How do i figure out which email is associated with an old apple id

I have songs from an old ipod that I no longer know the apple ID password to.  I now have an iphone and a new laptop that I want to make sure I can listen to all my music on.  The birthdate doesn't match with my old apple ID and I havve no idea what email address the link is sent to.  Help!!

If you’re the device’s original owner, take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store. If not, you’ll need to contact either the person who is or the one who set the lock.

  • How to find out which list is associated with specific incoming email address

    Hey Guys,
I've a received a request today from a user asking me which list was setup with a specific incoming email address.
Is there a way to find out which list is associated with an email address?
    Thanks

OK after a bit of research I found a way to achieve this.
I simply looked up the email address in ADUC, then did a search in SP with the display name. I could locate the list and manually confirm it was configured with the incoming email address I was looking for.
I also found the below script on Stackoverflow, but got "The 'using' keyword is not supported in this version of the language." when I tried to run it. Any idea how to fix that? I'd like to have a script to link a library to an email address istead of the
    manual approach described above.

  • I'm trying to install OEM SR 2.1: Windows 95B in Qemu...  How do I figure out which brand of CD-ROM drive Qemu emulates since I have three different drive specific boot disks...?

I'm trying to install OEM SR 2.1: Windows 95B in Qemu...  How do I figure out which brand of CD-ROM drive Qemu emulates since I have three different drive specific boot disks...?

Not exactly...; all MS produced Win9X/ME install CDs are ISO-9660 & maybe even Joliet too...  The really confusing part is that not all Windows 98 SE full install CDs are even bootable in the first place (they tend to only ship one if the PC is capable of booting directly from its optical drive...; the vast majority of PCs have to use the chain loading method due to buggy, poorly written, outdated BIOSes...; etc.).  OEM SR 2.1/Windows 95B is really quite special & innovative for its time in that it was the first Service Release of Windows 95 to support larger HDs via FAT32 which back then was still brand new: i.e.: exciting technology & it still has proven to be quite useful & versatile since most flash memory storage devices come pre-formatted FAT32.
There's also a hidden X:\Usbsupp folder on the CD that contains the MS USB 1.1 supplement patches/upgrader: a common mis-nomer is that you don't need to install it unless your PC has USB 1.1 ports.  Even without USB 1.1 ports the upgrades to C:\Windows\system make it a lot less buggy, more secure & stable.  For anyone else that enjoys emulating OEM SR 2.1 there's also a great unofficial SP 1 for it which has so many useful patches in it I'm considering integrating it into all of my install CDs...
Unfortunately I've found that getting it to run decently requires tracking down a bevy of essential but according to MS's not releasing them in patch form optional DLL upgrades...  I guess not all machines are that unreliable but better to have them...; just in case you encounter a PC with a buggy BIOS that has hardware coniptions and/or ACPI/APM bugs.

Anyone know how I can figure out which of my family's 5 Apple devices was used to purchase a specific song via iTunes ?   We all have the same Apple ID/account which makes it tricky...  Thanks!

What I was afraid of.   Thanks.   Seems like someone at Apple should be figuring this out.  Would be nice to link each purchase to a specific device.
That would not be practical or probably even possible since one of the features of recent versions of iTunes and the iTunes Store is to allow new purchases to be automatically downloaded to every device registered to your Apple ID when something is purchased. If you want purchases linked to specific devices, each user should have his or her own iTunes Store account.

  • How do i delete the primary email address associated with my apple id?

My husband deleted the Outlook email account that was associated with my Apple ID as the primary email.  I have two alternate emails also associated with the same Apple ID.  How can I delete the old, Outlook email and use one of the alternates as a primary?  I have tried to do this under "manage my account," but there is no option to delte the primary and select one of the alternates in its place.
I also cannot receive confirmation emails from Apple at the old, primary email address because it has been terminated.  Other Apple help posts indicated this could be a problem, as I need that old account to receive emails pertaining to a switch.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • How do I separate out the unique identities associated with my Apple ID?

How do I separate out the unique identities associated with my Apple ID?
Messages sent from my iPad2 appear on both my iPhone 4s and my kid's iPhone 4s as if my phone, her phone and the ipad2 we are all the same sending device. This only occurs when messaging is initiated from my iPad2.
Conversations I start from the iPad2 show up on my iPhone and her iphone as if she is also the sender, and, if I message her iphone from my iPad she doesn't receive the message. Her device acts as if it is the original sender and logs it as such; messages go unnoticed because her device logs it as a message it sent, not a message recieved- so no message alert. (Ha ha, no, she isn't ignoring me, that is a different story.)
How do I get the system to recognize, and separate the second iphone from messages I send from my iPad2 while keeping her and her device as an authorized user on the same apple ID?
This error only occurs when messaging originates with the iPad2. Any thoughts?
(I worry Mountain Lion will throw all this into a big mess too, messages from my devices showing up on hers and, heaven forbid, vice versa.)

  • How can if figure out which contacts are in both iCloud and on my Mac?

I keep contacts on my Mac and on iCloud.  I want to see which ones are in both databases.  Some of them automatically "linked" and others did not.  The search for showing contacts that are both a member of "my Mac" and a member of "iCloud" does not seem to work.  I also want to figure out which contacts are not in a group and this has been difficult as well.

If you change your preferences so that the defaul is not iCloud then you get two sections like this:
When I don't have it set to On My Mac then I only get one section because all of my cards are in the cloud.

  • I changed my Apple ID to a new email address. How do I authorize older purchases that were made with my old Apple ID?

I'm trying to get Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan to play in iTunes but it keeps prompting me to authorize by asking for my Apple ID & Password. It defaults to my old ID which is a Yahoo email address that I deleted. I replace that ID with my Gmail ID and it says that I'm authorized to play the movie but it still won't play after I select PLAY. If I select Pause and Play again, the Apple ID prompt cycle begins again.
I'd delete this movie but I'm afraid that I will be charged again for redownloading it since there are now 4 versions of this film; Original, Director's Cut and their SD & HD versions.
Is there a solution that will allow me to play this film? One other thing, this plays in my Apple TV (latest model) but has no sound.
    I'm confused.

I tried but it won't let me even access the old Apple ID.  It won't recoginze its old password and will not let me make a new one. (The site tells me it has sent an email to let me change the password but the email does not come.)

  • HT2204 My husband and I have the same apple id. We would like to each have our own. He will keep the original one, but how do I get a new apple Id and keep all the things I have associated with the old apple id?

My husband and I use the same apple Id. We would like to each have our own apple id, but we do not want to lose all our information associated with the current id. One of us will keep the original. If one us creates a new apple id how will that affect the iPhone and iTunes?

That would be my suggestion.  Just keep using the common one for purchases in the stores.  Then each get another AppleID using a free gmail, AOL, hotmail, MS Live or whatever email account.
Delete your current iCloud account and login with the new AppleID, and logout of Messaging and then backin with the new AppleID.  Now you have a shared iTunes/App store account, but completely separate, independent iCloud and iMessage accounts.
You can still share calendars if you wish to, even across separate accounts - http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2690

  • How do you figure out what email an Iphone is synced to?

I got an Iphone from a friend and was trying to get all my stuff on it and it told me I first had to type in the email and password that was used to set it up, we have tried every possible email we can think of. Any way to figure it out?

Sounds like you have encountered Activation Lock, and you will have to enter your Friend's iCloud/Apple ID and Password in order to get past it:

  • How can I reset my iPad that is protected with my old Apple ID account, of which I no longer remember the password?

So I have an iPad 2 and I stopped using it for a couple of months and now I tried to hard reset it and got it to work but it says the iPad is connected through Find My Phone to my previous account and I can't seem to be able to solve the problem. I no longer have the receipt so it's hard to prove I am the owner. I bought it used but the owner didn't also have the receipt. I get that this is something difficult to solve but can someone give me a hand?!

If you were unable to convince a person that you are ther owner of the ID and ipad, then I doubt any computer system process will do it either.
Activation lock is meant as a theft detterent and cannot be bypassed, you own a very beautiful Brick.
