore, it prompted me to update my new phone's software to 3.1 first.
So now, after updating my software, how do I restore the data from my old phone?
Coz the first prompt does not appear anymore.

Upgrade to 3.1 first, do not sync or backup. After you upgrade, reconnect & select restore from previous backup & all your data will be put back on the new phone.
When you right click on your phone under devices in the right column, one of your choices will be restore from backup.

Trying to figure out how to restore an iPhoto Library from a backup onto a new system.

I had an old imac that died but I have backups of everything. I want to restore the iPhoto Libary to another system on another login
The old system was an iMac that was running I think either 10.5.8 or 10.6 and I think iPhoto6. I want to restore from a backup onto a newer iMac running 10.8.1 with iPhoto 9.3.2. When I go to the backup I see the iphoto libray, but it does not show the icon I was expecting. What I see is
Not the icon I thought I would see. When I double click I get a terminal window and I can see all of the files
So how can I get these photos onto my new system?

The backup was made via Time Machine. I want to take an account from an old machine to a different newer machine in the house. I tried using the migration assitant to move files onto the new system and all seems well except for photos. When iPhoto startes up it appears to recognize the photos and I can see thumbnails when I flip through, but I do not see full sized photos. How can i see all of the full sixe photos and make sure the conversion pulled my pictures over?

If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

I recently bought a new macbook pro with retina display after owning an iBook G4 and a powermac for 7 years but I now want to transfer the data from both of my computers (which both only have one account) onto my new computer. Migrating is simple and complicated at the same time, in your case simple to transfer files (e.g. films, pictures, docs...), and difficult for settings and all hidden stuff. My piece of advice is to use iBackup (grapefruit.ch) for system settings, which does not take too much, and simple drag-and-drop from older macs unto the new one. I would use firewire, as Retina does not this port, try to purchase a FW-to-ThB adapter, it may be worth having it. Connect the new mac to the old ones one after another, and restart the old ones in target mode (press T after chime), they will turn intro external drives, and may easily transfer anything.
If you are not familiar with iBackup, perhaps it is better to Migration Assistant, I do hope it works with older Mac OS. Note that, used after settings a new mac, it will create new users for the transfered data. The advantage is, they will transfer files and settings, but perhaps more than you really need.
Ort, as BGreg says, manual transfer of all files, this may prove slower, but you may have full control of all operations.

You can backup your current iPad, and then restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (if you don't have the apps on your computer then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519)
The restore won't copy passwords onto a different device, so you will need to re-enter your email, router, and any website passwords onto the new iPad
