How do I export TIFF versions of my images?

Just starting to play with the demo. How do I export TIFF versions of my images? Will I need to open RAW files in different application, such as Canon Digital Photo Professional?

No,
Just right click and choose "export version" there will be a ton of options and you can make your own presets from there as well.

  • How to import/export a version?

    Hi,
    how to import/export a version?

Not sure what you are asking here. If you are asking how to get data into DRM, then you are talking about the import process. If you are talking about how to get data out to other receiving systems, then you are talking the export process. Both of those processes are documented in the user help that comes with DRM.
If you are talking about an entire version, from say the PROD area to the DEV area, that process is dependent on what the database repository is stored in (ORACLE or SQL).

  • How can I export several versions at the same time?

    Greetings -
I'm looking for something that I may just be missing, and hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
Basically, I'd like to be able to select an image in my library and export several versions at the same time. For example, I select a photo and export JPG, TIFF and PSD versions in one shot without having to run three separate export requests - essentially a batch action. I can't imagine that this isn't built in already - I'm just assuming that I'm missing something obvious.
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone might have.
    John.

Fwiw, I've not seen this requested before.
This kind of Export option is very typical, Kirby, when the rendering of the exported version will take a long time, for example for video or audio. Then you can share several formats at once, to render a version suitable for the web, for viewing on the computer, or the iPhone at the same time. That is really useful, if you render a movie at a full HD resolution and don't have to do it again for an iPhone/iPod version.
QuickTime 7 does this for the "File > Export for Web" option, for example. You can get three versions of your final movie at the same time.
And I just checked, the new iMovie Theater does this as well, when sharing a movie to the Theater:
When you add a movie, trailer, or clip to the Theater, iMovie creates versions of your movie tailored for local playback, playback on an iOS device, and streaming.
Come to think about it - exporting a webpage from Aperture will also export thumbnail sized images plus a larger version for downloading.

  • How do I save multiple versions of an image from CS5 to LR4?

After using "edit in" to take an image from LR3 to CS5, I would then save the edited image by "save as" then add -1 for an edited version, -2 for b&w, -3 for a funky edit, etc. (i.e. name-1 or name-2 would be typical file names) They would all save to lightroom. However, since I upgraded to LR4, I can't do that anymore or it doesn't save the image in LR. This has thrown my whole workflow out of whack - especially since I want to use the album module and need those versions of the images for the album.
Please help. I'm getting behind on work while I try to figure this out.
    Thanks in advance
    Jeanie

You won't be able to do that until you upgrade to Photoshop CS6 and ACR 7. As it is now, from LR4 to CS5, Lightroom has to do the rendering and that requires that LR4 save out a tiff first them open it into Photoshop. I'm also pretty sure this applies to CS5 even if you are using ACR 6.7.
When ACR 7 in CS6 comes out, Lightroom can use a scrit called Bridge talk to send the image from Lightroom 4 into ACR 7 and then into Photoshop. With this workflow, LR4 doesn't have to save the tiff before sending it to Photoshop CS6. From there you'll be able to do the multiple Save As and have LR4 know where those images are...

  • How do I export a PDF to an image I can use on Facebook?

how do I export a pdf picture to facebook?

    Hi 56048,
I believe that Facebook accepts images in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif format. You could use either Acrobat or the ExportPDF online service to save your PDF file in an image format that Facebook supports.
If you don't have Acrobat, you can download a free 30-day trial from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
If you're interested in ExportPDF, you can read more that it here: https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

  • How do I export or save smaller sized images?

I have a design that is A3 size (i.e. 297 × 420mm) and 300dpi. I'd like to save out various versions of the image: one at full size, one at 150 dpi, one at A4 (i.e. 210 × 297mm) 150 dpi, and one at A4 72dpi. At the moment I'm doing this by saving different versions of the Photoshop PSD file and then doing a 'Save As' jpg from each of those.
What's the best way to save multiple sized versions of a design?
If I resize an image in Photoshop to be smaller and/or fewer DPI is that destructive or can I go back without loss of clarity? (I'm guessing not as the PSD file sizes are so different.)

I think you and Curt are saying the same thing. As long as you keep the original render intacted.
Why the  72ppi? If it is for the web or any video screen the ppi is irrelevent and therefore not required, you only need to deal with pixels.
As for your question on if there is a quality loss, that depends on the resample check box when you resize the image in photoshop. That check box when not checked disables the ability to alter the actual size in pixels. When checked you can type in size size in pixels.
This also affects the size of the print when adjusting the ppi. Because the pixels are locked the size of the print must change, or if you alter the print size the ppi must change.
When the resample check box is checked, then the print size can stay the same when altering the ppi but the size in pixels changes.
    Use this forumla:
width in pixels / ppi = width in inches
width in inches X ppi = width in pixels
width in inches / width in pixels = ppi
You can insert height and metric system where appropriate.
For help speeding up the process of changing the sizes that are required. Take a look at the batch command, image processor script and actions. Using these can help automate your process. The image processor does not alter the original image, it make a copy in a seperate folder that is usually located inside the folder of the original image.

  • How do In Aperture, how do I export a version of a photo as a raw file?

I am taking a Macro class and need to bring files to class in a raw format.  So I want to adjust my photos and then export the adjusted photo file as a raw file.
Can this be done? If so how.

No, it cannot be done.  RAW describes a family of proprietary sensor data file formats.  RAW is not itself a file format, and RAW files are not image-format files.  RAW files must be converted to an image in order to be displayed.  RAW converters do this.
You can save adjusted Images in Aperture in several useful formats.
You can take either the RAW file (use "File→Export→Master", or you can take an image-format file based on the adjusted Image (use "File→Export→Version").

  • How do I Export a Chart as an Image from Numbers?

I am trying to export a chart from Numbers or Pages as a JPG. I have copied it to my clipboard and opened it in Preview but the image is very pixelated. Are there any other ways to do this? I'm trying to upload the image to a website.
Additionally, how can I get it so that the entire sheet is one color, rather than just the chart itself? All the axis labels remain white, but I would like to fill those in as well with the same color as the chart itself. The included screenshot should provide further detail.

It isn't as easy as it should be.  Here is a way to get a good copy of it:
Print the page that has the chart but choose  "Open PDF in Preview" instead of sending it to your printer.
In Preview, using the rectangular selection tool, select the chart and whatever other elements you might want to include (title, legend, anything else nearby).
    Copy
New from Clipboard to create a new document from it. Or you can paste it in another app.
This should give you an exact copy of what you had in Numbers and it will not be pixelated.

  • How do you export a movie to an image sequence in iMovie 10.0.4?

    Hi,
I'm trying to create an animated gif.  In order to do so I need to export my short two-second movie as a sequence of .jpg's or .png's.  This was possible in earlier versions, but I can't find it on this one.
I'm using an iMac with OS 10.9.4 running iMovie 10.0.4
If it isn't possible in iMovie 10.0.4, is there another way to create a sequence of images from a short movie using native tools?
    Thank you!

    I see.
I know that QuickTime Pro can do it.

    But that's a $29.99 purchase.
Not sure about the regular QuickTime Player 7

There's also something called Movie2Picture in the Mac App store that I think will do it, but I have no experience with it.
Lastly, check out MPEG Streamclip it's free and I bet it will export to an image sequence, though I haven't tried it.

  • How do I export HDV, DV and still images as one HDV sequence?

Hi, my sequence (HDV-PAL) contains mainly HDV footage but also a few DV shots and stills that have a few applied effects. I want to export the whole thing as HDV (because it will be shown on a big screen) and don't mind a bit of lost quality on the DV sections, but would like the best possible outcome. I know it's difficult to mix DV and HDV together, but I've done it, the project is complete, I can't recapture anything (will take too long) and I need to export this thing as beautifully as possible. At the moment any exporting (I've tried lots of different codecs) makes the different fields go crazy, and if I try dump the whole project on a DV50 sequence then all mixed media ratios freak out and become huge. I haven't tried frame blending or blurring yet because I don't know anything about it...
Is there a way to export this project to DVD and also to a DV TAPE without trashing my DV and still images and conserving the high res HDV footage?

    PowerMacG5 Quad   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   2.5G RAM

To make the MPEG for the DVD and the DV version: Choose file/export/QuickTime Movie... then check ON the "make self contained" option. Open that file in Compressor and choose the lowest time preset you can. Then select another preset to use for that same compression session... from the Advanced Format conversions, choose the DV NTSC preset. The resulting movie will be a DV file you can record to DV tape.
It's pretty likely this will take quite a while to do...

  • How to make a portrait version of this image

i had someone ask me to create them a club/nightlife flyer.
they sent me this image as what they wanted for the background.
PROBLEM is, it is in landscape mode. i almost need JUST the background portrait sized WITHOUT the turntables stretching or sized unproportionally.
what is the easiest way to do this? i am skilled in illustrator, NOT photoshop.. so i'm totally clueless to even the basics haha
    please help guys!
    xoxo jen

This picture is a fairly simple one. First, cut out the console - I would use the pen tool. Since you are new to Photoshop, I suggest watching a Youtube tutorial on the pen tool first. You'll find adding a brightness adjustment layer temporarily will help you see the edge. Once finished, place on a black layer. Now add a blank layer and either use the radial gradient tool or the brush tool with 0% hardness to paint the blue in..

  • Export Aperture Versions

I am trying to export Aperture Versions of RAW images for use in iPhoto and will likely edit them with Elements in the future, but need counsel on the file type to use.
I believe iPhoto(8) handles RAW but curiously this format is not available in the output preferences, and selecting TIFF balloons the size considerably. For instance, an original RAW image of 10MB swells to 29MB.
I'm sure I am missing something plainly obvious, but need a nudge to get there.

As I understand it, the only way to create a RAW file is with a digital camera. Which is kinda the point, that a RAW file represents the image information/file straight off the sensor with NO modifications at all. That's why we value RAW files; they're untouched, unprocessed, unscrewed up, and represent a clean slate or blank canvas from which to start our processing, err, process. Thats why you can't export an adjusted image as a RAW file; as it's been adjusted, it's no longer the RAW original.
If you're looking for a way to export your original (untouched) RAW file you can choose Export Master from the file menu, and if your original was a RAW file (not a Jpeg etc), Aperture will spit a copy of the original RAW file to wherever you specifiy. You can then import that file into iPhoto, but you'll be starting from scratch in terms of processing that image in iPhoto.
Alternately, you can export a jpeg, tiff, .psd etc of your adjusted RAW file using Export Version, and import that into iPhoto. From your post it sounds like you should:
Open your RAW file in Elements using the Open in External Editor command (in the Image menu), perform your adjustments in Elements, and then save a copy to the desktop.
Then import that Elements .psd file into iPhoto and keep working on the image from within iPhoto.
But that seems to be missing the point of Aperture, and missing out on the advantages. You'll have created perhaps 50MB worth of extra files, spent lots of time in work arounds, and seems to relegate Aperture to an image viewer like Adobe Bridge. It's like buying a new car so you've got a handy drinks holder or because you need some storage space about the size of a glove compartment, and what do you know, that new Honda has a glove compartment!
Keep all your adjustments in Aperture, you'll save space, time and hassle. If you absolutely need all the whizzbang Photoshop stuff Photoshop does, then storing, keywording and holding the file in iPhoto sounds like the best bet. From there you can take the image into and back from Elements when you need to, but each time it'll create a 25-50-ish MB Photoshop file.
Bummer huh? Which is why we have Aperture
I've never shared libraries between iPhoto and Aperture (or vice versa), but understand there are ways too (perhaps only the previews though), but maybe someone else can offer more info here?

  • How do I export versions to a memory stick

    Hi
I said that I would do a wedding for a friend, although know I wish I had not and just stuck to Landscape photography.
He is going to require the adjusted version, "i believe" so, all I want to do is export adjusted versions, possibly masters to a DVD or Memory stick but I can find nothing that actually tells you how to do this.
I hope someone can explain how to do this as I cannot afford to make a mistake.
    Thanks

Will he be able to use a memory stick formatted for  Mac, OS X Extended.
He will not be able to read a stick formatted for Mac. Use the filesystem that the stick will come preformatted with. That will usually be a file system that both mac and Windows systems can write to.
Just avoid long filenames with ethnic characters, when you are naming the files.
The memory stick will be better than a CD/DVD.
    To elaborate on Frank's answer:
    Insert the USB stick:
Select the images you want to export in the Browser .
Use File > Export > Versions
Select your USB stick in the file chooser.
For the highest quality use "Jpeg > Original size" (or" tiff > Original size")
Select a naming scheme in the export dialog.
    Export.
If you want to write several USB sticks, you may want to export to a folder on your Desktop and copy this folder to each stick using the Finder.
