How do I find folded greeting cards in Elements 10?

I'm using elements 10 but don't see any folded greeting cards, only flat.

Are you asking about video transitions like turning the pages of a photo book? Where are you seeing the 'flat' greeting cards?
[EDIT] Photoshop Elements has greeting card features including Folded. If that is what you are looking for you will get better advice from the Photoshop Elements  forum.

  • How to print 4-fold greeting cards?

I recently upgraded to iPhoto 6.0.5 with the intent of using it to print one-off greeting cards -- NOT necessarily ordering them from Apple.
Most greeting cards programs I've used in the past allow you to print a card on one-side of one sheet of paper, then fold it in 4, so that it fits nicely in a 4x6 envelope. Not so classy, but easy and fast.
For the life of me, I haven't figured out how to get iPhoto to print greeting cards like this. Is there something obvious that I am missing? Other hints for making quick and easy cards with little printing fuss? Thanks in advance...

I found some software that you can download called Easy Card that allows you to make your own cards or use there templates.
    http://www.scriptsoftware.com/ecc/
I just downloaded it myself as I was looking for a way to do it in Iphoto and as you found out there is no way to do it within Iphoto to print so you can do the four fold thing you talk about.
Anyways there software got good reviews and user reviews as well and I am still playing with it on the trial period right now!
I designed a Birthday/ St Patricks day invitation ( my 11 month old has his 1st birthday coming up on St Patricks day) and the easy card software works great in how it works with Iphoto and my clip art that I have. It has an OSX layout so I found using their controls pretty easy in order to get pictures and text and such into my card.
Check it out! It is a free download for trial and can be purchased for $30
I am just about to do it myself once I am satisfied with my first design!
I need to find more clip art though. Maybe they have more on there website once you purchase it!
Anyone know a good site to get clip art??

  • How do I print on the backside of a 5x7 folded greeting card?

I am trying to create a folded greeting card to print at home.  However, in creating a card and using the template, I cannot figure out how to put an image and text to print on the back of the greeting card.  The template does not allow me to add anything on the back.

I don't think it can be done with the supplied templates and when using the "Create Greeting Card" feature.
You can do it yourself by starting with a new image sized to the unfolded card, adding another page, and then adding your design elements to it.  You'll save it as a PSE project file, but then you'll have both sides that can be printed.

  • How can I get bi-fold greeting card to print?

I have Elements 9 and created a card in bi-fold format and cannot figure out how to get it to print in that format.  I have a Dell V715W printer.  Photoshop help is of no help.  I am trying to figure out if I need to print add a blank page to the front and print two pages to one sheet (front and back) or something else.  There don't seem to be many options when printing or edit options to the file/project/card within Elements 9.  Help!!

    Riley,
Finally got a reply of sorts from Tech. To sum it up, Adobe has a problem . . .
"We have verified this behavior. and we are checking with the engineering  group whether this is considered a bug or not. When creating one of the  folding greeting cards, these are templates designed to be printed by  Shutterfly. Because of this, the layout is meant for their printers to  work correctly. It is not optimized for local home printing.
.  Meanwhile,  you can either use the print service (shutterfly), use the  workaround of using the .PSD files, or to create the greeting cards  without using a shutterfly template.
As a work around, you can  save the greeting card project as a .PSE file (by clicking the Done  button and choosing to save). When you save a multi-page document in  PSE, you get a .PSE project file and a folder with the same name. In  that folder is a .PSD file for each page in the project. If the customer  opens and prints these they will get the expected behavior of two pages  (instead of three), but the front page will not automatically print on  the lower half of the page, that will have to be adjusted either in the  print dialog (recommended) or by manually increasing the canvas size in  the Editor. Duplex printing is not supported by Photoshop Elements, so  you will have to consult with your printer manufacturer for instructions  on how to best perform this."
So, the home printing - at least using their templates - doesn't work properly in Elements 9.
    Hope this helps.

  • Half Fold Greeting Cards

This post prompted me to finish a project that I've wanted for some time.
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b5e3e0
We produce a lot of greeting cards with a 10 year old version of Print Shop Deluxe (6.0). It works intuitively and flawlessly with three exceptions:
    1. It won't accept my HP 5650 printer's borderless 8.5x11 settings.
    2. It reduces the resolution of any photograph to around 100 ppi.
    3. Colors become somewhat washed out.
We've tried a later version which claims to print at higher resolutions but with little success.
Test prints from PE3 Editor on Staples matte white "photo quality" half fold greeting card stock with the printer set to "Other Photo Paper" proved to be excellent.
Over the last few days I've made and tested full size templates at 300 ppi that contain instructions to layout both wide and tall 8.5x11 borderless greeting cards. if necessary I reduce the resolution of the templates to match the photos down to about 200 ppi with no apparent degradation.
A lot of the design was forced by how the 5650 handles borderless printing. eg. The shaded area at the bottom of each page reflects what will be lost due to expansion. This also explains the illogical upside down graphics in the wide version. It's easier to control exact placement at the top of the page than after the fold. The crop size is 1/16th inch smaller than 5.5 inches to accommodate the fold.
I've also included the rulers that I used to determine exactly what the printer is doing.
I can now put together all 4 pages of either card almost as quickly as in Print Shop and the impact of a full borderless, high quality front is well worth the effort. They work for non-borderless projects, too.
    If anyone's interested (small jpgs):

    Gwen,
I open the appropriate pair of "templates" and then add graphics and text as additional layers following the orientation instructions. Since I'm mainly interested in successful borderless printing it's very important that the front picture be cropped from a separate file to the exact dimensions shown and match the 300 ppi resolution of the original template. If that's not possible from the original I resize the template to match the picture's resolution but maintain the original template dimensions. When all 4 card surfaces are complete I print the front/back then re-insert the card as instructed on the template and print the inside. (The print procedure is for a bottom front load printer. I don't know if top loaders are the same.)
For this to work for you (and you can't print 8.5x11 borderless) you'll need to determine the maximum print size of your printer and create a template to match. eg. If the printer can only print with 1/4 in margins all around change the overall size to 8x10.5 inches and crop the picture to 8x5 inches and place it 1/4 inch from the fold. Takes a lot of draft mode testing to get it right.
From what you say if Print Shop would accurately place your graphics you would be happy with the results so let's look at that.
In our version under the File there is a "Precision Print Alignment" option. Do you have that and have you run it?
What kind of printer do you have and what kind of paper size set-up is selected before you open Print Shop? That seems to make a difference in 6.0.
FWIW all borders in all projects are perfectly evenly spaced in our version.
    Bob

How do I find folder contents which were accidentally deleted?

They would be in your Trash. Unless you have emptied your trash since then, in which case you'd need to use a file recovery tool such as Data Rescue.
Of course, if you use Time Machine for backups, you can easily retrieve the file from TM.

  • Printing greeting cards on elements 9

I cannot succssfully print a greeting card on elements 9.  I have finally arrived at the conculsion that duplex printing is not possible.  So I have been trying to print without the duplex feature enabled.  The problem is when the page prints out the picture takes up the whole page - how do I shrink it to make it look like a greeting  card?

Using one of the guides under, "Create?" I don't think those were done with duplex printing in mind (at least when doing home projects).
Could be a printer driver issue in regards to it printing too big. Can you preview before you print? Are the settings correct?

  • How do I find the total number of elements in a multi dim array

How do I find the total number of elements in a single or multi dim array?
For example, a 2x3 array has 6 elements, and a 2x3x4 has 24. How do I compute this very easily - is there a single VI that does this?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Use "array size" (array palette) followed by "multiply array elements" (numeric palette)
(Works also equally well for 3D arrays and higher)
For a 1D array, just use "array size".

  • How can I set up the printer for a custom size A7 OR 10X7 FOLDED GREETING CARD SIZE?

My new HP 7610 wide format printer does not have a "custom" paper size selection area. A 5x7 folded (open:10x7) greeting card is surely the most popular greeting card size but is NOT included in the printers size selection area- so - what to do?

I understand that the paper size is supported but not while printing from Windows:

  • How to create greeting cards  in elements 7

I need to know how to create greeting cards that would fit with this layout I attached this one below. I am new to this so learning how this works.
    Thanks for your help
    vicki

This site has a few greeting card tutorials
    http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cardshop/tuts1/index.htm.
I have also used their greeting cards and envelopes and have always been satisfied with their products.
    I don't know exactly what size your photo is but what I do is;
make a new document the size of the photo plus 1/4-inch all around for a border.  Double this if the card is a half-fold card.
I add a new layer and use the pencil tool mark where to divide the card in half (where I will fold the card), and to mark the 1/4 inch border on the front.  I use the grid (View>Grid).  I make any more marks I might need.  Just remember to keep it all on a new layer and turn it off before you print.  Very annoying to print your card and see your markings!!
Since I want them to fit in an envelope, I use whatever size I need to fit and make the images fit the card.
I hope this has been of some help to you.  I really enjoy making cards!

  • HT204364 How do I make different greeting cards and send them to the same address in a bulk - not having to pay $3.99 shipping for each card

In Iphoto, I would like to produce a bunch of greeting cards with different pics for different people and I would like all these cards to be sent to my home address in one shipment.
The way I understand it, I can only prodce one card and order multiple copies of the same card.
I am looking for a way not to spend $0.99 + $3.99 (shipping)....
    Can this be done?
Or is there an app that allows that?
Or how can I save each card and have them printed somewhere else?
    Thanks!

Not really because the format is an odd size and when you save it as a pdf file there's a white border around the card.
There are 2 tutorials on how to print them yourself if you have a 3rd party image editor that supports layers or Pages from iWork: iP06 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card and iP07 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card to Standard Stock Sizes.  Apple has made it difficult to print them borderless unless the card color is the same as the card stock.
