How do I extract files from a TimeCapsule?
Here is the background in note form!
-bought an iMac and TimeCapsule in 2007/2008
-two weeks ago, computer started to show signs of age
-upgraded to Mavericks
-computer is extremely slow
-was having serious issues with startup, etc
-reset RAM and started up in target disk mode with no resolve
-computer would take up to an hour to shut off
-computer would load to the gray screen with the apple logo and then shut itself off
-went to store to buy new Mac Mini
-mac mini is working fine
-went to restore files from TimeCapsule, however, the TimeCapsule screen says there are no backups available yet the system says the TimeCapsule is full
-SOOOOOO, how can I go directly into the Time Capsule and take the files from my old user accound that were backed up from my iMac?

You might be in big trouble if you let the iMac do a backup whilst in Mavericks. It does tend to smash the old backups.
If the normal restore doesn't work, try mounting the sparsebundle manually and check.

Upgrading an old computer to Mavericks to fix up issues.. I wish you didn't do that.
Or if you wanted to .. take a disk image from the hard disk beforehand.
iMac might still work in target mode to the mini.

Now I must respond to your assumption that it's a TM backup.
ANY MAC WITH LEOPARD CAN ACCESS THE TM BACKUP. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT ACTUAL MAC, AS YOU STATED, MADVILLIAN!
However, if the only accessible Mac is 5 hours away, then it's a 10 hour return trip to solve his/her problem.
They are on your capsule, but I don't think they are in a basic format that you can just plug in and grab. Hopefully I am wrong and somebody will have a better answer for you.
If the OP is trying to access the TC HDD for files he/she placed there, but cannot, then he/she would need to have access to the TC either already setup or using AirPort Utility (Mac or PC). -

I'm trying to extract the files from a dvd back to Premiere, the project was assembled with Premiere Pro 1.5, I need to re-edit that same project. The dvd is not a data disk.
Please help!!Along with the material in Eddie's link, you might want to read over this ARTICLE by Jeff Bellune, posted in the Adobe Encore FAQ's. While it addresses getting the material into Encore for authoring, much will apply to your situation.
Personally, I use an A-D bridge (though the file structure is already in digital form) to Capture directly from my DVD player to my computer. This is for non-commercial DVD's from my clients, where the original material is no longer available.. It's quick, easy and my Capture software Exports as DV-AVI Type II, so there is no additional conversion needed. If I need to work on the Menu structure, etc., then I use a workflow similar to Jeff's, outlined in his article.

Add a ZipEntry for each entry in the jar file.
To read jar files use the class JarInputStream and get all JarEntry.

But take care on text threads accross several pages. If you delete a page with a text frame linked to a thread accross several pages, the text will change to the beginning of the thread on every first page.
So it might be good to run a script which will unlink threadened text frames before.

Sounds a bit stupid but how do you extract images from Apples 'Numbers 3' on a Mac? I have a client that sends images in XLS files, that normally in Word I would Alt Click and 'save as...'
I was trying to stop using Word but this simple little feature will make all the difference.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your response. Sadly if you do this it copies in to the MACs clipboard as a snap shot of the image at the dimensions in Numbers.
Eg.
An image I've extracted from the document via Excel saved out at it's original dimensions 1024 x 300px, even though it was placed, then scaled down to 300px wide on the sheet.
Same image copied then pasted in to an image editor (as I couldn't paste into finder) was only 300px wide.
The feature I need is to be able to save out the original image placed in the Numbers sheet.
Anyone with ideas on this? -
Tried to install OS X Yosemite on my MacBook. Got message that it could not be installed on my computer due to error while extracting files from package "Essentials.pkg". When i quit the installer as recommended it goes in a loop and gets stuck.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the installer file isn't working. Have you tried deleting the installer and redownloading the installer? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!

how to transfer file from ipod touch to i tunes. i have files in my ipod , ut itunes is new so its telling if u sync the ipod all the files will be replaced but no files in the itunes.. so kindly help me how to transfer the files from i pod to itunes......

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

How can I delete files from it?The startup disk is the internal SSD in your MBA. You may delete files by draging the file to Trash (or clicking on them and then execute COMMAND+Delete). Then empty Trash.

How can I access files from a flash drive that were previously saved using a Windows computer? When I attempt to open the file on MacBook Pro, it is asking to "convert file to"; none of the options I choose work. I also have Microsoft Office (with Word) installed on the Mac as well.
Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.
