How do I find/load more standard camera profiles than "Adobe Standard"

I have reloaded Lightroom 3.3 several times.  Still the only camera profile I have available is Adobe Standard.  I would like to have access to profiles like Camera Standard and Camera Vivid.  How can I load and/or get these to show up?

generic and profiles are two words that just can't go to together, a complete oxymoron I am afraid. Profiles are specific to a device that has been profiled, in this case the colour reproduction of a camera sensor. Adobe profiles every camera it supports, this is the profile called Adobe Standard for you camera. On some cameras Adobe also produce other calibrations, these often mirror the names used by the camera manufacturers to describe their own profiles. Most camera manufacturers do not actually produce more than one profile themselves, instead they produce a choice of different colour interpretations that can be applied only to the in camera jpgs. In these case Adobe don't usually produce anything other than the Adobe Standard.
You can, of course, make your own calibration profiles specific to your actual cameras sensor (sensors themselves varies so even the profiles supplied by the manufacturers and Adobe may not actually match your sensor. The tools and instructions on how to do this are supplied free by Adobe here.
If your camera has profiles other than the stand,  it will be located
On Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
On Windows 2000 / XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Support\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
On Windows Vista/7:  C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

    -  PLANS

See if you guys can do something more about it.

They sometimes have that information on the label. Otherwise, it's trial and error. The model you have is a Late 2009 13" MacBook. It came with a special version of 10.6.1 pre-installed.

How do I down load pictures from Camera Roll on my iPhone to my Mac Pro that were taken prior to iCloud?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. This was the same prior to photo streaming with iCloud and remains the same since.
With a Mac, you can use iPhoto for the import which also supports iCloud photo streaming, or the Image Capture application.

  • Can't see a nikon d800 camera profile in adobe camera raw 8.2

    Hello,
I can't see a nikon d800 camera profile in adobe camera raw 8.2
When I open a NEF file from D800, I can see in upper left corner "Camera Raw 8.2 - Nikon D800", but when I open  "camera calibration" and click "camera profile", I can only see "Adobe standard, camera landscape, camera neutral, camera vivid" etc., but there is no "Nikon d800 profie
I copied .dpx files with that profile to:   C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles     ,but nothing happened.
Strange thing is that when I open a NEF file from old Nikon D80, in "camera profile" appears: "camera D2X mode1", "camera D2X mode2", "camera D2X mode3". Any ideas?

The profiles that you see listed are the profiles for the camera that took the photo.  You will not see the camera model listed.  Those are the profiles Adobe created for the camera that took the image.  You cannot change profiles to those of a different camera.
Apparently older Nikon cameras had the profiles you see listed for your D80.  I have those same profiles of as part of my D90 choices.  But, again apparently, those profiles are not part of newer cameras.  I wouldn't know, because I'm still using a D90.

  • How do I find which WIFI standard my Airport device supports?

My 27" Mac Is about 3 yards old, My new router uses the N standard. How can I find out whether or not my AirPort Extreme supports this standard?
(I know there is backwards compatibility but it's performance issues that I 'm concerned about)
    Thanks in advance

Just discovered the info. Can be found by going into 'About this Mac' then 'More info /Network/Airport". Would have thought it should be also found in 'System Preferences'!!

  • I cannot load more photos onto my iPad as I'm being told there is not enough storage. I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud so how can I now load more photos onto my iPad. Surely there is enough space!  Do I need to delete previous photos?

I cannot load more photos onto my iPad even though I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud. As I am on holidays and taking loads of photos I thought  a good plan was to load them onto my iPad and then regularly back them up to iCloud. If I do this, do I then delete those photos from the iPad that I have backed up to iCloud and if I delete them from the iPad are they gone forever or can I somehow get them back from iCloud? I'm only new at all of this so I hope someone can assist me. I'd hate to lose all of my photos(I know they are still on my memory stick) but I would like to have them safe and secure and able to retrieved whenever I wish.

You can enable Photo Stream (in Settings > iCloud) but only for 30 days and only a max of 1000 photos.
Then what does this mean? It was copied from the kb article that I posted above.
Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
    Tap iCloud.
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
In the Backups section, tap your device.
In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage.

  • How do I find out if my camera is compatible with iphoto?

I don't really know much about cameras or iphoto so I need to find out if my camera is compatible with iphoto. It's a panasonic that is a few years old. Where do I go to find this out?

    skittlesdrummer219
    Here's a non-complete list
    http://www.appleclub.com.hk/iphoto/compatibility/camera.html
which mentions no Panasonics at all. However, I'm in the process of buying one because even if the camera won't directly connect with iPhoto, I can use a USB card reader - which I actually prefer - to load the pics into iPhoto.
    Two things to try:
    1. Connect your Camera to your Mac and switch the camera on. Does iPhoto Launch? Does the Camera show up as a disk on the desktop?
    2. Take the card from the camera and pop it into a Card reader attached to your Mac. Does it show on the desktop as a disk?
IF your Mac can see the Camera Card in either scenario, you can use it with iPhoto.

  • Where/how to obtain camera profiles for Adobe Camera Raw 7.3?

Where can you get camera profiles for ACR?  And how do you load them into ACR?  Is the Sony A77 on that list?  Need help on this one.  Thanks.

Adobe Standard is the only camera profile available for your camera, then, if that’s all you see.
Adobe only makes the so-called “camera-match” profiles, with names like Camera Standard, Camera Portrait, Camera Faithful, etc, for Canon and Nikon and a select few others.  I suspect there is a lot of work involved in these and they don’t do it for cameras they see as less popular or less used.
They wouldn’t be the same as the Camera-Match profiles from Adobe but you can create your own proilfes with an X-Rite 24-patch ColorChecker Classic and the Adobe DNG Profile Editor or using the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport package:

  • How do i get back all the camera profiles?

After I upgraded from LR 4 to LR 5, I lost all my custom camera profiles for my Nikon D800.
Any idea how can i get them back?
I am using a Mac by the way.

Where did you store your custom camera profiles?
If you mixed them in with the Adobe profiles, then at some point in the past, LR started to ignore camera profiles that were mixed in with Adobe profiles.  To have those profiles seen you needed to have moved them from the Adobe folder to the Users folder that Jim shows in the reply above this one.
The profiles may still be in your LR 4 Resources folder if that folder still exists and if so then move them to where Jim indicates and they should be seen again.
If the files are no longer in the LR 4 location then they may be gone, and need to be recreated from the ColorChecker DNGs.  Hopefully you still have those.

  • How do I re-load/install my free version of Adobe Acrobat?

I currently have an Adobe Acrobat Product Version 8 and have an account with Adobe.  How do I re-load/install my free Adobe Acrobat product again?

    Hi kurtm66064664,
Are you referring to the free Adobe Reader (which doesn't offer the PDF editing capabilities that Adobe Acrobat does)? If so, you can download Reader from here: Adobe Reader Install for all versions.
If you wanted to try Acrobat XI, you can download a free 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
