How do I find out for sure exactly which camera I have it is not on your list?  HELP!

My specification sheet with my Sony camera HDR-XR160 says system NTSC color, EIA standards HDTV 1080/60i, 1080/60p.  You say it is very important to pick the right information first before you get started.  I guessed and now the video stops and I have to play with it to make it get started going again.  I could guess again but that is too much work to keep guessing. I would like to know for sure.   Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you want to edit the video from that camcorder in Premiere Elements, you should only shoot your video in 1080/60i. (If you have more than one audio option, select stereo.)
Then, when you start your Premiere Elements project, select the project settings for Full AVCHD 1920x1080 30 fps.
Assuming your system is powerful enough to work with full AVCHD (which takes a lot of power!), you should have no problems editing this video in version 10.

  • My bank's system upgrade tells me that my Mac is a public computer.  I know it's not but how do I find out for sure?

I purchased myMac for private, personal use.    However, my bank's system upgrade says my Mac is a public computer and as such will now allow me to access any of my account information.   The passcode that the bank gave to me will not work with a public computer.   How can I make sure that my computer is still a private computer and not a public one?   If it has become public, since the bank system upgrade, how dp I get it back to being a private computer for my use only?    HELP PLEASE!

When most bank sites ask whether or not your computer is public or private, it is usually for you to understand that if you are on a public computer...like a library...to not have the computer remember your personal password and also to remind you to log out.  If you are the only one that uses this computer, it is private.

  • I think I bought a fake or counterfeit version of Photoshop CS6 extended.  How do I find out for sure.

i am using windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv6-6108.   I purchased Photoshop CS6 extended.  The guy said it is a full Retail version and "self installs" the serial number and activates.  It doesn't fully install into my control panel programs, instead it puts 2 icons on the desk top for Photoshop, but they have a "install shield" on them.  I can't update (the update and register features are grayed out.under the help menu.  The program opens, but everytime it does, it brings up the window asking if you want to let this program make changes on the computer.  Supposedly the serial number that auto-loads is inscribed on the inner ring of the disk, but you can't really tell what they are.  So I have no way to know what it is.  Lots of other odd ball stuff that makes me doubt the genuineness of the product.  What can I do to establish real or fake? And to get it registered like my other Adobe products.

That's the dead giveaway. It's counterfeit.

I have a MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 operating system.  I think it's Leopard but the support on Apple seems to show it as Snow Leopard.  How can I determine what it is.  I am considering updating to Snow Lion so I can use iCloud on this to link with my iPhone and iPad.

    Hi, the various cats are:
    Mountain Lion - 10.8
    Lion - 10.7
    Snow Leopard - 10.6

So I finally burned a DVD out of a Apple Pro Res file into iDVD in PAL format. My question now is how can I find out what the exact burn properties were so that I can apply the same burn properties to a project in Compressor 4?
Is it possible to see what iDVD did?

I don't know any way you can interrogate iDVD to reveal settings to the extent that you can in a Compressor project. What you could do is open up the show's VOB in MPEG STreamclip, go to File and Reveal Stream Information; that will at least give you some rudimentary info like average bit rate. Perhaps someone, with more iDVD experience, can chime in here.
The broader question is why use Compressor at all if your current workflow is doing the job to your satisfaction?
The value of Compressor is that it gives you control over the many parameters that affect size quality.  and playability. The Compressor presets can give you a starting point for DVD delivery, Web, etc. From those presets, people typically experiment by adjusting the parameters until they get the desired results for their specific show. It's a little bit science and a little bit art. After experimenting, you may be able to get slightly better quality for the project you've successfully burned in iDVD by using Compressor and something likeToast…or maybe not.
    Good luck.

A wet phone is out of warranty. This is considered user damage. Even if you were able to get it to start now, the chances of it working for long are slim. I suggest going to Apple and see about an OOW replacement. One for the iPhone 4 is only $149USD and it would come with a short warranty. It is a refurbished device and you would not be worried about encountering additional problems.

  • How do I find out the date in which I registered my imac?

How do I find out the date in which I registered my imac?

It doens't really matter what date you registered it. However if you are looking to see when your expiration on AppleCare is/was it is 3 years from the original date of purchase. You can use the Apple Online Service Assistant afer you input the serial number click the link that says See your service and support coverage.

  • How do I find out the volume of the documents I have saved on my Macbook?

I need to know the complete volume of my documents so that can arrage enough room in my external hard drive to save them prior to a full cleaning of my Macbook?

If you plan to back up your entire user folder, which should be where all that stuff is kept, then just select the user folder and use File -> Get Info. It will take some time to calculate the size. If you don't plan on doing that, and plan to back up those specific things piecemeal, then just look at the size of each and add it all up. Note, though, that hard drives of different sizes have different block sizes, so the size you calculate may not be accurate for the drive you plan on backing up to. For example, a folder full of lots of small files that takes up a total of 1 MB of space could take a lot more or less space on a different drive.
Also, note that a single backup is not really adequate. After you erase the hard drive, you'll only have one copy of all your data, with no backups, leaving you in an extremely vulnerable state until you restore. Many people lose all their data because their backups are screwed up somehow and they don't find out until they erase everything. Make sure to make a minimum of two backups, on two completely separate hard drives.
Finally, regarding the "Macs are easy to hack" comment... that depends. If you have someone malicious who has had unsupervised physical access to your Mac, then you can't be sure of anything. In such a case, wiping the hard drive is the only possible response. After reinstalling, make sure to use FileVault, with a strong password, to encrypt your hard drive, preventing anyone with physical access from being able to modify your system, and be extremely selective about what you restore from your backups.
However, there's no known malware at this time capable of getting past the security built into Mac OS X, unless you help it out by disabling Gatekeeper or installing Java and giving it free reign in your browser. So if you're thinking you got infected with some kind of malware, that's not likely. It's also extremely unlikely, unless you have done something to compromise the security of your Mac, that you have been hacked remotely.

  • TS2771 how do I find out what generation of Apple Itouch I have

I don't know if I have a 2nd or 3rd generation Itouch.  How do I find that out?  I know where to go to find what operating system I have.

    See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • How do I find out if my iphone is locked to a network or not?

I have an iphone 5 which is on 3network, I need to find out if it is locked to that network or not, I would like it to be opened up to any network as I am going abroad next month and would like to put a local SIM card in while I am away

Put a different carrier's SIM into it and see if it works.  Or you could even ask the carrier to which you think it might be locked.
