How do I Export songs?

How do i export songs from my ipod, to itunes? Please respond
  Windows XP

Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods will depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
I can't vouch that any of them will work with iTunes version 7.

  • How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program or laptop?

How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program/computer? The songs in question are originals composed by my boyfriend in Garage Band. We have full rights to them, but they import into iTunes like all the other artists songs. His hard drive crashed and I have the only copies. I have no access to my iMac for 2 months while we tour our show and we need them on the tour. We are in dire straights if we can not access these songs and the iPad will not hook up to our equipment. Plus we need to add a track to a promotional video. So how can we access our own music?
    Thanks.

If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation, also it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

  • How do I EXPORT songs from iPhone to iMac?

Trying to free up space on iPhone by exporting songs BACK to iMac iTunes Library.

If you have the songs already in your iTunes library, just delete them from your phone.
You can't move music from an iPhone to iTunes.  Only from iTunes to an iDevice.  Apple requires this to keep people from sharing music.
Any song you purchased from iTunes will be available to download again later.

How do I put songs from my iphone onto itunes?

The only way to do this is to purchase 3rd party software such as Touch Copy.  iTunes will transfer purchased music from your phone to your iTunes library (by right-clicking on your phone in iTunes and selecting Transfer Purchases), but not music that wasn't purchased from iTunes.  If the other computer is at your home, on the same network and logged into the same Apple ID you can use Home Sharing to copy music from one iTunes library to the other (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819).

  • How can I export songs with full info (INCLUDING LYRICS) to file for future use? [x]

    Hi everyone,
I got my new iPod touch 4th gen, and I spend literally all day to edit songs' info like Artist, Lyrics, Album... with like thousand songs.. Then I've tried to export them fully for future use as back up, but I could not find any option to do so. Exporting library and playlist only saves info for basic tags but no lyrics in it. So what should I do? I've tried iTunes Export and mp3Tag but I still could not do it.
I would appreciate much any help for me to back up full information of songs for future use.
    Regards,
    [x]

    Thanks for the responses.
I forgot to mention the dimensions I need the file to be at, sorry. Overnight Prints requires that the uploaded file be at 2.13 inches wide by 6.13 inches high (or 638 by 1838 pixels) at 300 dpi. I think I understand what Scott Falkner means by pixels are not a unit of measure. However, I have been using inches in Illustrator, with the file being set to the height and width (in inches) required by Overnight Prints.
Here is what I have uploaded to Overnight Prints so far:
    - Illustrator file set to 2.13 inches wide by 6.13 inches high – Upload preview on Overnight Prints is correct size, but shows the bookmark as pixelated/blurry.
    - Saved above Illustrator file as copy: “Press Quality Preset” PDF – Upload preview on Overnight Prints is correct size, but the bookmark is still pixelated/blurry.
    - Exported same Illustrator file as a PNG (638 pixels wide by 1838 pixels high - 300dpi) – Upload preview on Overnight Prints is correct size, but shows the bookmark as pixelated/blurry.
    - Creating an Illustrator file at 638 by 1838 pixels makes any file that is uploaded preview on Overnight Prints as too large, but not pixelated/blurry (I think I now understand why, just covering all my bases).
So, I guess my more specific question would be:
How can I create a file that I can upload to Overnight Prints (TIF, PDF, JPG, EPS, PNG, or AI) that ends up at the dimensions (in inches) required, while not appearing (at least in the upload preview) as low resolution (pixelated/blurry)?
Thanks in advance for any responses (especially to such a novice question).

  • How to really export songs to AIFF

Brought a mix tape (through USB cassette convertor) into iTunes. iTunes gave it an m4a extension. Need to edit and break up songs in Spin Doctor, which needs AIFF. My only option to convert is AAC file converts but still has the proprietary m4a extension. Cannot edit. These aren't aren't locked iTunes songs. Any ideas how get to AIFF?
The only way I can do easily is burn problem file to CD, then pull off CD

    Kurt,
    Try this:
In iTunes>Preferences>Importing and select Import using AIFF Encoder from the Import Using drop down menu.
Now select your track and then choose Advanced>Convert Selection to AIFF.
Of course you might also consider importing them to iTunes as AIFF files in the first place.

I just got a new computer and need to take the songs from my ipod and store them on my new computer....Also, is there an easy way to transfer my songs from my old computer to my new one???
    Thanks

"I just got a new computer and need to take the songs from my ipod and store them on my new computer"
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

  • Exporting songs to new computer

I just purchased a new laptop, and at a minimum I want to be able to convert the songs I purchased on iTunes to my new laptop.
How do you export songs on old computer, and import into the iTunes on new computer?
When I try to transfer, I get the error message "Some of the purchased items in the iPod could not be transferred to your iTunes library because you are not authorized to play them on this computer. To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store, chose Store > Authorized Computer."
This continues to occur even after I authorize the computer.
