How do I find out how IMAQ pattern match works inside?

I need detailed info on the internal workings of the IMAQ pattern match vis (L7.1).
I don't need source code as such (although that would be cool). I just
need a desription of the algortihm. The manual is not detailed enough.
I need to be able to explain my program rigourously for a scientific
paper so I have to find this out. Any help much appreciated..

Hello
If you want more information about the pattern matching algorithms, look at the IMAQ Vision Concepts Manual which can be found at the link below.
http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/49110D7DB7FD282E86256EE70014816F
If you look at Chapter 12 this discusses the way in which the pattern matching is performed. This is probably the most detailed information we will be able to give out to you. Let me know if this isn't what you need and I'll see what I can find.

  • How is itunes match working for yall?

how is itunes match working fr yall?

I'm using Match with my work computer, my home computer and our AppleTV.
Match works well with the ATV.  I can now listen to nearly all of my libary without having a computer turned on and running iTunes.
Overall My experience has been an 8 out of 10.     Dissapointing. I have come to expect Apple to deliver a consistant 10.   If you haven't purchased match yet, I recommend you wait a few months.
All of my music is legal.  iTunes store, CD rips, direct purchase from Artist's website and a few legal frebies  from an Artist's website.
The initial match took days.  I'm not counting that agasint Apple though. I've got a lot of music and a slow home connection.  I still have about 100 tracks at home that need to upload.
    Problems:
Duplicates.   Match gave me hundredes of duplicates.    --- At a minimum Match should be able to replace an old 128kbps DRM iTunes purchase with the 256k matched version.
Match also duplicated CD rips.   For example if I ripped a CD as ALAC, match gave me a 256kbps duplicate. It shouldn't.   Match has an annoying habbit of picking the lower quality version as the 'real' one and the ALAC as the duplicate.
I haven't had as many problems with lost information as others have reported, but I did have to go back and fix a few CD rips.
I fixed most of this by hand but it took hours.
Music that refuses to match at all.  I still have dozens of tracks that won't match.   Mostly this is music I've purchase directly from a Band's website.  The files are ALAC or FLAC converted to ALAC.   There doesn't seem to be any rule as to what will or will not match.  Some albums matched a few tracks but not others.

  • Why has the Reload button shrunk and shot to the end of the URL window? How will I find out when the Favloc plugin works in V4?

I had installed Firefox 4, but rapidly had to backtrack to 3.6, then again to 3.5. Two reasons: 1. The three toolbar buttons I use most are Back, Forward and Reload. In 3.5 I can group these nicely at the left hand end; in 4 the Reload button has shrunk and shot across to the end of the URL bar. Why?
    2. Versions 3.6 and 4 are incompatible with the Favloc plugin. This is such a brilliant plugin you ought to buy the code and build it in. I am marooned in 3.5 until this plugin works in V4 - running 3.5, how will I find out when it does?

As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.
    # Install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
    # Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
    * Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
    * Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

  • IMAQ Pattern Match Score

I am working on an application that uses the IMAQ Match Pattern VI.  The matches that are returned have a score assigned to them.  The help documentation for this reads:
Score ranks the match results on a scale of 0 to 1,000, where 0 equals no match and 1,000 equals a perfect match.
Likewise, there is a VI input called "Minimum Match Score", which is the smallest score a match can have to be considered valid. The data range for a match is between 0 and 1000.
Can anyone point me to a resource that might better explain how this score is derived or at least defined?

    Hi,
The NI Vision Concepts Manual provides ancillary information; I've linked that below. The In-Depth Discussion for both Pattern Matching and Geometric Matching may prove helpful in providing the detail you're wanting.

  • How does iTunes Match work - do I keep the music?

Hey guys! With iOS 7, I can finally stream my music that I downloaded/bought on iTunes directly from iCloud, which is really amazing because I can finally free up my storage on my iPhone. Now, the only songs I have to store are the ones that I bought from places other than iTunes and I'm actually thinking about subscribing iTunes Match for several reasons:
    1. I don't just download music from iTunes, I sometimes also buy music on Amazon and Google Play.
    2. The music I bought on Amazon somehow  has lower volume(intensity level, i.e. not loud) sometimes.
    3. I did rip and still rip some music from CDs and it would be great if iTune can match it and then I can just stream them from iCloud.
    4. The quality of some of the music I ripped was not the highest quality and I would love to upgrade them without having to rip them all over again.
Now, here is my question. Will the songs stay if I only subscribe iTunes Match for a year only and then cancel the service? That means if I cancel the service a year later, can I still stream my music from iCloud? So the music I bought elsewhere is equivalent to the music I bought on iTunes (the music stays with my Apple ID). One more question, I heard that sometimes iTunes can't match your songs because the artist name or album name in your library are spelled or showed differently (',' rather than '/', "The" rather than "the"). If iTunes can find the right album artwork for my music, can I also assume it will match my songs without any problem? So all I have to do *if* iTunes can't find the music is to modify the artist name or/and album name?
That's it! Thank you in advance!

    jerryroundel wrote:
Do you know how iTunes match the music? For example, I ripped the CD "Rent [Film Soundtrack]" and there are actually two discs, so I have two album names Disc 1 and Disc 2 while iTunes version only has one album and with different name of course ("Rent (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)"). In this case, will iTunes Match work?If not, is there anyway that I can make it work?
As I mentioned, ID3 tags are not a factor in whether a track will match or not. The service uses a small "sonic fingerprint" of the file which it compares against an online database. So your ripped album having a slightly different Album name than what is is in the iTunes Store actually will not have any effect on the tracks matching or not.
    jerryroundel wrote:
Another thing is that I know I get to keep my music as long as it is in my HDD, but can I still stream my songs directly from iCloud after I cancel the subscription as if I bought them on iTunes?
    No.

  • Large size variations with IMAQ Pattern matching?

Does the pattern matching functions work for only +-5% size variations? Which means that the pattern matching is made for static situations only? (With static I mean a static camera watching e.g. a moving assemblyline)
I have a scenario where the camera is moving in 6DOF, giving my fiducials very much slant and very large size variations.
Is it then not possible to use the pattern matching of IMAQ?
The "IMAQ Vision Concepts Manual" says:
"Because pattern matching is the first step in many machine vision
applications, it should work reliably under various conditions.
In automated machine vision applications, the visual appearance of
materials or components under inspection can change due to factors such
    as ori
entation of the part, scale changes, and lighting changes. The pattern
matching tool maintains its ability to locate the reference patterns despite
    these changes."
-But with my experience, this is not correct in my scenario. Actually, the pattern matching tool was not able to find a match in any of my tested images. My size variations were large in these images (probably 50-200%).
    Thanks!

Unfortunately the pattern matching algorithm NI currently uses is not a geometric (scaleable) pattern matching algorithm. The current algorithm works despite orientation, and some lighting changes, but not scale changes.

  • How to find out if a pattern validation failed

    Hello,
I have Designed a form with several pattern-validations on it. LC's default behavior on such validation is that a message will be shown, but the user is still allowed to leave the field. Even if the entered data is crap.
So is it there any way to clear the field after a validation error or enforce the user to go back to the field?
I know it it possible to mark the validation as an error, so submitting will refuse. But in my case I have a custom submitting procedure, so this won't work.
    Thanks for your help.

    Edgar:
Instead of using a validation picture, you could put the logic in a FormCalc validation script and use the format() method. Then if it fails you can clear the field and setFocus() back into the field.
Alternatively, you could use a display picture and your validation script could compare rawValue with formattedValue. If a display picture fails, then rawValue and formattedValue will be the same.
I've described this in more detail (with a sample) at:

  • How does Lockbox matching work?

    Hi All,
We use FEBA to upload our locboxes. I am trying to understand how SAP matches a payment with an open item. I understand that it find the customer with the MICR information, but how does it find the invoice to clear? I looked at the search string and posting rules config for EBS and couldn't really understand it. How does SAP know to match the assignment field, invoice number or reference etc?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
FEBA is not used for importing lockbox files. Use T-code FLB2 for uploading lockbox and FLB1 for post processing function.
    Here accounting entry will be
    Lock Box Clearing account
        To Bank Clearing account
    And
    Bank Clearing Account
        To  Customer account
Once you upload EBS(Electronic Bank Statement) file into SAP then entry will be as below.
    Main bank account
       To  Lock Box clearing account

  • How does Itunes Match work?

If I subscribe, does ITunes Match suck all of my songs off of my Imac and take them to the cloud, update them and return them to my hard drive - can I get the improved quality stuff back on my hard drive to replace the "inferior" stuff or does it stay in the cloud?
Next question - I have a bunch of songs in ITunes, more in a Music folder, and more in a downloads folder. I assume they should all be in ITunes to use ITunes match the best way. How do I get them out of the other folders into ITunes? Where should songs be on the computer (LION 10.75).

    Rick Carlton wrote:
    First, Thanks.
So I couldget all of my musc into Itunes (still not sure how) including the music on my IPOD, transfer it by Match to the cloud.
To add music to iTunes either simply drag-n-drop it, or pull down File > Add to Library. For music that is only on an iPod see this user tip: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
    Rick Carlton wrote:
Then could I download them all to a seperate folder, throw away the older stuff, somehow transfer the new stuff back into ITunes, and have all new stuff on my HD and Time Machine Back-up?
There is no downloading, moving or "transfering" required. Everything is done directly in iTunes. Time Machine will then backup everything on the internal HDD.
    Rick Carlton wrote:
One more question - if they go to the cloud, do they sta there so my wife's Ipad and Iphone can play them?
You wife will have to be logged into your iTunes Store account to access iTunes Match.

  • Looking to find out if a Airport Extreme works

I have a ordinal a Airport Extreme Base Station that I original bought when I bought my first MacBook back in 07 and I'm wondering how if I can test along side the new AEBS I have running now. I can plug into into the the internet from the modem and can supply power to it, but would like to know since it's been a few years since I used what the networks should be called if the reset I did on it should be called?

I would suggest that you perform a "factory default" reset on the AIrPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) to get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration. In this configuration, it would be providing an unsecured wireless network with name, like: Apple Network NNNNNN
It would also have a base station administrator password of: public

  • I have downloaded CC because Elements 13 will no longer work only to find out that CC won't work either! The error message is "The procedure entry point crtCreateSymbolic in kW could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR110.dll - any thought?!

Can anyone help with the problems starting either Elements 13 or CC? Adobe are aware of the problems but offer no solutions.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work! Maybe I should give up on Adobe products and look for a different photo managing software. Adobe doesn't seem to be interested in offering support of any kind!
