How do I find out about iPhoto sales and promotions?

I randomly happened to print a book in iPhoto about a month ago, and it told me that there was free shipping due to the Mother's Day holiday.  How can I find out when these sales or promotions are happening so that I could do this on purpose?  (You'd think that it would be easy to find a way to sign up for spam like this, but I've looked for an hour and can't find any indication that Apple wants me to know about their sales.)

Haven't seen any such promotions in years and there is no such email address ever mentioned here. There is a link to contact Apple at the bottom of every page, on the right, perhaps someone there can help.

    Hey,
What I would recommend doing is contacting the local Apple Store in your area. All Apple Retail Stores have specialized business teams that hold free workshops on using the iPad for business and have lots of knowledge about business applications/uses. Give your local store a call and ask for the business team!
    Hope this helps =)

  • How do you find out about Kernel panics?

Can anyone please explain to me how does one find out about Kernel panics, where to look etc? Thanks and regards

When the operating system kernel, one of the most basic, foundational levels of the Mac OS X operating sytem, detects some kind of exceptional condition or internal corruption or when the hardware sends it a signal of some grave error, which can be a bug in the system software or a driver or can be a hardware problem and the situation is not one that can be dealt with and continuing operation is impossible, then the kernel "panics." It does it's best to shut down gracefully, but it's an abortive termination of all system activity, after which a reboot usually takes place (though you're notified and must intervene before that happens).
It is a serious error and should not occur, but computer technology, both hardware and software, being what they are, there's no way to absolutely guarantee they won't happen. Unix-based systems such as Mac OS X have pretty good reliability, especially since Apple controls both the hardware and software. Still, 3rd-party software can be incorporated into a system, and Apple does not control or certify that code, so there's ample opportunity for poorly written add-ons (especially hardware drivers) to cause problems.

  • My mac book pro has got 41 GB of other stuff on it clogging it up how do I find out what is rubbish and delete it

my mac book pro has got 41 GB of other stuff on it clogging it up how do I find out what is rubbish and delete it. To free up some memory. I can't believe I have filled it up intentionally.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
If you're using Time Machine to back up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of files you've recently deleted. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning your files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • How do you find out if the transmitter and/or receiver leaves the session ?

So , how do you find out if the transmitter and/or a receiver leaves the session , is there an event when this happens ?

    1. There is no list available from your end.
    2. You can't actually check. If you suspect a device has been, deauthorize it twice and then authorize it.

How do i find out what teachers editions and resources are available to compliment etextbooks?
I'm researching the possibility of using iPads for our school but I need to make sure that we can get the appropriate teacher resources to go along with the textbooks. Where can I find these?

I would contact the publisher of the textbook directly.  Apple is just a store, not a publisher.

  • How can I find out the overall time and not only the time of a single clip?

I have set up two cameras in one room. Both cameras record the same thing from different perspectives at the same time. I have found an interesting scene for video 1 (recorded by camera 1). Now I would like to find the time at which the interesting scene takes place in video 2.
However, I have not seen any way to get displayed, at what time the scene starts in relation to the total length of the video (e.g: scene starts after 5 minutes from total 10 minutes).
The indicated time refers only to a part of the clip and not to the overall project, even if a special clip is not selected. Does anyone know, how I can find out the time?

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup.  It will be shown just below the Back Up Now button at the bottom.

  • HT204120 Iphone shows 96 photos, sync memory show 1130 photos how do I find out what they are and get rid of them

iphone shows 96 photos, how do i find what is using my memory for photos and get rid of them

You're looking in the wrong place.  The "96 photos" are in iPhoto on your Mac and are being synced to your phone.  This doesn't include all those taken on the phone.
To see the total number of photos on your phone:
    Settings > General > About > Photos >
To see how much memory photos are using:
    Settings > General > Usage > Storage > Manage Storage >Photos & Camera
    To select what to delete:
For photos taken on the phone:  Photos > select photo you want to delete > trashcan on bottom.  Note that deleted photos are stored in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days.  To delete them immediately, select them again from that album > delete or select Delete All
For photos synced to your phone from your computer, deselect them in iTunes and sync again.  They can't be deleted directly on the phone.
