How do I filter by "comments" in iTunes 11?

I am trying to filter my library by the comments. In iTunes 10 I could use the "search library" function and filter by any combination of songs artists and comments. I cannot seem to do this in iTunes 11-- it's just letting me search on song, artist and a couple of other fields. What am I missing

Claudia,
Make sure that your Music is in Songs view, not Albums or Artists.
Also, make sure that the Comments field is visible.  If it is not, enable it by going to View > View Options.
If you do both the above, the search will include text that is in Comments.
BTW, note that in iTunes 11, unlike earlier versions, you do not see the search results until after you hit return.
Let us know if that does the trick.

can anyone tell me how I can search for comments in itunes 12.0.1.26?
    Thanks ZOETANZ

I was also looking for the old minimise button that used to sit in the top right corner of iTunes 11 - gone.
@Finnish, your instructions really helped - thanks.
I took some screenshots to show the instructions.
" the button is hidden on the pic of the album. When the mouse pointer is over that area appears."
Minimised miniplayer, to return to main window.
"when the player is minimized, you can get full sized again pressing the X"

I was suggesting you untick it.
    New search behaviour
    Old search behaviour
Thinking that the old behaviour might prove more fruitful.
If that doesn't help can you post a screenshot that shows what you're doing and why you think you're getting the wrong results?

  • How do I create track aliases in iTunes?

I have a huge playlist consisting of over 2000 tracks and sorted in a particular way (for which I use text in the Comment field). I wish to insert 'breaks' at quite a number of different points in this playlist, for which I have created a music "jingle" followed by half a minute of silence. This is 650k in size.
Now I do understand that a track can be added into a playlist any number of times. But unfortunately, to get it to sort into the correct places, I need to change the Comment field for each one.
I need about 200 of these jingles. I would really much rather create aliases of it. How do I create an alias, where the track is exactly the same, but one of the tags changes?

    christopher rigby1 wrote:
That's exactly what I was asking - I can't have a number of aliases for this track where the CONTENTS (i.e. audio) remain the same, but the TAGS can be different?
That is exactly what I was answering. You can't.
The comment gets written to the appropriate field of the ID3 tags, and thus will be the same if you have multiple entries for the same file. If you want to see how this works, edit the comment field in iTunes, and then look at the file in another program, such as Winamp. You will see your comment there. It is part of the file.
If you want different comments, you need different files.

  • How do you post a comment on the Apple Website for one of their products?

I was wanting to post a comment about the new Aqua UI and I was hoping that it would be a lot easier to post a comment on iTunes 7.0.1 and their was no luck. If anyone can give me a link to do that, that would be great. I origionally thought that I could do that here but then I realized that this is a place for questions, not comments.

wait...i dont know how. I thought it was the Posts and now I remembered that this is for help. Well, the question remains: how do you post a comment on the Apple Website about iTunes 7.0.1?

  • How do I get a receipt for iTunes purchases?

How do I get a receipt for iTunes purchases. I know I used to get them for purchasing apps, but I can't figure out how to get email notification of my iTunes purchases.

Receipts should be automatically mailed to you. There's nothing you need to do (or can do) other than confirm that your current email address is correct in your iTunes Store account and make sure no anti-spam filter is blocking emails from Apple. It sometimes can take a couple of days for a receipt to be sent.
You can always look up purchases by logging into your iTunes Store account and going to the Purchase History.
EDIT: Is there any way to speed up how quickly I getthr receipt though?
    No, sorry, there isn't.
    Regards.

  • How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)?

How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)? Currently each of us has our own iTunes account, so I've made an "all office" Apple ID. However, I can't seem to get two different accounts (my personal and the office) to work on my machine. Even when I login as "the office", my personal library is still showing. Additionally, when I try to setup with a first-time use in iTunes, I get an error that I don't meet the minimum age requirement - no matter what birthdate I enter!

The library exists regardless of which user is logged in.
The only way around that is to create different user accounts on the computer.
There is no way to have 20 unique iTunes users access a shared iTunes under a single login on the computer.

  • How can I transfer apps from one iTunes library to another?

How can I transfer apps from one iTunes library to another? My daughter has an iTouch, and I was managing it through my library. I have created an iTunes account for her, with a new iTouch, and would like to move the apps over. I tried to sync the old iTouch to the new library and it said it was already set up to sync with a different library. What is the best way to do this?

You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
To make the new computer the syncing computer you have to:
    - Transfer iTunes purchases lIke I described above
    - Make a backup of the iPod on that computer by connecting the iPod and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
    - Restore the iPOd from that backup
She will have to continue to use your iTunes ID to update the apps prchased with your account. To use her account she will have to log into the computer with her account (iTunes>Store) and change the sign in on the iPod by going to Settings>Store.

  • How can i remove a card from iTunes ?

How can i remove a card from iTunes ?

If you want to remove a credit/debit card from your account then on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iOS device then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
Changing payment info : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID)
If you don't get the 'none' option on the payment details screen : Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information?
