How do I find out if my computer is running 64-bit?

Hello,I am looking to buy one of 2 cameras, one is a Nikon D3200 the other a Canon EOS 1100D My computer is windows XP pro.How do I find if it is service pack 3?
in the manual for the camera there is the following message
This application is not compatible with computers running 64-bit Windows XP.how do I find out if my computer is running 64-bit.thanks
Whittonwanderer

Hello there,
If you right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", you will be able to see if you are on Service Pack 3, and if it is 64 bit.  If it is 64 bit, it should specify where it says windows XP.
Most likely, your computer is 32 bit, as the majority of home computers bought with Windows XP on them were 32 bit.
Hope your camera's work out well for you.

  • How do i find out what version i'm running

How do i find out what version i'm running, i'm on CC (6 is it), i want to check if i'm running 6.0 or 6.01 - the update, i cannot see where my version is. If i press 'About Adobe Lightroom', it takes me to the credits box which shows what camera raw i'm running, nothing else.

This is beginning to make some sense, thank you.
At the top of the LR forum i see - Lightroom CC 2015.0.1/Lightroom 6.0.1 update now available
I am subscribed. Seems 6 is equivalentto CC. And 2015.0.1 is 6.01.
Upon opening Cats i get the attached. (Why does it not say CC :-)
A little complicated isn't it. I think we've gotten to the bottom of it.
I think it would help though when various announcements are made (I think I first saw Victoria Bs announcement regarding 6.01, but she and others have not mentioned that 6.01 may mean 2015.0.1 if you are CC)

  • How can you find out if your computer has been hacked

For some reason, I couldn't find any information on how I can tell if someone has hacked into my computer or not.
    I have an iMac:
      Model Name:    iMac
      Model Identifier:    iMac8,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2.66 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    6 MB
      Memory:    2 GB
      Bus Speed:    1.07 GHz
I was trying to save something on the computer and noticed that a co-worker's name was under the SHARED section in one of mu folders. He was in my computer! How can I find that information? His name was actually listed so I know he was on there. I even texted him then he stopped.
I have Verizon DSL and and older version of Norton Firewall (4).
He's my subordinate and we don't usually have problems. What do I do?

You probably made your system available to him by opening File Sharing. Open System Preferences - Sharing - File Sharing and look under Users. I you see it's open to him or everyone then highlight that and click the - symbol to remove them.
If you are using Norton then remove it following Norton's instructions. Their software tends to create more issues than it solves. OS X has a firewall built into it (System Preferences - Security - Firewall tab) so having a redundant firewall is unnecessary and a waste of system resources and a waste of money.

  • How do I find out if my computer is still under warranty?

Please provide the URL to find out if my desktop computer is still under warranty

Here>> Warranty Status Check   In order to look up the status, you'll need to enter your serial number and model number.
The Serial Number (s/n) is a ten-digit alpha-numeric number that is unique to your product.
The Product Number (p/n) is a six or seven-digit alpha-numeric number that identifies your product. If there is a pound sign (#) or a dash (-) in the p/n, enter only the letters and numbers before the # or - sign.

  • How can I find out if the current CPU is 32-bit or 64-bit?

I am developing a program that calls an external c++ executable with a certain parameter. With certain parameters, the executable often takes up large amounts of memory (<4GB). This is bad as I am often running this program on a 32-bit machine.
I am compiling this program on a 32-bit machine and running it (sometimes) on a 64-bit machine.
I need a way to find out if I have a 32 or 64 bit CPU. I can't solve the problem of it crashing with these parameters, however I can avoid calling the executable for these specific parameters when I am on a 32 bit machine.
As far as I know, System.getProperty("sun.arch.data.model") will return the size of your java Virtual Machine, but I need to know the size of the CPU
So basically, to sum it up:
I need a way of finding out what the size of the runtime machine is. (32-bit or 64-bit)
    Thank you in advance!

  • How do I find out if my computer has Mozilla Firefox versions 16 and 17?

I am filling out a claim with the Florida reemployment office which says I must have Mozilla Firefox versions 16 or 17. My computer states I have version 35. Will this allow me to fill out the application claim?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Since you use Windows you could use the portable Firefox 17.0.9 esr for this one site if Firefox 35.0 does not work. This way it will not interfere with your Firefox 35.0 install or Profile.

  • How do I find out whether my computer can be upgraded to windows 10?

I have been searching the HP web site to see if my computer can be upgraded to windows 10.  I also tried the the hp support assistant and it just directed me to a sales page about windows 10.  I don't want to mess up this computer and reload all the software if it is not compatable.  Is there a list of compatable HP computers or an app I can run to check?  I have wasted lots of time searching HP support for this information.  Microsoft says to go to the manufacturer for this information.  Please help.

They are in process of making that webpage to check, you can keep checking, the link on the page below is still broken. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810-400-Desktop-PC-series/7477706/model/7485498/document/c04758308/

  • How can I find out if my mac mini running snow leopard can be upgraded to mountain lion?

I have a mac mini with sufficient ram for the mountain lion OS however, I am unable to determine if the machine was created in early 2009.  Is there a way to make sure my machine will take the upgrade without purchasing the operating system first?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • How can you find out if another VI running on the same computer and how can you find out the name of that VI?

Suppose that several VIs running simultaneously on the same computer. How can I find out the names of the running VIs, from another VI?
If the already running VIs are clones of the same basic VI, open and run with the option "Prepare to call and forget", how can I find out the names and index of each clone?

I had an application where I spawned (= ran with Start Asynchronous Call) multiple (reentrant) copies of VIs, and would occasionally "lose control" of them.  I needed a way to find all VIs that were running "Top Level" and stop them (so I didn't have to log off from Windows).
I used the Application Property "All VIs in Memory" to get an array of (wait for it ...) All VIs in Memory.  I took each name, opened a VI reference to it (simply wire the name string in, as the VI is, by definition, "in memory"), looked at its VI Execution State, and if it was Run Top Level, Invoked the FP.Close and Abort VI Methods.  [To prevent the VI that did all this from "committing Suicide", I compared the name string with the current Call Chain, and did nothing if there was a match].
I think you could adopt this idea to do what you need.

  • How do I find out which computer I sync music, videos and photos on?

I am about to update my iPhone to iOS 4.2 but it tells me that to preserve my media, I should apply this update on "the computer where you sync music, videos and photos". How do I find out what that computer is?

You should be regularly backing up then you can just move your library to a new computer and sync there.
If you don't have one then you will have to transfer purchases (grab a 3rd party program for non-purchased content) and then sync to the new computer

  • How do I find out what OS my Macbook Pro is running?

I have a Macbook pro that I purchased a few years ago.  To my knowledge, I have never upgraded the OS.  However, I'm not sure.  How do I find out what OS I'm running and what I'm eligible to upgrade to?
Thank you in advance for your help!!

10.7 or Lion is already out and has been for over a year.
The one that is coming is 10.8 or Mountion Lion.
You will need to buy the DVD for 10.6 but not for 10.5.
After you upgrade to 10.6.8 then you can use the App Store to download and install either 10.7 or 10.8 when it is release later this month.
This is provided your Mac mets the hardware requirements for them.
