How do I find out what kind of computer I have?

I am looking at the stickers on the bottom of my laptop and all I see is 8922 as the model number. When searching the website I could not find anything with 8922 in it. I need help please. I deleted my sound driver and I need a new one, but I can't download another one until I know what model my laptop is. please help!

your Type and Model number should be on a sticker with a bar code on it as shown on this ste, alternatively you can look in BIOS, (press F1 at boot), where it will show you Type, Model and Serial Number. Please do NOT post your Serial number in the forum.
FYI the 8922 Type code refers to a Lenovo 3000 C200 system for which drivers can be found here

If you have Firewire 800 it's a boxy looking port, the Firewire 400 is thinner and has a arrow looking shape, you can get a adpater.

I got my computer as a gift and the gifter is no longer available. I called the HP Americas support center, but because my notebook was bought outside of the Americas they can't tell me anything about my computer, including what country was sold even with my serial number or if it is in warranty. xx at the end is not a valid model number and those two letters give us some clue as to which market the laptop was sold in. It should be dv or ea or something like that.

Have you tried closing Kindle the app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Kindle 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Kindle app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

The receipt wants to say that you ordered two modules of 4 GB of RAM, so after installing them, you will have 8 GB. If you have already installed this RAM, open  > About this Mac, and check Memory to check the amount of memory your Mac has

My Mac is running as slow as a week in jail , how can i find out what is causing it , I have 1TB memory , using 635 of it at the moment. i'm using version 10.7.1 , lion. What kind of use do you make of your MBP? A lot of photo or video? If so, you may be storing a lot of large files. Look at Finder and see what the file system looks like. Do you have large libraries of data files associated with applications?
You may want to think about an external hard drive to use for backups and data storage, you can point applications to the external drive as the default storage location.

I bought their Mercury Elite Pro 2 TB dirve last September and set it up to use part for Time Machine backup and part for other work space. Setup with Disk utility into two partitions is very quick and easy. Just remember to format as Extended Journaled with GUID partition table. Setting the partition sizes is by using a braphical image on screen in DU so it is like falling off a log, so easy.

Something on my iPhone 4 (fully updated) is constantly trying to connect to the internet via 3G, costing me a lot of money when I am not connected via WLAN! I can't work out what it is, but presume it is an app. How can I find out what is doing it?
I have tried deleting the cache, resetting the phone, etc. Nothing has worked. I even turned off 3G, cellular data, etc. and it STILL connected. How does that work?!

thanks for the reply but are you sure about this? What difference would it make? Why 5 apps?
Even if it does work, which I doubt, at some point, I will have to resync ALL my apps again and surely the same thing will happen again, and I will be none the wiser. I still won't know which app it is. There must be a way of finding this out.
Any ideas?
What is really freaking me out is how it is connecting to my carrier (who is charging me) with Cellular data switched off.......?

Sounds like you want your administrative password on the Mac so can install? For starters, you'll want to ask in a Mac forum. I know you used to be able to reset it using the install disk but haven't tried that for years.
