How do i FIND a word on a webpage in safari 7?
Since updating to ios 7, I can't figure out how to find a word on a webpage in Safari. In the older version, I could click on the Search box and search the webpage on the screen for a word or phrase. Surely this great feature that's been standard on all browsers for years is in the new Safari, and I just can't find it. Please help. TIA!
Click on the url bar and delete the url address. You can then type in what you are searching and it will be labeled "On This Page".

How do I find pass word to my old email address has now I cannot down load any apps because I have changed my email address
That's because apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be transferred to another iTunes account. You can contact iTunes support, explain the situation, and request they add these apps to the download queue of your new account:

How do you find the word count on MacBook, please?
How do you find the word count on MacBook, please?
If you are trying to find word count in a Microsoft Word 2011 documemt, for instance, open the document and go to the Tools menu, selecting Word Count. In Apple's Pages application, open the document and look at the bottom of the page, near the left it will say "X Words" where X is the number.
Best of luck. -
how do I find my word program on this macbook pro
I'm afraid you got ripped off - Microsoft doesn't sell Word as a stand-alone package, just as part of the MS Office bundle. And it's far more than $20 - anywhere from $99-199 usually.
If you need something right away to use as a text editor, you can always use the free TextEdit (in your Applications folder) or download LibreOffice - http://www.libreoffice.org/ - as mentioned above.

How do I find duplicate words in a Numbers spreadsheet?
Hello, I've created my first document on Numbers and am trying to figure out how to find duplicate words. Ideally, a list of words that repeat in the document and how many times. Is this possible? Thank you in advance for the advice
It's easy enough to find and count duplicate entries, especially if they are all in a single column, but if you want to count individual words within multi word entries, the problem is more complicated.
Here's an example for the 'simple' case, using a familiar 155 word passage from English literature.
The words in the passage are separated into a single line for each word, and stripped of all punctuation. This may be done in Pages, or in Text edit, or in pretty much any word processing software or text editor. Paste the passage into a WP or text document, then use the application's Find/Replace feature to replace all of the spaces with returns. I would also do a second pass replacing all double returns with single returns, then repeat that until Find/Replace reported replacing zero occurrences.
Punctuation was stripped using Find/Replace
The prepared list was pasted into column A of a Numbers table.
Formulas:
B2: =COUNTIF($A$1:A2,A2)
C2: =IF(AND(B>1,B=COUNTIF($A,A2)),ROW()-1,999999)
Fill both down their respective columns to the end of the table.
The small table is inserted as a Basic table using the Tables button. It contains a Header row, but no Header columns.
Formula:
A2: =IFERROR(OFFSET(Table 1 :: $A$1,SMALL(Table 1 :: $C,ROW()-1),COLUMN()-1),"")
Fill right into B2, then fill both down to the end of the table.
Descriptions of the functions used, along with their syntax and at least one example of their use in a table are available in the Numbers '09 User Guide, which may be downloaded via the Help menu in Numbers.
Regards,
Barry
PS: Regards to the late Mr. Shakespeare, and thank you for providing the text used. -

How do I find a word in all my document, return false if it's not in there.
Hi,
I struggle with something that should be easy, and didn't find any answer on this forum.
I have a list of word that I want to search in a 300 pages catalogue in InDesign. I'd like to know how can i:
1) Look for the word
2) Return true if it's in the document
3) Return false if it's not
FYI, the words i'm searching are product code, so if they're not in the catalogue, the product isn't in the catalogue.
Thanks a lot,
OlivierHi Oliver,
Use this,
var doc = app.documents;
app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "Text";
var foundtext = app.activeDocument.stories.everyItem().paragraphs.everyItem().findText();
for (var i=0;i<foundtext.length;i++){
if (foundtext[i].length != 0){
alert("True");
else{
alert("False")
app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing; -
How can I find the words which spans across end of line to next line in pdf ?
I am using Acrobat Adobe X Pro version for our form development and maintanence. I am writting a Acrobat JAVA batch script which reads through all the words and execute spell check and reports the mispelled words in a excel sheet. Since I am running this script in batch mode for more than 1000 pdfs - I am getting many words joined together. When I looked in to those pdfs all such words are looking okay because it is appearing in end of right margin and the next word is in the next line. Since there was no space between them it was extracted as a single word. Hence the failure.
I used wordf = this.getPageNthWordQuads(i,j) to get the word begin and end coordinates. when I closely observe the values are creating a rectangle and that doesnt span across lines. I got the coordinates for the regular word and the word which span acoross two lines. both of the coordinates are same.
I think I am screwed - I have 8000 such words and no clue of how to get rid of them from the actual misspelled words.
please help. let me know if any class /method if I call will give me the end of line or do I need to go to next layer to find this split.
the addnot is somehow marking the words using this coordinates - please hellp me understand how this works. Thanks.

ck=1If Acrobat is reading each word part as separate words, you have a problem.
The way I approached it in some of my tools was to check if a word ends
with a hyphen, and if so, to check if it's the last on the line. If both
conditions are true, combine with the next word on the next line. This is
not fool proof, of course, as there are documents with columns are other
structural elements that prevent this from working. Better than nothing,
though...
However, it is also possible that Acrobat does see both parts as parts of
the same word. In that case, getPageNthWordQuads() will return multiple
quads arrays. As you know, that method returns an array of quad arrays.
There's usually only one, but in principle there could be more... Something
to check before giving up. -
How can I find a word processor other than TextEdit?
I recently bought a word processing program called AbiWord for my imac. I just bought it cheap from the internet and thought it worth to try since I am writing a document that needs more than TexEdit can do.
Can anyone advice me on this as I'm not willing to buy a Microsoft Word for my imac.
What is the best and cheapest way to get a good word processor for imac OS 10.6.3 Snow Leopard ?
BergljotWell. to upgrade I don´t know as it´s such a time consumer but I´ve now got hold of OpenOffice and this program seems to be ok to do the tasks I´m looking for layout etcetera.
Thanks, Bergljot -
How do I get rid of an unwanted webpage in Safari on my iPad3?
Even after I clear history and cookies and data on my iPad the webpage "t.homedepot.com" keeps showing up in the minized screen of Safari. When I touch it to maximize the browser to full screen it disappears and the last page I was browsing reappears. How do I get rid of this so that Safari is showing the true page I was on? Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you.
try a reset:
Hold both the Home button and the Power button down for 10+ seconds until the Apple logo appears. Let go promptly when the Apple logo appears, and wait another 30 seconds for your iPad to turn itself on. No data will be lost.
let us know if it works.
there are other things you can try, but this is the simplest and easiest -
How do you take a snapshot of a webpage in Safari?
Is there any way to take a snapshot of a page you are viewing through Safari? Hot key maybe?
From the Mac Help menu in Finder:

Shortcut
Take a picture of the whole screen
⌘-Shift-3
Take a picture of part of the screen
⌘-Shift-4, then drag to select the area you want in the picture.
To cancel, press Escape.
Take a picture of a window, a menu, the menu bar, or the Dock.
Press ⌘-Shift-4, then press the Space bar. Move the pointer over the area you want so that it's highlighted, then click.
To drag to select the area instead, press the Space bar again. To cancel, press Escape.
Screen shots are saved as files on the desktop. If you want to put the screen shot in the Clipboard, rather than create a file, hold down the Control key when you press the other keys. You can then paste the picture into a document.
You can also take pictures of the screen using the Grab application (in the Utilities folder).
Some applications, such as DVD Player, may not let you take pictures of the screen. -

Then the keystroke to delete depends on which version of iPhoto you have. All the keyboard shortcuts are under the Help menu.
