How do I find out whether my computer can be upgraded to windows 10?

I have been searching the HP web site to see if my computer can be upgraded to windows 10.  I also tried the the hp support assistant and it just directed me to a sales page about windows 10.  I don't want to mess up this computer and reload all the software if it is not compatable.  Is there a list of compatable HP computers or an app I can run to check?  I have wasted lots of time searching HP support for this information.  Microsoft says to go to the manufacturer for this information.  Please help.

They are in process of making that webpage to check, you can keep checking, the link on the page below is still broken. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810-400-Desktop-PC-series/7477706/model/7485498/document/c04758308/

  • How do I find out if my computer is running 64-bit?

    Hello,I am looking to buy one of 2 cameras,one is a Nikon D3200 the other a Canon EOS 1100D My computer is windows XP pro.How do I find if it is service pack 3?
    in the manual for the camera there is the following message
    This application is not compatible with computers running 64-bit Windows XP.how do I find out if my computer is running 64-bit.thanks
    Whittonwanderer

    Hello there,
    If you right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", you will be able to see if you are on Service Pack 3, and if it is 64 bit.  If it is 64 bit, it should specify where it says windows XP.
    Most likely, your computer is 32 bit, as the majority of home computers bought with Windows XP on them were 32 bit.
    Hope your camera's work out well for you.

  • How do I find out when our exchange will be upgrad...

    Our exchange is very small (around 35O lines) and we are a long way from it - 4km.  At the very best - early in the morning - we can get 1.5mb download and 0.35mb upload.  By the time everyone else is on it in the evenings it doesn't really work at all - so slow you can't check the speeds.  Have done all we can locally, am a county broadband champion, but seems impossible to find out when the BT exchange will be upgraded.  Suspect we are too rural and will be in the 10% not covered by the Government's weedy promise of 2015.  Such a missed opportunity - as better broadband would be a fantastic boost to rural economies and save fuel. Anyone know how a) you can find out the plans and b) what's the best way to lobby?

    Hi,
    Your exchange is probably ADSLMax enabled giving your speeds of up to 8mb. The upgrade your probably talking about is the upgrade to BTw's 21cn network which enables ADSL2+ at your exchange. ADSL2+ is upto 20mb.
    You can check if your exchange is going to be upgraded here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker
    However if you have a long line then a good stable line on ADSLMax may not be a good stable line on ADSL2+ as ADSL2+ is more aggressive to any noise on your line.
    Once BTW and Openreach have upgraded your exchange it can take days/weeks/months till your line is upgraded to ADSL2+ as they are manual transferred to the new equipment in the exchange in batches.
    If your on a ling line then you might be moved to BTw's 21cn network but kept on ADSLMax.
    If your able to supply your ADSL Line Statistics and a BT speedtest we might be able to tell you if you will benefit from ADSL2+.
    1) ADSL Line Stats Help
    If you have a BT Home Hub like the one below...
    Then:
    1) Go to http://192.168.1.254 or http://bthomehub.home
    2) click Settings
    3) Click Advanced Settings
    4) Click Broadband
    5) Click Connection or sometimes called ADSL (see picture Below)
    The direct Address is http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116 (for bthomehub3)
    2) can your post your BT Speedtest results by using http://speedtester.bt.com (not beta version) [best done with a wired connection ie Ethernet]
    cheers

  • How do I find out when my cabinet will be upgraded...

    Hi, My local exchange consett is accepting orders in some areas and will be fully activated on 30th June 2012. However it appears that my cabinet is not part of the current phase of upgrades my cabinet no is apparently p36 My post code is dh89qx It appears as if surrounding streets are going to be enabled and they are likely To be one the same cabinet I am also aware there is a cabinet about 100m from p36 which is being upgraded Can any one help me find out if my cabinet is planned to be upgraded I have rang customer services and just got the standard it isn't available

    thanks, its still confusing though. im actually checking 2 addresses.
    my parents address which is a bt line and telephone number gives this result;
    "Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 30th September 2012. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 51.1Mbps and upstream line speed of 13.2Mbps.
    The actual stable line speed supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use. This speed may change over time, to ensure line stability is maintained.
    If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase."
    does this mean this line is enabled or by 30th september.
    my address which is a sky line and number says;
    Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial check on your address indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 1Mbps. However due to the length of your line the 1Mbps service may require an engineer visit who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.
    Our check also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 2Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 1.5Mbps and 4.5Mbps.
    Our check also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 3Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 1.5Mbps and 5.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 500Kbps and downstream line speed of 3Mbps; typically the downstream speed would range between 1.5Mbps and 5.5Mbps.
    The actual stable line speed supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use. This speed may change over time, to ensure line stability is maintained.
    If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase."
    this obviously doesnt mention FTTC.
    id just love to know a definitive answer either way.

  • How to find out whether an object can be converted into a Long?

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem which can be summarized by the following. Let's imagine the following method:
    public static int MyCompare(Object anyObj) throws Exception {
        Long X = new Long(3);
        if (anyObj "can be converted into a Long") {
            Long MyConv = anyObj;
            return X.compareTo(MyConv);
        } else {
            throw new Exception("No success");
    }My issues are i) that I don't know how to write the proper test to check whether the anyObj parameter can be conveted into a Long and ii) How do I convert anyObj into a Long properly?
    The method should not return an Exception in the following cases:
    int a1 = 33;
    long a2 = 44;
    MyCompare(a1);
    MyCompare(a2);Can anyone help? Thanks !
    J.

    Hi,
    I have tried to test the suggestion with the following code:
    public class MainLong {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            int i = 33;
            long j = 44;
            Long k = new Long(55);
            String l = "Trulu";
            System.out.println(MyCompare(i));
            System.out.println(MyCompare(j));
            System.out.println(MyCompare(k));
            System.out.println(MyCompare(l));
        public static int MyCompare(Object inObj) {
            Long Dummy = new Long(30);
            if (inObj instanceof Long) {
                Long Temp = (Long) inObj;
                return Dummy.compareTo(Temp);
            } else {
                return Integer.MIN_VALUE;
    }and I got the following output:
    -2147483648
    -1
    -1
    -2147483648which is all fine except for the call with an int, it should return -1.
    The above are example of objects which can be passed as a parameter to the function. I bet I should test for (anyObj instanceof INTEGER), correct?
    Thanks,
    J.

    Since you use Windows you could use the portable Firefox 17.0.9 esr for this one site if Firefox 35.0 does not work. This way it will not interfere with your Firefox 35.0 install or Profile.

  • How to find out whether Oracle database was upgraded ??

    Hi,
    I need to find out whether my Oracle database was upgraded, If yes how to find out by SQL query .I know their is database_properties table, but when I try to query that it didnt gave me the output which I required.
    Like in SAP we have uvers table which keep info about the upgrade history, whether such history is avaliable in oracle ?? . Iam looking out for output which is like old database Release 9.2.0.7 and new database release 10.2.0.2.
    Whether similar such history is maintained in Oracle database.
    Awaiting for your feedback.
    Kind Regards
    Neenad

    Hi all,
    After checking all the material,I dont think prior to 10g, oracle register its earlier version.
    The views of v$version show the current version for various components and also dba_registry displays info about catlog/catproc versions.
    In 10g, you can use the following query to know the version when the database was broughtup.
    select startup_time,version,db_name from dba_hist_database_instance.
    Anways thanks to all of you.
    Kind Regards

  • How do I find out which computer I sync music, videos and photos on?

    I am about to update my iPhone to iOS 4.2 but it tells me that to preserve my media, I should apply this update on "the computer where you sync music, videos and photos". How do I find out what that computer is?

    You should be regularly backing up then you can just move your library to a new computer and sync there.
    If you don't have one then you will have to transfer purchases (grab a 3rd party program for non-purchased content) and then sync to the new computer
