How do I find my "FAVORITES" since I switched from Internet Explorer?

It appeared as though they were transferred during the transition from Internet Explorer to Firefox but I can't locate them.

If you did not have Firefox before your bookmarks would be from Internet Explorer, if you chose IE.
It should have put what was in your bookmark toolbar in IE into your folder "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''" which you can see in the bookmarks sidebar ("Ctrl+B") as one of three major folders -- "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''", "'''Bookmarks Menu'''", and "'''Unsorted Bookmarks'''". You will probably find your favorites separated into each of those three folders.
'''To make the Bookmarks Toolbar visible''' on your toolbars use
#"Alt" key to display toolbars temporarily (as in IE)
# View > Toolbars > (checkmark) Bookmarks Toolbar
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6)]. -- Picture of [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/icons/fx4toolbars.png before/after] changes.

  • Since I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox, the Celeb Daily link I've always visted will no longer show the images / pictures. Cannot figure out why.

Celeb Daily is a celeb picture site that you can vote a rating of 12 different pics "daily". Since switching from Int. Exp. to Firefox they no longer come up, only texts & boxes. What gives? I am far from computer savvy. Don't go all technical on me if it's fixable. Thanx.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • I have followed "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer" but although I've worked through the dtages and it says it has worked, the expected internet explorer folder does not appear in bookmarks

I have installed Firefox today, and like the look of and the speed. But I have an extensive set of foldersin my IE Favorites and remebered passwords I don't want to have to reimput.
I have now tried twice folowing "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer " which seemed to go smoothly, once with IE open and the other with it closed, and closed down my PC between each attempted installation. Any ideas?

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox about 2 hours ago, and want to recover my previous "Favorites" bookmarks. How?

Until two hours ago, we had a list of "Favorite" bookmarks that were lost after making Firefox our browser. How can I restore those items?

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
*Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser

  • How can I import all my favorites (including folders within) from internet explorer?

In internet explorer my favorites are organised into folders but when I try to import these into firefox only the files that aren't in folders comes across, in this case 1.

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites and the favorites won't end up in a "From Internet Explorer" folder, but will be appended at the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • How can I delete a duplicated import of bookmarks from Internet Explorer.

Somehow I imported my IE Favorites to Firefox twice. The one 'From Internet Explorer' folder contains all the IE sub-folders but does not show any individual Bookmarks contained in them. How can I delete this 'From Internet Explorer' folder and its contents. The 'delete' and the 'cut' functions do not work. The other import from IE works fine.

Open the Photos app; open an album or camera roll or wherver you want to delete photos from. Tap the arrow at top right. Selct the photos you want to delete by tapping them, then tap the delete button

  • Apple tv can't find my photos since I switched from iPhoto to Photos

I recently switched from iPhoto to Photos on my imac which is running Yosemite 10.10.6. and since then my Apple TV version 2 can't find my photos.  Also, the taskbar on Photos is nothing like they show in the description.

  • I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox and was so happy. Then I took the prompt and converted to Firefox 4.0 and now my computer is so slow it is almost unbearable. How do I switch back to Firefox 3 or some earlier version to get my speed back?

It takes a long time for the computer to warm up and start working, maybe 30 seconds. Just to open an email can take 10 seconds. This is the kind of delay I was experiencing on Internet Explorer before I switched to Firefox 3. It is particularly slow if I am opening a photo attachment. It also can be slow just moving from one tab to another. Help!

    Credit Tony E:
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. See https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use
    your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of
installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

  • When switching from Internet Explorer toFirefox will all of my favorites be transferred over?

I have websites that are saved on my favorites bar should I copy them or will they transfer?

You have to manually import it from IE to Firefox. In Firefox:
    File > Import
and then choose IE and import your favorites. FYI, In Firefox, it's called Bookmarks and not Favorites.

  • I have followed instructions for importing favorites from Internet Explorer, but they do not show up in Bookmarks menu as shown in the support instructions.

I just downloaded Firefox 3.6 and followed the instructions for importing Favorites from Internet Explorer. Firefox said the import was successful, but the Favorites do not appear at the bottom of the Bookmarks menu (below "Mozilla Firefox") as shown in the Support instructions. Where can I access my Favorites?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).<br />
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
