i want to update my phone, but i purchased many apps and music on the phone. it won't let me authorize my computer so i cannot update. i don't want to deauthorize all my computers. how can i find out which 5 computers i have authorized? also how can i update the software?

This is a tedious solution, which is stupid!  And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization.  I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

  • HT1975 how can i find my lost iphone if i have the fi d my phone app but my location service is off

how can i find my lost iphone if i have the finf my phone app but my location service is turned off

    - Go to icloud.com, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and send the iPhone a message of where you can be reached.
Otherwise, the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPad and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPad (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

  • How do I find out EXACTLY what URL/URI a plugin is using and what the format is?

I just want the above info to help me debug a rather complex problem, details of which below.
I cant work out how to make BBC iPlayer (which i think is based on Adobe Flash) drive my sound card, which requires ASIO to work bit-perfect.
NB I really need it to work on my XP Pro sp3 machine connected to my hifi so a windows 7 only solution is not ideal, though I would upgrade if it's the only way.
    many thanks
    John

    Probably off topic but:
BBC iPlayer uses FlashPlayer for live video streams and Radio streams. It also has options for Windows Media downloads and playback of video, and has options for some mp3 radio downloads and Windows streams of radio are also available.
Your location bar will show the url being used
If you use iPlayer Desktop that uses flash and Adobe Air.
Note there is a BBC [http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbiplayer/ messageboard ]
and a [http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/ help & faq] section with some url s [http://faq.external.bbc.co.uk/questions/radio/online_radiohowto here]

  • How Do I Find Out What Generation Extreme I Have and Then What?

I just "inherited" an Airport Extreme and I want to try it in my new place to see if it provides better performance than the cheezy G class WIFI built in to the router from my ISP.
I have the hardware but no documentation or software.  It was years ago that I set this thing up the first time.
On the back I see the Model number is A1143
At the risk of looking really stupid what do I do now?
I can can plug in the power and the ethernet from the modem.  Now ...
Do I need to update firmware?
What Drivers / software do I need?
Where will I find the "how to" steps I need to make the Extreme my WIFI router?
    Bla Bla Bla
Any and all advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

You have a 2nd Generation AirPort Extreme
At the risk of looking really stupid what do I do now?
You might want to download the setup manual. http://support.apple.com/manuals/#airport
What Drivers / software do I need?
You need AirPort Utility 5.5.3 to configure the AirPort Extreme.  http://support.apple.com/downloads/#airport
Do I need to update firmware?
AirPort Utility will prompt you if a firmware update is available
Where will I find the "how to" steps I need to make the Extreme my WIFI router?
Click "Continue" when you open AirPort Utility to start the step by step guided setup.

  • How do I find out which operating system I have?

I've only recently purchased my 15" MacBook Pro (version 10.6.8) and I am unsure on how to establish which operating system I have.  Is it Leopard, Tiger, Lion??

Thanks!  I had already found the pull down menu with my version but, wasn't sure which "Cat" I had.  Turns out (from further investigation on the Apple site) that I have the latest Snow Leopard.  Thanks for the quick reply tho!  =)
