How do i find lost contacts after i installed ios5 through my macbook pro?

I upgraded my iphone by syncing through my MacBook Pro. When it finished all the messages and original contacts as well as games and software were deleted. It even took away my wallpaper which was a picture of my grandson. I am really upset!

Did you perform the update on the computer you normally sync to? Did you get any errors during the process? Did you wait for the restore to complete after updating? Were your apps in the iTunes library BEFORE you started the update? Were you syncing your contacts to a compatible address book or cloud service?
We need more information to even begin to guess what happened.

They would be in whatever supported contact application you selected to sync contacts with on the Info Pane in iTunes...Outlook, Windows Address Book.

How do I find and open the Cd folder on a 13" macbook pro , so I can read the content on the cd with pages.

If the CD is not showing on the desktop, go to Finder on the menu bar, Preferences, General and check the box for CDs, DVDs,and iPods.  Then double click the image of the CD on the desktop to open and display the contents of the CD.

  • After Yosemite install, sound button on MacBook Pro doesn't work-stuck at full volume or Mute. Can't adjust slider in preferences, or use volume button on keyboard.

Just installed Yosemite on my MacBook Pro 15", Retina display, early 2013 build. After installation, I cannot adjust volume for speakers. It is either completely off (muted) or on a FULL VOLUME. Neither the speaker volume buttons on the keyboard or the Sound Output slider on the Systems Preferences works. The slider does not move from full volume and the speaker buttons do nothing. This is just awful--can't get any sound except at full volume which is ear-splitting.

Talked to Apple Support. The support person took a bit, but figured out that Yosemite changes the sound output default to the installed HDMI display speakers--and the Mac does not control those speakers. This recurs every time there's a restart. The Solution is to go to System Prefs>Sound and change the OUTPUT device to the Internal Speakers on the Mac. Then sound controls work perfectly. This has to be done every time the system restarts, at least until Apple sends out a fix for this bug.
If you have an external device attached with speakers, apparently the Mac wants to make that default output device. Note that in my system on the list of output devices, the Internal Speakers are the first in the list...that generally is the "default" output device--but Yosemite doesn't recognize that and makes the HDMI device default output.
Not perfect, but now that I know the fix, I can live with it until there's a permanent fix from Apple.

  • How to download and reinstall iPhoto after accidentally uninstalled it from my MacBook Pro

    Hi there,
Recently I bought MacBook Pro. After I bought it I accidentally uninstalled iPhoto and GarageBand from it. But, I really would like to get them back. Please, give me suggestion how to do.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mohiuddin Ahmed.

    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer - if it came with CDs and you do not know where they are then contact Apple to see if they can be replaced
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

  • How can I find out the original UK price of an older MacBook Pro*

I need to find out the original UK cost of a specific older model macbook pro. This is because I had mine stolen the other day and the insurance company are going to give me a percentage of the original cost. As I bought mine used I don't know the original price, but I don't want to get short changed! by my insurance company.
Any help would be greatly apreciated,

well, you can go go everymac.com - click on year - then select the year you macbook pro was - from there - click on the model that corresponds to the one you lost - go all the way to the bottom to see the original selling price and convert it to your currently.
see example on the image below for me 2010 Macbook Air.

  • How do I find lost photos after Image Capture failed to import them to iPhoto?

im having this problem exactly .... http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20101215095521610
i chose to delete after import, like a wise guy, thinking nothing was going to happen and now my photos are not in my iPhoto libary... ive gone through all my images and i cant find them...
i used image capture to put all my photos into iphoto from my iphone 4 before i bought my 4S and i didnt back anything up, thinking i was fine...
when i went to iphoto they werent there, so i tried to quit iphoto and, as i did, it said my library was updating about 300+ photos, so i was like 'oh all i needed to do was restart iphoto'... but it was still a no-go, they still werent there...
i restarted my computer, looked at other peoples answers, and i just cant find them in any folder or anywhere....... and i cant find the folder from the link i posted... very tired and fustrated. i need help please : (

    I don't think it can be done from within iPhoto but there's a way you can do it from outside. First download and launch QPict. Then do the following;
1 - open your iPhoto Library folder and type Command-F.
2 - in the search window create these two search criteria:
    a - Kind is Folder
    b - Name contains Original
3 - In the search results window click on the size column to separate the empty folders from those with files in them.
4 - select all of the folder that are not empty and drag into the open window of QPict.
That will open the original files in QPict so you can view them there and compare to those in iPhoto. Just remember do not move any of those folders out of the iPhoto Library folder. Just move them into the open window of QPict.

  • How do I get my contacts from my Cingular RAZR to my MacBook Pro?

I did a quick search of the forum and did not find an answer to this specific question. I just switched over to Mac after being a long time PC user. Read many of the threads dealing with pairing the RAZR via bluetooth. I had no problem pairing my phone, however, I am not able to get all the existing contacts in my phone's address book onto my computer. Rather, it only seems that I can get the contacts in my Mac's address book onto my phone.
Is there a way to get existing phone numbers on my RAZR over to the address book on my MBP? I have a ton of numbers on my phone and want to back them up on my MBP. Entering them in by hand seems to defeat the whole purpose of syncing. Thanks in advance.

Did that originally and all it did was merge the data from my computer/phone on my phone. It did not put the numbers from my phone onto my computer.

  • Camera not working after Yosemite Install 10.10.1 Macbook Pro early 2008

After installing Yosemite the camera does not work or even show up in system report. It appears not to be recognized at all by the OS. I have tried all of the suggested reset processes but no change. Any ideas?

    dannfort wrote: ... OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)...
Your OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) is not the latest version.
Even if you have already updated to 10.10.2 by a different method, do the following:
    • Restart Mac, repair disk permissions, then download and install OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update.
    • Repair permissions again following the restart that completes the Combo Update.  Then try your camera again.
