How do i find out how long my contract is. how can i reduce my tarrif

hi im not happy and wish to get out of my contract or reudce my pay monthly tarrif.  Recently changed jobs and need to reude the high charges im getting.  any help ?

Hi,
You will need to call 150 and discuss this with EE CS and unless you are withing the last month you cannot downgrade your tariff. The only option will be to pay off the remainder of your tariff.

What kind of use do you make of your MBP?  A lot of photo or video?  If so, you may be storing a lot of large files.  Look at Finder and see what the file system looks like.  Do you have large libraries of data files associated with applications?
You may want to think about an external hard drive to use for backups and data storage, you can point applications to the external drive as the default storage location.
A good source of external drives at a reasonable price is the Mac specialist, OWC, http://www.macsales.com
I bought their Mercury Elite Pro 2 TB dirve last September and set it up to use part for Time Machine backup and part for other work space.  Setup with Disk utility into two partitions is very quick and easy.  Just remember to format as Extended Journaled with GUID partition table.  Setting the partition sizes is by using a braphical image on screen in DU so it is like falling off a log, so easy.

  • How can I reduce the size of IPhoto ?

I have tested IPhoto with a few hundred pictures.
I do not find this software very user-friendly, in particular because I can no longer locate the files of these pictures. I kept fortunately a copy of my complete set of my photo collection.
I removed all pictures from IPhoto, but the application shows a size of 600 Mb.
How can I reduce the size of IPhoto and recover this storage space?

    patrick
in particular because I can no longer locate the files of these pictures.
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
Rolls in the iPhoto Window (View -> Film Rolls) correspond exactly with the Roll Folders in the Originals Folder in the iPhoto Library Folder. You can move photos between Rolls, you can rename rolls, edit them, create them, as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Check out the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable. Edit a Roll Name using the Info Pane, the Roll Folder in iPhoto Library Folder/Originals will also have the new name.

  • How can I reduce size of a PDF file?

My PDF file is 20MB.  How can I reduce its size?

I used the"File > Save as Other > Reduced Size PDF" method and reduced a 4 MB pdf down to about 2.7 MB.
I then just printed the same file out to the Print PDF (not sure of the exact name) print driver.  When you install Adobe Acrobat, it adds a virtual printer to your list of available printers.  When you print to it, you don't get an actual print out, you just get a new PDF file.  This method reduced the same 4 MB pdf down to about 1.5 MB.
I find it weird that their Reduced Size PDF method gave inferior results.  Why don't they just have that function do whatever printing to the virtual printer does?

  • "Other" storage 261GB, how can I reduce this?

I have a MacBook Pro early 2008 2.4GHz with 4GB memory and a 500GB hard drive, running Mountain lion 10.8.
When I entered the "Storage" section in "About This Mac", I found out that 261GB are in some yellow bar called "Other", and another 85GB are in the "Backups" category. This is srtrange because I don't have any backups on my computer, and I've never backed up my computer using time machine or any other software.
44GB are movies, apps, photos, etc...
I ran the OmniDiskSweeper and it only found 137GB in my hard drive. That means it didn't find 255GB of storage.
How can I reduce this "Other" storage? and where can I find those backups?
    Thank you,
    YanivWolf.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved. ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root. Back up all data now. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid. After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

  • How can I reduce the bit rate of songs in my Music Library to enable me to

At the moment i can only fit about 1300 songs on my iphone and also have used up half the space on my 120gb Classic with 7000 songs which is a lot less than what i was told would fit on. so............
How can I reduce the bit rate of songs in my Music Library to enable me to fit more songs onto my iPhone or iPod Classic.. and what is the minimum rate that i should stick to in order to retain good sound quality.

    For existing tracks, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550
For CDs you import in the future, change the Import settings in the iTunes -> General preferences.
As to what will be a good bit rate, that's going to be up to you and what quality you find acceptable, but many people find that 128 kbps AAC is the optimum balance between small file size and quality.

  • How can I reduce the size of some apps like Facebook, Twitter,whatsup..etc..as they eat a lot of space on my iPhone 4s ?

How can I reduce the size of some of the key apps likeTwitt Facebook, whatsup etc..I have a iphone 4s 7 GB?

Its frustrating. I also have this problem with Dropbox, a great service but they dont have a 'delete cache' button. Dropbox told me to log out and back in again but nothing. If i delete the Dropbox app (And Facebook app and Twitter) and then re-install its back to its original size
If you go into settings/general/usage and see all the apps, press the app for Twitter (Or Facebook) and you'll see how much extra the app is keeping under 'Documents & Data'
Delete those apps and re-install and the documents and data will be 0 and the app back to normal.
Its frustrating as some of these apps can get huge, after viewing a video my facebook app went up to 450 meg ! Same for twitter. I tend to use 'Twiterrific' as the app size doesnt get silly unlike the official Twitter app

  • How can i reduce applet loading time?

I have recently begun converting a gui application to an applet. The problem i have is the loading time of the applet which can be several minutes.
The gui has a progress bar which tracks the loading of the classes, images and sounds etc, once this is up and running the loading time is fairly short, however it takes forever for the gui to actually begin to display.
The code for the classes is only about 150K altogether, there seems to a period of long modem inactivity once the applet is initialized before the gui is displayed.
How can i reduce the time it takes for the applet to initialize before the gui is displayed, otherwise users will thing nothing is happening and not bother loading it.
the applet is currently at http://www.winnieinternet.com/games/startrade2095/applet/startrade2095.htm
if you need a demo of the problem, although the applet is still work in progress.
Many thanks in advance for any help

    Some suggestions could be:
    1. Bundle all classes and resource files in a jar file.
    2. Try to preload the heavier files (e.g. sound files) in a background thread, instead of init() method. See an example for this in Sun's Java tutorial, under the trail 'Sound'.

Keep in mind that Logic also has a limit of 8550 quarter notes. So changing the time signature to 4/8 can get longer recording times. So make sure you change this setting along with the song end. See page 93 in the reference manual.

  • How can we reduce Row Chaining?

In a 10gR2 db, how can i reduce row chaining in tables?

    Hi,
First, the prevention techniques for chained rows vs. migrated rows is a bit different. Note that both chained rows and migrated (relocated) rows manifest as "table fetch continued row" in v$sysstat and stats$sysstat for STATSPACK and dba_hist_sysstat for AWR.
Preventing chained rows - Chained rows can occur when a row is to large for a data block. In these cases, moving large objects into a tablespace with a larger blocksize can often relieve chained rows.
Preventing migrated rows - Migrated rows occur when a row expands (usually w2ith a varchar2 data type), and there is not enough reserve defined by PCTFREE for the row to expand. In this case, you adjust the PCTFREE to ensure that future rows will have room to expand and reorganize the table to remove the fragments.
On some tables which are stored tiny and grow huge, you may need to set PCTFREE to a "large" value, so that only one row is stored per block. For example, if I have a row with a varchar2 that is stored at 2k and grows to 30k, I would need to use a 32k blocksize and set PCTFREE=95 so that only one rows is stored on each data block. That way, at update time, there will be room for the row to expand without fragmenting.
Operationally, Oracle consultant Steve Adams offers this tip for finding the difference between chained and migrated rows:
    http://www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/10-2008/msg00750.html
+"You can tell the difference between row migration and chaining by listing the chained rows with ANALYZE table LIST CHAINED ROWS and then fetching the first column from each "chained row" in a single query.+
+The count of continued row fetches will be incremented for every migrated row, but not for most chained rows (unless the first cut point happens to fall with the first column, which should be rare)."+
    Hope this helps . . .

I found a post with this solution that worked for me - .Do a backup, then download ibackupbot. It lets you look into the contents of that backup. Look in system files>mediadomain>library>sms>attachments. I found a ton of huge files related to long deleted texts. ibackupbot let me delete all that old crap. I then restored the phone with that now modifec backup and Bingo! freed up 9 GB. No problems.
But note, if you are not technically inclined you probaly don't want to be digging around and deleting back up files. You delete the wrong thing and you could jack up your phone badly. Be careful.
